The purpose of this study is to explore the life history of a highly experienced elementary school teacher, Mr. Park and to understand how his science teaching practices have changed throughout his educational career. Using life history interviews with Mr. Park and his life history materials as data sources, a life story of the participant teacher was constructed. The ways teaching changed in the inter-relationship between external and personal factors were then analyzed according to three temporal periods of teaching changes. It was revealed that in the first period of teaching change, Mr. Park changed his science teaching practices by actively accepting influences from external factors, which in turn enabled him to start developing his expertise in student-centered science instruction. By contrast, in the second period of teaching change, Mr. Park strengthened his own ways of teaching while responding critically to the trends of educational change by external factors. In the third and final period of teaching change, Mr. Park made changes in teaching practices by taking advantage of his personal factors to convert influences of external factors into positive ones. Based on these findings, it was suggested that educational policies for teaching changes should be provided in consideration of teachers' life cycles and their expertise and that teachers should make efforts to reflect on the factors for educational change and transform them into positive ones.

This study focuses on the life experience of married women in their 30s to 40s who have experienced parental divorce. For a comprehensive understanding towards the women, this study takes a life history research approach. The participants of this research are 8 women who have experienced parental divorce and are now married with children. The data were gathered through in-depth interviews and were analyzed through the spiral of analysis, following the process of Wolcott's "description, analysis, and interpretation." The results of this study are as follows. First, participants experienced emotions such as fear, anger, and lack of affection. Second, parenting attitude and parental divorce had negative effects on the participants' formation and development of self concept and in turn, participants experienced anxiety and withdrawal from interpersonal relationships. Some had difficulties in concentrating on their schoolwork, which was caused by psychological effects from their instable home environments and some were negligent at school due to their parents' indifference or as an act of rebellion towards them. Third, although participants displayed interest towards the opposite sex, fear towards the opposite sex or unrealistic expectations led to difficulties in forming relationships. Participants also confessed that although they married so that they could escape their original family and form a new happy one, they experienced a rocky start at the beginning of their marriage. Fourth, parental divorce had a lifelong impact on children. Even after the children became adults, parental divorce affected each key stage of transition in life such as dating, choosing one's spouse, marriage, and child rearing. Fifth, participants displayed a strong attachment to life under the assumption that only they themselves can be depended on. This led to their strong commitments to a successful marriage without the possibility of divorce. In conclusion, parental divorce is not a transitory or incidental event. Rather, it becomes a part of the children's lives with lifelong implications.

The purpose of this study is a exploratory study for understanding the process of the social isolation of the socially isolated elderly through the approach to their life history. The research was analyzed by one of the methods of qualitative research on life history, the conceptual framework of 'Dimensions, turning, and adaptation' of Mandelbaum(1973). According to the results of this study, the socially isolated elderly people were found to be socially isolated by experiencing complex difficulties such as family disconnection, poverty, poor job and health deterioration. Specifically, in the area of life, there was experience of poor relationship with parent, absence of family, poverty of family and unfavorable relationship with surrounding people in life with original family before isolation. They had bad jobs in the labor market, such as hard labor, delivery, business, and chores. In the area of turning point, we experienced family break due to the separation of the original family and the spouse due to various reasons such as financial crisis, parental divorce and death, spouse affair, economic difficulty. In a transitional stage in the life, many reasons such as the financial crisis, the death of parents, the extramarital affair and economic difficulties led to the disconnection from their original family and their spouses. In an adaptive phase, participants accepted the changed life at each turning point in their lives, carrying out their roles, compromising and trying to adapt properly. He said that their current life, which has entered the social safety net system of the people's basic recipients, has led him to live a more stable life and is adapting to personal hobbies and vicarious satisfaction through networks. This result is somewhat different from previous studies in which isolated elderly people were severely exposed to the risk of depression and loneliness. However, we should also consider the characteristics of this study that interviewed elderly people with relatively low isolation. Based on the results of this research, he presented various practical policy implications.

