A Study on Advanced Fault Locating for Short Fault of a Double Circuit Transmission Line (병행 2회선 송전선로의 선간단락시 고장점 표정의 개선에 관한 연구)

  • Fault locating is an important element to minimize the damage of power system. The computation error of fault locator may occur by the influence of the DC offset component during phasor extraction. In order to minimize the bad effects of DC offset component, this paper presents an improved fault location algorithm based on a DC offset removal filter for short fault in a double circuit transmission line. We have modeled a 154kV double circuit transmission line by the ATP software to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed fault locating algorithm. The line to line short faults were simulated and then collected simulation data was used. It can be seen that the error rate of fault locating estimation by the proposed algorithm decreases than the error rate of fault locating estimation by conventional algorithm.

Hexagon-shape Line Search Algorithm for Fast Motion Estimation on Media Processor (미디어프로세서 상의 고속 움직임 탐색을 위한 Hexagon 모양 라인 탐색 알고리즘)

  • Most of fast block motion estimation algorithms reported so far in literatures aim to reduce the computation in terms of the number of search points, thus do not fit well with multimedia processors due to their irregular data flow. For multimedia processors, proper reuse of data is more important than reducing number of absolute difference operations because the execution cycle performance strongly depends on the number of off-chip memory access. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a Hexagon-shape line search (HEXSLS) algorithm using line search pattern which can increase data reuse from on-chip local buffer, and check sub-sampling points in line search pattern to reduce unnecessary SAD operation. Our experimental results show that the prediction error (MAE) performance of the proposed HEXSLS is similar to that of the full search block matching algorithm (FSBMA), while compared with the hexagon-based search (HEXBS), the HEXSLS outperforms. Also the proposed HEXSLS requires much lesser off-chip memory access than the conventional fast motion estimation algorithm such as the hexagon-based search (HEXBS) and the predictive line search (PLS). As a result, the proposed HEXSLS algorithm requires smaller number of execution cycles on media processor.

  • This paper presents the ways that can improve the Software Cost Estimation Guidelines in order to replace those that are expected to be abolished at February, 2012, and solve the problems that are being occurred in the current Software Cost Estimation Guidelines. By using multidimensional modeling of OLAP(On-Line Analytical Processing), this paper does three dimensional modeling that considers the product/service view, process view and skill view. Also, it presents the identification method of cost estimation data through the view of each dimension. Furthermore, it defines the software cost estimation process and adapts them into the bottom up estimation and the top down estimation. Finally, it proposes the access of cost estimation data by the multidimensional analysis of OLAP.

  • This paper deals with a parameter estimation of the DC-DC converter system for its diagnosis. Especially, we present the results of parameter estimation for the DC-DC converter model by the system identification method. The parameter estimation for the DC-DC converter system aims at the diagnosis of its operating status. For the operating status diagnosis of the DC-DC converter system, we assume that the DC-DC converter system is an equivalent model of the Buck converter and estimate the main parameter for on-line diagnosis. In addition, for verification of an estimated parameter, we compare a bode plot of the estimated system transfer function and measurement results of the HP4194 instrument. It is a control system analyzer for system transfer function measurement. Our results confirm that the main parameter for diagnosis of the DC-DC converter system can be estimated by the system identification method and that the aging status of the system can be predicted by these results on operating status.

Efficient Noise Estimation for Speech Enhancement in Wavelet Packet Transform

  • In this paper, we suggest a noise estimation method for speech enhancement in nonstationary noisy environments. The proposed method consists of the following two main processes. First, in order to receive fewer affect of variable signals, a best fitting regression line is used, which is obtained by applying a least squares method to coefficient magnitudes in a node with a uniform wavelet packet transform. Next, in order to update the noise estimation efficiently, a differential forgetting factor and a correlation coefficient per subband are used, where subband is employed for applying the weighted value according to the change of signals. In particular, this method has the ability to update the noise estimation by using the estimated noise at the previous frame only, without utilizing the statistical information of long past frames and explicit nonspeech frames by voice activity detector. In objective assessments, it was observed that the performance of the proposed method was better than that of the compared (minima controlled recursive averaging, weighted average) methods. Furthermore, the method showed a reliable result even at low SNR.

