21세기 패션에 나타난 그런지 룩의 표현특성 (Characteristics of the Grunge Look in 21st century fashion)

  • This study intended to analyze the grunge look as a mode of expression and as a characteristic of the fashion of the 21st century, arguing that the look expressed not only an outward appearance or sub-culture but also a change in our attitude and spirit about contemporary fashion. In the study, I carried out an empirical analysis focused on the collection from 2001S/S to 2010F/W and a literature review. In my results, I classified the grunge look into the following categories: 1. mix and match layering; 2. patchwork, collages, and assemblage using all objects as well as clothing materials; and 3. distressing techniques, such as bleaching and dyeing, unweaving, and tears and holes. I also classified the characteristics of grunge into the following categories: 1. conspicuous destitution, which is intentionally expressed by skillful techniques and craftsmanship, indicating that modern people want to attract attention and be distinguished from others, which reflects an attitude of superiority through ironic fashion choices; 2. high lighting the dissolution of decoration, where destruction, poverty and recombination shown in the grunge look emerged as an artificial and intentional ugly aesthetic in contrast to the existing elegant and sophisticated image; and 3. satire and playfulness, as grunge expresses alienation and conflict in modern society through satire and sarcasm, not attacking or avoiding, but through playful and sarcastic engagement so as to decrease poverty and give temporary freedom.

A New Spray Chrysanthemum Cultivar, "Moon Festival" with Vigorous Semi-Double Flower Type and Light-ivory White Petals for Cut Flower

  • A new spray chrysanthemum cultivar, 'Moon Festival' was released by National Horticultural Research Institute (NHRI), Rural Development Administration (RDA), Korea in 2007. A cross was made in 2002 between '01B1-559', a breeding line of NHRI and 'Baeksokuk', a spray cultivar with white petals. Trials were conducted from 2005 to 2007 for evaluation and selection of this cultivar, including shading culture in summer and retarding culture in autumn. The natural flowering time of "Moon Festival" is late October, but year-round flowering is possible by shading and lighting treatment. The cultivar is semi- double type flowers with light-ivory white petals and green flower center. Flower neck and stem are very hardy. The diameter of flower is 67.5 mm. The number of flowers per stem and petals per flower is 11.5 and 100.5, respectively. The days to flowering under the short day is about 54 in autumn season.

  • A new spray chrysanthemum cultivar, 'Golden Festival' was released by National Horticultural Research Institute (NHRI), Rural Development Administration (RDA), Korea in 2007. It was selected from the progenies of open-pollination of 'Torbay' in 2002. Trials were conducted from 2005 to 2007 for evaluation and selection of this cultivar, including shading culture in summer and retarding culture in autumn. The natural flowering time of 'Golden Festival' is late October, but year-round flowering is possible by shading and lighting treatment. The cultivar is semi-double type flowers with bright yellow petals and green flower center. Flower neck and stem are very hardy. The diameter of flower is 56.5 mm. The number of flowers per stem and petals per flower are 12.0 and 93.5, respectively. The days to flowering under the short day treatment is about 50 in spring season.

  • A new spray chrysanthemum cultivar, 'Cherry Blossom' was released by National Horticultural Research Institute (NHRI), Rural Development Administration (RDA), Korea in 2007. A cross was made in 2002 between 'Relance', a spray cultivar with red petals and resistant to white rust and 'Yeonja', a spray cultivar with pink petals. Trials were conducted from 2005 to 2007 for the evaluation and selection of this cultivar, including shading culture in summer and retarding culture in autumn. The natural flowering time of "Cherry Blossom" is late October, but year-round flowering is possible by shading and lighting treatment. This cultivar is single type flowers with dark pink petals and green flower center and resistant to white rust. It is very stable color of petals when the variety is cultivated under high temperature conditions in summer season. The diameter of flower is 55.0 mm. The number of flowers per stem is 10.5 and the number of petals per flower is 24.0. The days to flowering under the short day treatment is about 45 in spring season.

