실천공동체의 관점에서 바라본 학교 ESD 프로젝트 참여 교사들의 경험에 관한 연구 (A Study on Teachers' Experiences in ESD Project of School with Perspective of Community of Practice)

  • The purpose of this study is to look at the elementary school teachers' practical experiences of change and knowledges in promotion of Education for Sustainable Development(ESD) process with Community of Practice(CoP) of teachers and Biographical Approach. ESD project of 'S' elementary school was started by Principal's recognition of further and that was practiced with a common theme over the course through various experiences in educational field with teachers' involvement and finally came to the changes in teachers' personal life and lifelong cognition. Through Community of Practice teachers could look the concept of ESD to a wide field of view and tried various activities in the classroom with students and also, as a further, were able to equip new professional competency with skills. Through the process of learning and experience teachers accepted the ESD philosophy as the engine of life and experienced that their long-term recognition was extended to the whole personal life and the global community.

  • 학습 성과를 기초로 한 공학교육은 반드시 한국공학교육인증원의 인증을 위해서 그 필요성이 존재하는 것은 아니다. 실제 공학 교육에서 교육의 개선과 발전을 위한 매우 유용하고 효과적인 방법임을 부인할 수 없으며 세계적 교육의 대세인 것이다. 본 연구는 학습 성과를 달성하기위한 일반적인 교육 방법과 "평생학습"에 대한 예를 제시하고자 하였다. 학습 성과를 달성하기 위한 순서와 구성요소, 또 교육의 새로운 패러다임인 CQI(continuous quality improvement)를 달성하기위한 소위 "close-the-loop"의 예도 제시하였다.

여성의 피부미용 교육이 건강생활습관 개선에 미치는 영향 -관련 교육 수강생을 중심으로- (The Affection on Improvement of Healthy Life habit toward Skin Care Education for Women -Trainee on Related Education Center-)

  • 본 논문은 피부미용을 공부하고 있는 평생교육원 및 문화센터의 여성 수강자를 대상으로 피부 미용과 건강 전반에 걸친 영향 정도를 교육시키고, 이들이 피부 미용 교육을 통해 그들의 건강 생활습관측면, 특히 생활습관, 운동, 영양을 중심으로 어떤 변화가 있는지 살펴 보고자 한다. 본 연구를 위해 2011년 현재 서울 및 경기도에 위치한 대학 및 문화센터에서 피부미용 관련 과목을 수강하는 여성들을 모집단으로 설정하였으며, 경기도 소재 A,D 대학, H 학원, 서울 소재 M 대학에서 피부 미용 과정 이수자 343명을 실제 분석에 이용하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 피부미용 수강 전후와 건강생활습관 특성의 관계에서 부분적으로 차이를 보였는데, 피부 미용 수강을 한 후 수강자들은 수강하기 전에 비해 수면 습관 및 스트레스 관리가 잘 되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 피부 미용 수강 기간과 건강생활 습관 특성과의 관계에서 긴 시간 동안 피부 미용 교육을 받은 군에서 수면 습관 및 스트레스 관리를 잘 하고 있는 것으로 나타났고, 운동에 있어서도 운동 여부, 강도 시간, 유산소 운동을 더욱 많이 하고 있으며, 영양 면에서도 식사 분배, 칼로리 섭취 제한, 식이 섬유 등을 더욱 많이 섭취하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 피부미용 수강정도와 건강생활 습관 특성의 관계에서 부분적으로 차이를 보였는데, 생활 습관 관리 면, 운동면에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 넷째, 피부미용 수강 빈도와 건강생활 습관 특성의 관계에서는 피부미용 수강을 보다 자주 수강하는 군에서 스트레스 관리를 더욱 잘 하고 있었고, 운동에서도 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 여성들의 피부미용 강좌는 수강자들에게 건강에 대한 관심을 높여 주었고, 전반적인 건강생활습관에 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 보여진다. 따라서 여성들이 평소 관심을 가지고 있는 피부미용과 건강을 접목한 프로그램 개발을 통해 여성들의 전반적인 건강 관리 습관을 개선시킬 수 있고, 이를 통해 한 가정의 건강관리 습관에 주도적인 역할을 하는 여성들의 올바른 건강 관리 행태 확립을 통해 국민 건강에 일조 할 수 있는 토대를 마련할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