  • The stability and control derivatives of DURUMI-lI UAV using the flight test are obtained. The flight test data is gathered from the normal flight condition (normal mode) and the flight condition assumed as the right elevator fixed (fault mode). Using real-time parameter estimation techniques, applied to Fourier transform regression method, simulates the aircraft motion. From the result, the fault of control surface is to be detected. In this paper, the results of the real- time parameter estimation techniques are compared with the results of the Advanced Aircraft Analysis (AAA). Using the aerodynamic derivatives, it provides the base line of normal/failure for the control surface by using the on-line parameter estimation of Fourier transform regression. In flight, this approach maybe helpful to detect and isolate the fault of primary control surface. It is explained how to perform the flight condition assumed as the right elevator fixed in the flight test. Also, it is mentioned how to switch between the normal flight condition and the assumed fault flight condition.

  • In this paper the Local Weighted Regression LWR technique is applied to the estimation of aircrcraft parameters. The method consists In improving the Local Weighted Regression LWR technique by adding a data Retention-and-Deletion RD strategy. The improvement comes with reduced computational effort since the two techniques can share their main computational procedures. The purpose of the study was to establish if the proposed algorithm could provide fast and reliable real-time estimations, with accuracy comparable to other well-known off-line identification schemes.   • This paper presents a stability estimation method for subspan oscillation on overhead transmission line. It has been used method by conductor's fatigue limit or subspan oscillation amplitude. But it is not proper to estimation of subspan oscillation. We suggest to instability index for estimation method of subspan oscillation. And we tried to 4 bundled conductor system. This result will use to establish of the subspan location rules.

  • ;The consicErations for reminder life of transmission line is gradually higher. It is requisite for investigation of ACSR's life to test tensile load of ACSR as a fundamental data. It is vary important to analysis correlations between results of tensile load testing and elasped years. Estimation of ACSR's life can be obtained by statistics processing using mechanical experirrental results. It is a general method to use regression analysis as a statistics processing technique. In this paper, we did experiment on tensile strength of ACSR by using a new and old ACSR as sample experirrental materials. The limit of life estimation is decided by basic line using twenty percentage reduction of rate tensile strength. This basic line is like to results of Canada Ontario Hydro-research. There are $95[\textrm{mm}^2]$, $97[\textrm{mm}^2]$, $120[\textrm{mm}^2]$, $240[\textrm{mm}^2]$ ACSRs which are experimented on this study. 1be life estimation of these ACSR is presented by table 1 to be obtained through the linear regression and nonlinear regression analysis. SPSS and statistics toolbox of matlab is used for analysis.lysis.

Position Estimation Using Neural Network for Navigation of Wheeled Mobile Robot (WMR) in a Corridor

  • This paper describes position estimation algorithm using neural network for the navigation of the vision-based wheeled mobile robot (WMR) in a corridor with taking ceiling lamps as landmark. From images of a corridor the lamp's line on the ceiling in corridor has a specific slope to the lateral position of the WMR. The vanishing point produced by the lamp's line also has a specific position to the orientation of WMR. The ceiling lamps have a limited size and shape like a circle in image. Simple image processing algorithms are used to extract lamps from the corridor image. Then the lamp's line and vanishing point's position are defined and calculated at known position of WMR in a corridor. To estimate the lateral position and orientation of WMR from an image, the relationship between the position of WMR and the features of ceiling lamps have to be defined. But it is hard because of nonlinearity. Therefore, data set between position of WMR and features of lamps are configured. Neural network are composed and learned with data set. Back propagation algorithm(BPN) is used for learning. And it is applied in navigation of WMR in a corridor.
