  • With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, global fashion brands have been hosting online fashion shows instead of offline ones. In light of the current pandemic scenario, this research conducted a study on digital fashion shows held online, specifically focusing on two types of shows: fashion films and games. This study examined the characteristics of changes in digital fashion shows as well as their limitations. The case studies analyzed fashion shows from January 2020 to July 2021, with a focus on the 2021 S/S and 2021 F/W seasons, and 26 fashion shows from 23 brands. The results of this study were as follows: First, digital fashion shows transcended physical limitations through virtualization and non-face-to-face communication, breaking free of the limits of space and time in reality. Second, the entertainment role of fashion shows was strengthened. However, online fashion shows had limitations as they lacked a sense of reality and distracted viewers' attention from fashion products. This study has practical implications as it proposes a path for the development of digitalized fashion shows by addressing its current limitations. Overcoming these shortcomings, post-pandemic fashion shows would be more diverse, flexible, and creative. Consequently, following the pandemic period, we look forward to new types of fashion shows using digital imaging technologies.

  • This study explores the potential use of artificial intelligence (AI)-based services, specifically ChatGPT-3.5, in medical education. The application of this technology is acknowledged as a valuable tool for simulating authentic clinical scenarios and enhancing learners' diagnostic and communication skills. To construct a case, students received ChatGPT training using a clinical ethics casebook titled "Clinical Ethics Cases and Commentaries for Medical Students and Physicians." Subsequently, a role-play script was generated based on this training. The initial draft of the script was reviewed by two medical professors and was further optimized using ChatGPT-3.5. Consequently, a comprehensive role-play script, accurately reflecting real-world clinical situations, was successfully developed. This study demonstrates the potential for effectively integrating AI technology into medical education and provides a solution to overcome limitations in developing role-play scripts within conventional educational settings. However, the study acknowledges that AI cannot always generate flawless role-play scripts and recognizes the necessity of addressing these limitations and ethical concerns. The research explores both the potential and limitations of employing AI in the early stages of medical education, suggesting that future studies should focus on overcoming these limitations while further investigating the potential applications of AI in this field.

  • Glasses industry has great growth potential from the future-oriented perspective in Korea. In consideration of the fact that the ratio of aging population increases in this aging society, people have more and more interest in health. Also, their recognition on the cycle to change glasses is changing, and the utility of them as fashion items is increasing day by day, it is expected that the demand for glasses will be even more extended afterwards. Of course, presently it suffers from the gap between cheaper items and expensive ones provided by overseas prominent brands due to the bi-polarization of the market. However, they are pursuing the 2nd growth as export-leading items in the past through international glass exhibitions based on knowhow accumulated for a long time. Therefore, this study aims to examine the current status of glasses design industry in Korea reflecting the actual situations we have now and also understand the problems and limitations internalized in our glass design industry through the research process. As a result, the study has drawn the following conclusions. This paper intends to point out first, the phenomenon of bi-polarization of the glass market in Korea. Second, unequal distribution by region centering around Daegu. Third, the limitations of brand identity. Fourth, the limitations of information, planning, and marketing power. Fifth, passive conduction of international events and their insufficient effects. This study concludes that all these problems can be solved through 'planning and design, and marketing power'.

  • An address is sub-spatial data representing a location, and identifies the place in which a resident's life is based. The Korean address system has changed from an area-based address system to the Road Name Address System in 2014 to solve the problems of the area-based address system and to accept the international address standards. Although the Road Name Address System is continually being modified and implemented it limitations. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to resolve these limitations and to analyze and redefine the Road Name Address System of Korea to implement the street-based address system. To understand the address, we define the components of the address system and analyze the Korean Road Name Address System based on each component to derive the limit. To resolve the limitations of the Road Name Address System and to implement the street-based address system, the Road Name Address System is redefined according to three aspects. Finally, we evaluate the usability of the Road Name Address System proposed in this study through address based geocoding.

