Error propagation effects for explicit pseudodynamic algorithms

  • This paper discusses the error propagation characteristics of the Newmark explicit method, modified Newmark explicit method and ${\alpha}$-function dissipative explicit method in pseudodynamic tests. The Newmark explicit method is non-dissipative while the ${\alpha}$-function dissipative explicit method and the modified Newmark explicit method are dissipative and can eliminate the spurious participation of high frequency responses. In addition, error propagation analysis shows that the modified Newmark explicit method and the ${\alpha}$-function dissipative explicit method possess much better error propagation properties when compared to the Newmark explicit method. The major disadvantages of the modified Newmark explicit method are the positive lower stability limit and undesired numerical dissipation. Thus, the ${\alpha}$-function dissipative explicit method might be the most appropriate explicit pseudodynamic algorithm.

BOUNDS OF HANKEL DETERMINANTS FOR ANALYTIC FUNCTION

  • In this paper, we give estimates of the Hankel determinant H2(1) in a novel class 𝓝 (𝜀) of analytical functions in the unit disc. In addition, the relation between the Fekete-Szegö function H2(1) and the module of the angular derivative of the analytical function p(z) at a boundary point b of the unit disk will be given. In this association, the coefficients in the Hankel determinant b2, b3 and b4 will be taken into consideration. Moreover, in a class of analytic functions on the unit disc, assuming the existence of angular limit on the boundary point, the estimations below of the modulus of angular derivative have been obtained.

  • A Wasserstein GAN(WGAN), optimum in terms of minimizing Wasserstein distance, still suffers from inconsistent convergence or unexpected output due to inherent learning instability. It is widely known some kinds of restriction on the discriminative function should be considered to solve such problems, which implies the importance of Lipschitz continuity. Unfortunately, there are few known methods to satisfactorily maintain the Lipschitz continuity of the discriminative function. In this paper we propose techniques to stably maintain the Lipschitz continuity of the discriminative function by adding effective regularization terms to the objective function, which limit the magnitude of the gradient vectors of the discriminator to one or less. Extensive experiments are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed techniques, which shows the single-sided penalty improves convergence compared with the gradient penalty at the early learning process, while the proposed additional penalty increases inception scores by 0.18 after 100,000 number of learning.

THE LUMINOSITY FUNCTION AND INITIAL MASS FUNCTION FOR THE PLEIADES CLUSTER

  • In the best observed Pleiades cluster, the luminosity function(LF) and mass function(MF) for main sequence(MS) stars extended to $Mv{\approx}15.5(V{\approx}21)$ are very similar to the initial luminosity function(ILF) and initial mass function(IMF) for field stars in the solar neighborhood showing a bump at log $m{\simeq}-0.05$ and a dip at log $m{\simeq}-0.12$. This dip is equivalent to the Wielen dip appearing in the LF for the field stars. The occurence of these bump and dip is independent of adopted mass-luminosity relation(MLR) . and their characteristics could be explained by a time-dependent bimodal IMF. The model with this IMF gives a total cluster mass of $\~700M_\bigodot,\;\~25$ brown dwarfs and $\~3$ white dwarfs if the upper mass limit of progenitor of white dwarf is greater than $4.5M_\bigodot$. The cluster age on the basis of LF for brightest stars is given by $\~8\times10^7yr$ and all stars in the cluster lie along the single age sequence in the C-M diagram without showing a large dispersion from the sequence.

  • 최근 인터넷 사용자 수의 증가와 게임, 뉴스, 분산컴퓨팅, 화상회의, 실시간 오디오, 비디오 등의 새로운 응용 트래픽의 등장으로 각 응용의 요구 대역폭이 증가하게 되었다. 이러한 요구에 파장 단위의 전송이 제시되었지만 파장의 한계성이 존재하므로 본 논문에서는 파장 단위의 Time slot을 적용한 빠른 스케줄링 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 이 알고리즘은 일반적인 파장 스위칭 기능과 시간분할전송 기능을 포함한 복합 구조의 광 교환기의 형태를 나타낸다. 제안한 OXC(Optical Cross Connect) 구조의 성능 평가는 패킷의 종류에 따른 구분을 위해 LFS(Limit Frame Size)와 VFS(Variable Frame Size)를 정의하였다. 임계값 이내에서는 두개의 프레임 구조가 유사하게 나타나지만 임계값의 초과 시에는 현저한 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 구조의 광 교환기는 노드가 증가함에 따라 발생하는 프레임들의 충돌을 감소시킴은 물론 망의 확장성을 보장 할 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다.

