Analysis with Lifting Fan Position of Hybrid UAM Aerodynamic Characteristics (Lifting Fan의 위치가 복합형 UAM의 공력특성에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, the development of UAM, which was named by NASA as an alternative to solve the traffic and environmental problems caused by the rapidly progressing urbanization. When designing UAM, the location of lift fans greatly affects the core technology of the eVTOL type, distributed electric propulsion technology and aerodynamic performance of the vehicle. In this paper, a hybrid UAM model was designed using OpenVSP, an open source aircraft configuration modeling program, and aerodynamic analysis was performed according to the lift fans position change by the vortex lattice method. As a result, it is confirmed that the flight parameters and trailing wakes are stable by fixing the lift fan with the state rotated 0° to the flow direction of the aircraft during cruise flight. Also, OpenVSP is a suitable tool to be used in aircraft configuration modeling and design.

  • A deep seabed integrated mining system consists of a mining vessel, a lifting pipe, a buffer station, a flexible pipe, and a mining robot for collecting manganese nodules. Recently, the concept of multiple mining robots was introduced to enhance to mining productivity. In this paper, the subsystem synthesis method was applied to the deep seabed integrated mining system in order to improve the efficiency of system analysis and to facilitate its extension to the system of multiple mining robots. Large deflections of the lifting and flexible pipe were considered by dividing a flexible pipe into several substructures, and applying flexible multibody dynamics to each substructure. Theoretical study has been carried out for the efficiency of the subsystem synthesis method for the integrated mining system, by comparing the arithmetic operational counts of the subsystem synthesis method with those of the conventional method.

  • Construction techniques for continuous steel bridges were applied to steel-concrete double composite box girder bridges. Concrete depth and length at the bottom of the steel box in the negative moment region were determined by plastic moment region and negative moment region of the double composite section, respectively. Construction methods, such as crane lifting method, free cantilever method, and incremental launching method were used for the analysis of the construction stage. Two cases of the construction phase were considered and analyzed for the stress resultant of double composite girders. The behavior of the nose-deck elastic system was examined by three-dimensionless parameters, such as the nose length, the unit weight of the launching nose, and the flexural stiffness of the nose. The adoption of the launching nose has become an effective solution in the incremental launching of steel-concrete double composite box girder bridges.

Robust Optimal Control of Robot Manipulators with a Weighting Matrix Determination Algorithm

  • A robust optimal control design is proposed in this study for rigid robotic systems under the unknown load and the other uncertainties. The uncertainties are quadratically bounded for some positive definite matrix. Iterative method finding the Q weighting matrix is shown. Computer simulations have been done for a weight-lifting operation of a two-link manipulator and the result of the simulation shows that the proposed algorithm is very effective for a robust control of robotic systems.

  • Hair cut is one of the best useful technical tool for hair styling. In this study using the rule of the layers of hair design, balanced for visual art, perceptual ability and form created by the principles of analysis and offer hair cuts and hair design of the representation of regions and even hair design as the basis of a student of Hair Beauty and all the people working in the field can create a variety of hair design puts the purpose to establish a basis. Finite Element Dynamic Analysis of a Vertical Pile by Wave and Tidal Current (파도와 조류에 의한 수직 파일의 유한요소 동적거동 해석)

  • New dynamic analysis procedures lot the vertically drilled sea water pile are suggested and demonstrated by the typical design Problem. Pile structure submerged in the sea water as well as forces by the ocean waves and tidal currents are modeled and formulated by finite element method. To obtain wave forces for the finite element equation, Airy's wave theory is tested and selected among others. Lateral lifting forces induced by the vortex shedding of current flow is simply based on the harmonic function with the Strouhal frequency and lifting coefficient. Natural frequencies and frequency responses for the pile are calculated by NASTRAN using the results of the formulation. Dynamic displacement and stress results obtained by these procedures are shown to be applicable to predict the dynamic behaviors of the ocean pile by the wave and lifting forces as a preliminary design analysis.