  • The borehole heat exchanger of Geothermal Heat Pump (GHP) system should be sustainable and cost effective for long term operation. To guaranty the performance of the system thermal Response Tests (TRTs) with simple recommended procedures have been applied in many countries. Korea government developed a standard TRT procedure in order to control the quality on GHP projects. In the TRT procedure interpretation method has a rule that data set has to be interpreted by the line source model(LSM). The LSM employes some assumptions that surrounding medium is homogeneous and the line source is infinite and constant heat flux, however real ground condition is unisotropic and heterogeneous, and showing regional or local ground water flows in many cases. We need to develope improved evaluation models to estimate accurate ground thermal conductivity with respect to geological and influence of ground water because current TRT standard test procedure has limitations to be applied for every locations and system. This study surveyed the uncertainty of the thermal parameters from the interpretation method considering different evaluation period. The interpretation of 208 TRT data sets represents limitations of LSM application that some obtained ground thermal conductivities are statistically unstable and convergence time of ground thermal conductivity over test period shows trends responding the length of test period. This evaluation study will be helpful to provide some effective procedure for the thermal parameter estimation and to complement current TRT standard procedure.

  • This paper suggests a dynamic balanced scorecard (DBSC) model employing the concept of system dynamics (SD), which could overcome the limitations inherent in the conventional balanced scorecard (BSC) and facilitate strategic learning process in organizations. The BSC has been a successful framework for measuring an organization's performance in various Perspectives through translating an organization's vision and strategy into an interrelated set of key performance indicators and specific actions. The BSC, while having significant strengths over traditional performance measurement methods, however, has its own limitations, due to its static nature, such as overlooking two-way causation between performance Indicators and neglecting the impact of delayed feedback flowing from the adoption of new strategies or policy changes. To overcome these limitations, we employs SD, a methodology for understanding complex systems where dynamic feedback among the interrelated system components significantly impact on the system outcomes. The SD simulation model in the form of DBSC we suggest in this paper would serve as a useful strategic learning tool for facilitating an organization's communication process through various scenario analyses as well as predicting the dynamic behavior pattern of their key performance measures over a future time frame. For the demonstration purpose, we apply the DBSC model to Korea Coal Corporation (KoCoal ) BSC case.

  • Background: More than 1 million cancer survivors reside in Korea. We here investigated activity limitations of cancer survivors compared to controls without a history of cancer. Materials and Methods: Using the 4th and 5th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2007-2012) data, we identified 1,155 adult cancer survivors. Activity limitations were defined as limitation in activities of daily living, experience of lying in a sickbed, and number of days lying in a sickbed during the last month. Descriptive analysis and multiple logistic regression compared these measures for survivors and controls by sex and age groups. Results: Approximately 29.4% of cancer survivors reported limitation in activities of daily living, 14.6% experienced lying in a sickbed, and 4.3% experienced more than 15 days lying in a sickbed during the last month. After controlling for demographic and health-related factors, cancer survivors were more likely to report activity limitation than controls. The associations were similar across sex and age groups. Conclusions: Cancer survivors have increased activity limitation compared to controls and these limitations persist across sex and age. Targeted interventions and improved management are essential for improving cancer survivor daily life.

  • In this paper, we review relevant technologies of Mixed Reality(MR) and show important components of perspective that can overcome technical limitations of the current MR. An MR technology combines real and virtual objects in a real environment, and runs interactive in real time, and is regarded as an emerging technology in a large part of the future of Information Technology(IT). We've grouped the major obstacles limiting the wider use of MR technologies into three themes: technological limitations (i,e., tracking, rendering, authoring, and registration), user interface(UI) limitations(i.e., UI metaphor for MR interaction), and social acceptance issues.

  • Since the England's Parliament revised the British copyright law and enacted the first copyright exception specifically for libraries (user or service) in 1956, copyright exceptions applicable to libraries have been an important part of world copyright laws through the last few decades. Copyright exceptions for libraries are a critical legal tool to preserve intellectual and cultural heritage, promote equitable access to knowledge and information to the public, and to support learning and research. Based on these reasons, this study analyzed and compared the current state of copyright structure and limitations or exceptions for library in six major countries(United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, and Republic of Korea).