  • A novel torque sharing function (TSF) is presented. To improve efficiency and to reduce torque ripple in commutation region, only a phase torque under commutation is regulated to produce a uniform torque. And the torque developed by the other phase remains with the previous state under a current limit of the motor and drive. If the minimum change of a phase torque reference can not satisfy the total reference torque, two-phase changing mode is used. Since a phase torque is constant and the other phase torque is changed at each rotor position, total torque error can be reduced within a phase torque error limit. And the total torque error is dependent on the change of phase torque. To consider non-linear torque characteristics and to suppress a tail current at the end of commutation region, the incoming phase current is changed to torque increasing direction, but the outgoing phase current is changed to torque decreasing direction. So, the torque sharing of the outgoing phase and incoming phase can be smoothly changed with a minimum current cross over. The proposed control scheme is verified by some computer simulations and experimental results.

  • In order to design capacity of lithium ion battery, some calculations were carried out based on the characteristics of materials by the given battery shape and dimension. The principle of design was built by the interpretation of the correlation of material, electrochemical and battery factors. Parameters of materials are fundamental physical properties of constituent such as cathode. separator, anode, current collectors and electrolyte. Electrochemical factor includes potential pattern as a function of specific capacity, specific discharge capacity(or initial irreversible specific capacity or Ah efficiency) as a function of specific charge capacity and material balancing. Parameters of battery are dimension, construction hardware and performance. Battery capacity was simulated for a lithium cobalt dioxide as cathode and a hard carbon as anode to achieve 1100 mAh for the charge limit voltage of 4.2V, the weight ratio(+/-) of 2.4 and ICR18650. A fabricated test cell (ICR18650) which have weight ratio(+/-) of 2.4 discharged to 1093 mAh for the charge limit voltage of 4.2V. The sequential discharge capacity show good correspondence with designed capacity.

  • 본 논문에서는 주어진 필터와 구현 복잡도에 대하여 최대 코딩이득을 내는 부 주파수 분활을 가진 서브밴드 부호화기를 구축하는 고속 알고리듬을 제안한다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 직교 기저 및 비 직교 기저와 임의의 부 주파수 분할에 대하여 적용할 수 있는 통합적인 코딩이득의 식을 유도한 다음, 부 주파수 대역수에 대하여 코딩이득이 단순 증가 함수임을 증명한다, 이를 바탕으로 복잡도에 대하여 최대 코딩이득을 내는 최적화 된 부 주파수 분할을 찾아내기 위하여 그 단순 증가 함수를 부 주파수 대역 수에 따른 왜곡 함수로 다룬다. 이 왜곡 함수을 목적함수로 두고 Lagrange 방법에 근거하여 최적화 된 해를 고속으로 제공하는 알고리듬을 개발한다.

FORM 및 SORM을 이용한 무어링 체인의 신뢰성 기반 결함평가 (Reliability-based Flaw Assessment of a Mooring Chain Using FORM and SORM)

  • This study presents the reliability-based flaw assessment for the crack in the mooring chain of a floating type offshore structure. BSI(British Standard Institution) flaw assessment procedure BS7910 was combined with first- and second-order reliability method (FORM, SORM) so that the acceptance of a given flaw can be assessed considering the uncertainties of parameters that play important role in the flaw assessment. Considering the probabilistic nature of the crack size and long-term distribution of the stresses acting on the crack in mooring chain, the failure probability was calculated using FORM and SORM. To check the validity of the FORM and SORM, Monte Carlo simulation was also carried out to derive the true limit state function and compared with the results of FORM and SORM.