A fatigue test was used to evaluate the fatigue life of an actual structure. The loaded state and the constraint condition of an actual structure must be same as the specimen in order to apply the test results to an actual structure by the specimen. The loaded state and constraint conditions can't be same as the specimen in the actual structure which is complicated. In order to reduce these differences, an actual structure test with a lot of frequencies is need to get a fatigue life curve. Therefore, ten sets of accelerated test units which attached unbalanced mass were composed in this study. Acceleration history about the vibration of an actual structure was acquired. Rainflow counting was used on acceleration history, and the life curve return formula was assumed. The return formula that damage satisfied `1' was acquired in a feedback process by the Miner's rule, which was the linear cumulative damage theory. A conservative fatigue life curve was determined with a return formula to have been presumed by each set. The fatigue life of regular rpm condition was calculated by these conservative fatigue life curves.

We live seeing, touching, or throwing on considerable textile in our life consciously and unconsciously. Since a Korean-style house is a dwelling space in life style of sitting on the floor with ondol(Korean floor heater), use of textile is limited to bedding goods. However, as western life style takes firm root, use of textile for interior design is increasing. As well, as apartments and foreign style houses have gotten lodgment since 1980, life style is being changed rapidly. So, textile became required factors in dining space where little textile existed. Through literature, history of textile is considered and design image concept is created based on the consideration. In addition, the created concept can be applied to various textile design, which can be a good tool to express eating culture of the country as well as the country's image.

This study aimed to investigate early life of Coreoperca herzi living in Han River and compare morphological differences between different groups during the development in order to provide basic data for relevant taxonomic research. On average, one female individual spawned 541 to 861 eggs (average 701) at once. After 259 hours, the tail broke out of the egg membrane and hatching began. Immediately after hatching, the larvae were average 7.81±0.10 mm (n=5) in total length. 60 days the juvenile was average 35.9±1.30 mm (n=5) in total length. The white spots spread to the rest of the body, rending the same pattern as that on the body of their broodstock fish.

Field and laboratory works were conducted to Investigate the life history, ginseng damage and chemical control effect of the field slug, Deroceras varians A. Adams. D. varians laid eggs from April to June, but a small number of eggs were also found from July to September in the field. Most young slugs grew through the slimmer months to maturity by October. overwintered beneath the moist soil surface, and began feeding and egg-laying in the following April. indicating that D varians have a life cycle in a year. Damage of ginseng plants by D. varina occurred mainly from late April to mid May in the 3rd to 5th year ginseng fields with rice-straw mulching. It seems that this damage is caused by the adults in oviposition periods and related to rice-straw mulching of ginseng fields. In the experiment, ethoprop 5% granule and metaldehyde 6% bait showed relatively high effectiveness in the control of D. varians adults. Bordeaux mixture was more effective when the chemical was sprayed after infestation of the slug than before the infestation and when the 6-12 mixture was used.

In this study, the fatigue life assessments of steel railway bridge in Japan National Railway were carried out. This railway bridge has been under in service from 1957, and fatigue damages were occurred at bead toe of upper part of vertical stiffeners of stringers, bead toes of scallop in lower part of vertical stiffeners in stringers and crossings of cross beams and stringers. From this study, a series of field tests were carried out by stress history measurement about above mentioned points. And as a results of stress histogram analysis, cummulative fatigue damage rate and fatigue life of these members should be calculate quantitatively. And from this estimation technique, cummulative fatigue damage rate and fatigue life of this railway bridge were strongly affected in passing tonage every year and the histories of live load.

Through the discussions on ascending, descending, in and out of functional activity of Ki, Nature and Life(性命) based on the correlations among essence of life, Ki and vitality, and the Heart which is the complex of heart and place of mental activity, orientation of 'Life(生命)' in "Dongeuibogam" is that heart and body are in a single construction not in two. Although "Dongeuibogam" has the characteristics of substantial discussions about prevalent inner Dan thought in those days in the medical field, it is quoted in the aspect of guiding and leading the Nature and Life(性命). As the nature of heart was developed psycological and physically, we could sense the influences of Confucian-medicine that accounted the Heart which is the place of mental activity and the Sung Confucianism trend of Chosun dynasty.
