  • In order to overcome the limitation based on different avatar models, in this paper, we propose gesture communications between different avatar models using FBML (Facial Body Markup Language). The experimental results demonstrate a possibility that the proposed method could be used as an efficient means to overcome the problem.

  • Computer codes on two numerical optimization methods-Sequentially Unconstrained Minimization Technique (SUMT) and Gradient Projection Method-are constructed and tested with several test problems. Design formulation of tension - compression coil spring is set up and the solution is obtained. Consequently, the feature, the advantage and the limitation of these methods, made clear through the tests, are discussed.

  • The MAU-series propellers were designed and tested in japan. This report presents the polynomial coefficients of open water Characteristics for each standard MAU-series propellers, obtained by multiple polynomial regression analysis in terms of pitch-diameter ratio and advance coefficient. The limitation of applicability and the accuracy of the regression polynomial are also discussed.

  • We have shown several examples of characterization of multicomponent polymer systems by size exclusion chromatography coupled with a light scattering detector. Although SEC cannot provide a complete information for such systems due to its intrinsic limitation, one can extend its capability by combining multiple detection in order to get relevant information to some extent.
