  • Deep learning models require high computing power due to a substantial amount of computation. It is difficult to use them in devices with limited computing environments, such as coastal surveillance equipments. In this study, a lightweight model is constructed by analyzing the weight changes of the convolutional layers during the training process based on MobileNet and then pruning the layers that affects the model less. The performance comparison results show that the lightweight model maintains performance while reducing computational load, parameters, model size, and data processing speed. As a result of this study, an effective pruning method for constructing lightweight deep learning models and the possibility of using equipment resources efficiently through lightweight models in limited computing environments such as coastal surveillance equipments are presented.

  • This paper presents an experimental study for determining the bond performance of lightweight concretes produced using pumice aggregate coated with colemanite-cement paste. For this purpose, eight hinged beam specimens were produced with four different concrete mixtures. 14 mm deformed bars with $10{\Phi}$ development lengths were selected constant for all test specimens. All the specimens were tested in bending and load-slip values were measured experimentally to determine the effect of colemanite-cement coated pumice aggregate on bond performances of lightweight concretes. Test results showed that, colemanite-cement coated pumice aggregate increases compressive strength and bond performance of the lightweight concretes, considerably.

  • Mass reduction of the machine tool movable parts is a tool for achieving lower energy demands of the machine tool operation. The realization of lightweight design in machine tool can be achieved by structural lightweight design and material lightweight design. In this study, topology optimization strategy was applied to design optimized structures of movable parts of 5 axis machining center. The weight of ram which has most significant influence on the stiffness of whole machine tool was reduced without stiffness deterioration. The redesigned optimized ram has 24.2% less weight while maintaining the same displacement caused by cutting force.

  • Cement kiln dust (CKD) is one of the most important waste materials in the cement industry. The large amount of this material, has encouraged researchers to propose new ways to recycle and reuse it. In this paper, effects of adding cement kiln dust to the ordinary Portland cement, on the physical and mechanical properties of ordinary and lightweight concrete were investigated. Results showed that concrete containing CKD, presents lower workability and modulus of elasticity; however, improvements in strength was observed by adding particular amounts of CKD. Eventually, it was found that adding 10% of cement weight CKD is the appropriate percentage for utilizing in manufacturing ordinary and lightweight concrete.

  • The ARX-based lightweight block cipher is widely used in resource-constrained IoT devices due to fast and simple operation of software and hardware platforms. However, there are three weaknesses to ARX-based lightweight block ciphers. Firstly, only half of the data can be changed in one round. Secondly, traditional ARX-based lightweight block ciphers are static structures, which provide limited security. Thirdly, it has poor diffusion when the initial plaintext and key are all 0 or all 1. This paper proposes a new dynamic ARX-based lightweight block cipher to overcome these weaknesses, called DABC. DABC can change all data in one round, which overcomes the first weakness. This paper combines the key and the generalized two-dimensional cat map to construct a dynamic permutation layer P1, which improves the uncertainty between different rounds of DABC. The non-linear component of the round function alternately uses NAND gate and AND gate to increase the complexity of the attack, which overcomes the third weakness. Meanwhile, this paper proposes the round-based architecture of DABC and conducted ASIC and FPGA implementation. The hardware results show that DABC has less hardware resource and high throughput. Finally, the safety evaluation results show that DABC has a good avalanche effect and security.

  • This paper investigates the strength characteristics and stress-strain behaviors of waste fishing net (WFN)-added lightweight soil. The lightweight soil, which consisted of dredged soil, crumb rubber, and cement, was reinforced with WFN in order to increase its shear strength. Glue treated WFN was also added to lightweight soil to improve the interlocking between the soil mixture and WFN. Three kinds of test specimens were prepared: unreinforced lightweight soil, reinforced lightweight soil without glue treatment, and reinforced lightweight soil with glue treatment. Several series of laboratory tests were carried out, including flow value tests, unconfined compression tests, and SEM analyses. From the experimental results, it was found that the peak strength of the reinforced lightweight soil with glue treatment was increased by the increased interlocking between the soil mixture and WFN, which was induced from the bonding effect. The stress-strain relation of the reinforced lightweight soil, irrespective of the glue treatment, showed a more ductile behavior than that of the unreinforced lightweight soil.

  • This paper describes a method to design a lightweight modular bridge for a railway infrastructure system. A lightweight design was achieved using the material selection method. Aluminum extrusions and honeycomb sandwich composites were selected as the best materials to reduce the weight of the upper structure of a conventional modular bridge made of carbon-steel material. The structural integrity of the lightweight modular bridge was evaluated under vertical and wind loads. The twisting and bending natural frequencies were also evaluated to investigate its dynamic characteristics. The results showed that the structural integrity and natural frequencies of the lightweight modular bridge, made of aluminum extrusion and sandwich composites, satisfied the design requirements. Moreover, it was found that the weight of the conventional modular bridge made of carbon steel could be reduced by a maximum of 47% using lightweight materials.

  • As the IoT market continues to grow, security threats to IoT devices with limited resources are also increasing. However, the application of security technology to the existing system to IoT devices with limited resources is impossible due to the inherent characteristics of IoT devices. Various methods for solving related problems have been studied in existing studies to solve this problem. Therefore, this study analyzes the characteristics of domestic IoT authentication standards and existing research to propose an algorithm that applies blockchain-based authentication and lightweight encryption algorithms to IoT equipment with limited resources. In this study, a key generation method was applied using a Lamport hash-chain and data integrity between IoT devices were provided using a Merkle Tree, and an LEA encryption algorithm was applied using confidentiality in data communication. In the experiment, it was verified that the efficiency is high when the LEA encryption algorithm, which is a lightweight encryption algorithm, is applied to IoT devices with limited resources.

In these Paper excluded secure problem about protocol. So Light weight Protocol has weakness of secure in IoT environment. All of IoT devices need encryption algorithm and authentication message code for certain level of security. However, IoT environment is difficult to using existing security technology. For this reason, Studies for Lightweight IPsec is essential in IoT environment. For Study of Lightweight IPsec, We analyze existing protocols such as IPsec, 6LoWPAN for IEEE 802.15.4 layer and Lightweight IPsec based 6LoWPAN. • The TWINE is a new Generalized Feistel Structure (GFS) lightweight cryptosystem in the Internet of Things. It has 36 rounds and the key lengths support 80 bits and 128 bits, which are flexible to provide security for the RFID, smart cards and other highly-constrained devices. Due to the strong attacking ability, fast speed, simple implementation and other characteristics, the differential fault analysis has become an important method to evaluate the security of lightweight cryptosystems. On the basis of the 4-bit fault model and the differential analysis, we propose an effective differential fault attack on the TWINE cryptosystem. Mathematical analysis and simulating experiments show that the attack could recover its 80-bit and 128-bit secret keys by introducing 8 faulty ciphertexts and 18 faulty ciphertexts on average, respectively. The result in this study describes that the TWINE is vulnerable to differential fault analysis. It will be beneficial to the analysis of the same type of other iterated lightweight cryptosystems in the Internet of Things.