공사현장 근로자의 임시소방시설에 대한 집단 간 Ambivalence 차이분석 (Analysis of Ambivalence Differences among Groups for Temporary Firefighting Facilities of Workers at Construction Sites)

  • 이 연구는 공사현장 근로자의 임시소방시설에 대한 집단 간의 사전 지식을 비교 문제점을 도출하고 그에 맞는 개선방안을 강구하여 화재사고를 미연에 예방하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 소화기의 경우 시공사, 감리원, 협력사 근로자와 소화기 관리책임자를 지정 간 통계적으로 유의하였다. 시공사 공종별로 소화기 관리책임자를 지정이 필요하다고 응답한 소방관리자 87%, 설비감독자 70%로 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었고, 이는 근로자들이 임의로 화기 작업장으로 이동하여 배치하고 작업 후 그냥 방치하는 사례가 많기 때문에 소화기 관리책임자를 지정하고 수시로 점검하고 재배치하는 관리지정이 필요하다. 둘째, 간이소화장치의 경우 시공사, 감리원, 협력사 근로자와 간이소화장치 무단사용 시 벌칙적용 간 통계적으로 유의하였다. 셋째, 비상경보장치의 경우 시공사, 감리원, 협력사 근로자와 임시방송설비로 비상경보음 발생 적용 간 통계적으로 유의하였다. 넷째, 유도등의 경우 시공사, 감리원, 협력사 근로자와 통로유도등 및 비상조명등 연계 적용 간에는 통계적으로 유의하였다. 협력사 공종별로 피난구 유도등과 통로유도등 및 비상조명등 연계 적용은 건축근로자 65%, 전기근로자 55%가 통로유도등 및 비상조명등 연계 적용 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 건축물 구조상 피난구 유도등의 사각지대를 해소하기 위해서 통로유도등 및 비상조명등과 연계 적용하여 출입문의 방향을 먼 거리에서도 쉽게 구별하여 작업자가 인지하여 안전하게 대피하는 장치가 필요하다.

미디어파사드 특성이 문화예술공간의 선호도에 미치는 영향 연구 (The Effects of Characteristics of Media Facade on Customer's Preference)

  • 노동에 몰입하던 삶이 가치와 생활을 중시하는 것으로 변화하면서, 개인은 학습, 지적 욕구 충족, 즐거움, 교류 등을 위하여 문화예술을 소비하거나 참여하고 있다. 최근에는 문화예술공간이 늘어나면서 공간은 문화와 예술을 창조하고 관람하며 교류하는 장소, 문화상품을 소비하는 장소로 탈바꿈하였다. 문화예술공간은 새로운 장르와 기술을 창조하고 개발하여 관람객에게 소통하고 참여하는 기회를 제공하여 미디어 작품을 이해하고 체화할 수 있게 한다. 따라서 미디어파사드는 관람객이 문화공간을 전시와 공연장소가 아닌 짧은 시간에 깊은 인상을 심고 작품과 문화공간에 더 쉽게 다가가고 이해하는 계기를 제공하여 해당 장소를 더 선호하게 만든다. 미디어파사드는 건물 외벽에 LED 조명을 설치해 미디어 기능을 구현하는 것으로서 아름다움과 정보를 전달하는 매개이다. 미디어파사드의 특성이 문화예술공간의 선호도에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위하여 미디어파사드의 특성을 독립변수로, 문화예술공간의 선호도를 종속변수로 하는 연구모형을 수립하였다. 연구 결과 미디어파사드 특성의 디자인적 특성과 매체적 특성은 만족에 영향을 미쳤으며, 미디어파사드 특성의 매체적 특성은 추천과 재관람에 각각 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 문화예술공간에 많은 변화를 예고하고 있음을 시사하고 있다.

  • 조선시대의 기생의 기원과 제도, 기생의 역할, 평양기생학교를 통한 기생의 원래의 의미인 전통적인 조선시대의 아티스트(Artist)임을 재조명하고, 기생학교의 제도와 규칙, 교육과정, 수업시간표, 졸업 앨범, 각종 사진첩을 통해서 조선시대의 기생의 역할과 평양기생학교 등의 재조명 및 분석을 통하여 전통적인 문화를 디지털콘텐츠의 창작소재로 발굴하므로 이를 디지털콘텐츠인 게임콘텐츠, 디지털애니메이션, 드라마, 영화화 할 수 있도록 소재화 하는 것이 본 논문의 목적이다. 특히, 조선의 기생의 아름다움과 아트적인 재능, 사회제도 및 기생학교 등을 발굴하여 원화기획(컨셉 디자인) 및 디지털시나리오 화하므로 경제성이 강한 문화콘텐츠로 발전시키며, 평양기생학교의 교육시스템, 교육내용, 학생 현황 등을 발굴하여 육성 및 경영시뮬레이션 게임의 제작 컨셉 도출 및 게임제작, 애니메이션 및 TV드라마, 디지털 애니메이션 및 영화 제작의 문화콘텐츠의 창작소재로 활용할 수 있도록 제안한다.