Evaluation of End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium-Geriatric Train-the-Trainer Program in Korea

  • Background: Few nurses are trained in palliative care for long-term care in Korea. The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC)-Geriatric training program improves nurses' ability to promote palliative care for the elderly. Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate nurses' satisfaction and knowledge following the attendance at the ELNEC-Geriatric curriculum on nurses' knowledge of palliative care. Methods: Nine ELNEC-Geriatric modules were presented to 203 interdisciplinary professionals on July 1 and 3, 2010, in Seoul, South Korea. The Palliative care quiz for nursing (PCQN) was used to evaluate nurses' knowledge. Of all the participants, 128 nurses were completed the questionnaire. Of these nurses, 45.2% were staff nurses and 73.4% were hospital nurses. Results: Approximately eight nine percent of the nurses reported previous experience in caring for dying patients and attending various hospice palliative care training programs. Overall program satisfaction of the participants was 4.03 on a 5-point scale, and their mean of the total PCQN score was 12.75 out of 20 after participating in ELNEC-Geriatric course, which was a significant improvement (p=.022) from the pretest. Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrate that ELNEC-Geriatric curriculum was successfully implemented and significantly contributed to increasing the nurses' knowledge for palliative care in long-term care in Korea.

한국중년층의 유료노인요양시설에 대한 견해 (The Opinions of Middle Aged Korean about User-Paid Long-Term Care Facilities for Frail Elderly)

  • Although the proportion of frail elderly among the elderly population has been rapidly increasing, there is little preparation to provide housing alternatives for them in Korean society. Long-term care facility a housing alternative for frail elderly that enables them to receive social and medical care services that enhance the quality of their life. This research was conducted to study the opinions of middle-aged Koreans about long-term care facilities for the frail elderly. This study provides useful suggestions for the development of user-paid long-term care facilities in the near future. A survey questionnaire was administered to 600 adults in their 50s to collect data. The sample was stratified according to region, gender, and housing structure type. The results showed that most of the respondents were aware of long-term care facilities for the frail elderly; but they were relatively unwilling to live in these facilities, as compared to other housing alternatives. However, a larger number of respondents said that as they became very frail, they would be willing to live in these facilities. The respondents expressed a high level of need for user-paid long-term care facilities as an alternative to hospitalization. Also, they wanted to have a variety of long-term care facilities that are designed for different levels of disability. The education level of respondents and their spouses, average monthly income, subjective economic level, and religion were major variables that differentiated significantly the opinions about long-term care facilities for the frail elderly.

학교 보건교육의 강화 방안 (Accreditation of Health Education as a Curricular Subject in Schools)

  • Presently, in the countries, such as America and Japan which are better in socio-economical conditions than Korea, in Taiwan which is similar in them to us, and even in Thailand and Philippine which are thought lower in them, health education is taught as one of curricular subjects in elementary and secondary school levels. In Korea, however, the importance of teaching health education as a curricular subject has been recognized among many professionals of health since a long time ago. Along with current rapid development of polytechnique and industry, various kinds of serious health hazard have appeared even in our daily life, so it has been urgently needed that people have comprehensive knowledge and skills to resolve one's own health problems. Among various conditions needed to resolve the health problems in our society, it is one of the most effective precedures that health education is taught as a curricular subject at least in elementary and secondary school levels. For this, the followings are inevitable ; reformation of school health organization and laws involving health, development of teaching materials in health and training of health educators.

성인재무교육에서 경제복지의 주관적 평가에 관한 연구 (Subjective Economic Well-Being of Consumers in Personal Financial Education)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the determinants of financial behaviors and subjective economic well-being in personal financial education through research targeted at adults. The results indicated by the research can be summarized as follows. First, there was a significant difference found in the changes of financial behaviors in accordance with the types of financial education programs, the time period, and the methods of financial education. Second, financial behaviors were higher when participating in profit financial education programs or in workplace financial education programs. Additionally, the increase was higher when participating in long-term programs. Third, the positive effects on subjective economic well-being were financial behaviors, participation in profitable financial education programs, unmarried and income level.

A Novel Human BTB-kelch Protein KLHL31, Strongly Expressed in Muscle and Heart, Inhibits Transcriptional Activities of TRE and SRE

  • The Bric-a-brac, Tramtrack, Broad-complex (BTB) domain is a protein-protein interaction domain that is found in many zinc finger transcription factors. BTB containing proteins play important roles in a variety of cellular functions including regulation of transcription, regulation of the cytoskeleton, protein ubiquitination, angiogenesis, and apoptosis. Here, we report the cloning and characterization of a novel human gene, KLHL31, from a human embryonic heart cDNA library. The cDNA of KLHL31 is 5743 bp long, encoding a protein product of 634 amino acids containing a BTB domain. The protein is highly conserved across different species. Western blot analysis indicates that the KLHL31 protein is abundantly expressed in both embryonic skeletal and heart tissue. In COS-7 cells, KLHL31 proteins are localized to both the nucleus and the cytoplasm. In primary cultures of nascent mouse cardiomyocytes, the majority of endogenous KLHL31 proteins are localized to the cytoplasm. KLHL31 acts as a transcription repressor when fused to GAL4 DNA-binding domain and deletion analysis indicates that the BTB domain is the main region responsible for this repression. Overexpression of KLHL31 in COS-7 cells inhibits the transcriptional activities of both the TPA-response element (TRE) and serum response element (SRE). KLHL31 also significantly reduces JNK activation leading to decreased phosphorylation and protein levels of the JNK target c-Jun in both COS-7 and Hela cells. These results suggest that KLHL31 protein may act as a new transcriptional repressor in MAPK/JNK signaling pathway to regulate cellular functions.

우리나라 교육복지의 방향과 과제 (Directions and Assignments of Educational Welfare in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 사회복지와 교육복지와의 관계를 정립한 후 우리나라 교육복지의 현 실태와 문제점을 파악하고 향후 우리나라 교육복지의 방향과 과제에 대해 살펴본 것이다. 이미 선진국에서는 교육을 사회적 평등장치로 인식하고 인적자본 개발이라는 관점에서 다차원적 접근을 행하고 있으며 학교사회사업가가 배치되어 있으나 우리나라는 교육복지를 체계적으로 추진할 관련법이 미비하고 행 재정적 지원체계가 확립되어 있지 않다. 또한 관련 조직간의 연계, 협력이 부족하고 복지, 교육, 문화가 연계된 통합적, 전문적 서비스가 제공되지 못하고 있다. 우리나라 교육복지의 방향과 과제는 교육복지체제의 구축을 위한 국가의 기능과 책임을 명확히 해야 하며 권리, 투자적 차원에서 접근해야 하며 이를 위한 관련법의 제정 및 행, 재정적 체계가 확립되어야 한다. 또한 교육복지는 모든 사람들을 대상으로 하되 교육취약계층에 최우선 순위를 두어야 하며 그 내용에 있어서는 교육의 기회에서부터 교육의 과정, 결과까지의 평등을 포함해야 할 필요가 있다. 그리고 교육, 복지, 노동이 연계된 다차원적 접근과 관련기관의 긴밀한 협력체계가 구축되어야 하며 평생교육이 강화되어야 한다.

Research and practice of health monitoring for long-span bridges in the mainland of China

  • The large number of long-span bridges constructed in China motivates the applications of structural health monitoring (SHM) technology. Many bridges have been equipped with sophisticated SHM systems in the mainland of China and in Hong Kong of China. Recently, SHM technology has been extended to field test systems. In this view, SHM can serve as a tool to develop the methods of life-cycle performance design, evaluation, maintenance and management of bridges; to develop new structural analysis methods through validation and feedback from SHM results; and to understand the behavior of bridges under natural and man-made disasters, rapidly assess the damage and loss of structures over large regions after disasters, e.g., earthquake, typhoon, flood, etc. It is hoped that combining analytical methods, numerical simulation, small-scale tests and accelerated durability tests with SHM could become the main engine driving the development of bridge engineering. This paper demonstrates the above viewpoint.