홍천읍 송화선(宋化善) 장기(掌記)를 통해 본 20세기 초 한국의 생활 문화 연구 (A study on Living Culture of Korea through accounting records written by Song, Whasun at Hongcheon-Up in early 20th century)

  • An assortment of daily supplies have been documented in and accounting book that Hwa-sun Song, a wholesale dealer in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, sent to Young-hui Sin, a customer. This study analyzed a total of 163 documentations in the accounting book between 1910 to 1916, which includes types of daly supplies, trading volume, and prices, maintained accounting between. Consequently, we are able to indentify companies that produced the applicable goods, names of products, units by which goods were counted, and the lowest and highest prices prevailing, along with kinds of goods patronized in everyday life in Hongcheon in the early 20th century. Paper had the maximum trading volume. The second, most traded were cigarettes, a symbol of the new culture. These were traded under various brand names, such as Kkotpyo, Guksyu, Sanhopyo, Syonghak, and Joil. Foodstuffs, were the third most traded items, including fish, fruits, sugar, Waeddeok, Chilwaeddeok, Color candies and Okchyun candies. Our results indicate that the snack food business had developed since the 19th century. Lighting equipment, oil, candles, matches as well as traditional oil lamps and flints cornered the fourth largest stock being traded. Medications were fifth, with prescriptions written for Insohwan, Hoechyungsan and Siungo, including quinine, a medicine for malaria. Other trades included kitchen appliances such as soup bowls, porcelain bowls, kettles, and drinking cups, and a variety of daily supplies such as mirrors, mats, umbrellas, Geumjiwaemil, hair oil imported from Japan, and soap.

공공디자인의 가로시설물에 대한 해외 사례의 조사 연구 (A Study on the Investigation of Overseas Case in Street Furnitures of Public Design)

  • The purpose of this paper is to find out the investigation of overseas case in Street Furnitures of Public Design. Thus this research regions select among the waterfront cities; Tokyo/Yokohama(Japan), Nies/Cannes(France), Shanghai(China), Vancouver(Canada), in addition to the city of art and romance; Paris. Above all, it is necessary to study concept of public design and definition of street furnitures. The survey data collected from forenamed cities and the items of street furnitures are various installments such as kiosk, bench, bollard, litter-bin, sign board, toilet, bus/taxi station, fence, shelter, lighting column, fountain, telephone-booth, clock-tower, automaton, bicycle stand, playing object etc. In this study street spaces are analysed that is related to regional surroundings and pedestrian's culture. Consequently, design trend of street furniture in foreign case analysis are going into thoroughly modern image as well as checking of form, color, material and maintenance system. According to the above findings, this paper will provide basic data for establishing of the street furniture and improving of public design to the regional citizen, local government officials and regional experts.

Effect of Light/dark Cycles on Wastewater Treatments by Microalgae

  • Chlorella kessleri cultivated in artificial wastewater using diurnal illumination of 12h light/12h dark (L/D) cycles. The inoculum density was 10(sup)5 cells/mL and the irradiance in light cycle was 45$\mu$mol㎡s(sup)-1 at the culture surface. As a control culture, another set of flasks was cultivated under continuous illumination. Regardless of the illumination scheme, the total organic carbon (TOC) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) was reduced below 20% of the initial concentration within a day. However, cell concentration under the L/D lighting scheme was lower tan that under the continuous illuminating scheme. Thus the specific removal rate of organic carbon under L/D cycles was higher than that under continuous illumination. This result suggested that C. kessleri grew chemoorganotrophically in the dark periods. After 3 days, nitrate was reduced to 136.5 and 154.1mg NO$_3$-N/L from 168.1mg NO$_3$-N/L under continuous illumination and under diurnal cycles, respectively. These results indicate nitrate removal efficiency under continuous light was better than that under diurnal cycles. High-density algal cultures using optimized photobioreactors with diurnal cycles will save energy and improve organic carbon sources removal.
