학교도서관 이용에 대한 플로우 경험과 만족도의 인과관계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Structural Relationships between Flow Experience and Satisfaction about School Library Use)

  • 국내외의 학교도서관 기준은 학생이 학교도서관을 통해 유익하고 즐거운 경험을 하도록 역할을 수행할 것을 제시하고 있다. 이 연구는 칙센트미하이의 플로우 이론을 학교도서관 이용상황에 적용하여 학생의 플로우 경험이 학교도서관 이용만족도에 미치는 영향관계를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 학교도서관 이용만족도를 종속변수로, 플로우를 매개변수로, 그리고 플로우에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 학교도서관 이용기술, 학교도서관 이용에 대한 도전의욕, 학교도서관 이용형태, 학생의 학습유형을 선정하여 이들 변수 사이의 인과관계를 중심으로 연구모형을 설정하였다. 설문조사는 전국 293명의 학생을 대상으로 실시하였고, 구조방정식 모형을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과 변수의 전반적인 인과관계는 학교도서관 이용기술이 이용유형에 영향을 미치고, 이용유형은 학생의 학습유형에, 그리고 학생의 학습유형은 플로우를 거쳐 학교도서관 이용만족도에 영향을 미치는 구조로 나타났다. 통계분석 결과를 통해 학교도서관의 이용만족도를 높이기 위해서는 학생의 플로우 경험을 확대하고, 도서관 이용기술의 수준을 높일 필요가 있다는 점을 확인하였으며, 그 방안을 사서교사의 구체적 역할과 관련지어 제시하였다.

Comparison of Librarians' Perception on Metaverse According to their Experience in Use

  • As libraries strive to improve their services, many have expressed interest in implementing new technologies. One such technology is metaverse, a virtual-reality space that enables social activities using avatars. However, implementing this technology can be challenging when many librarians are unfamiliar with the concept. This study aimed to investigate how librarians' prior experiences with metaverse influence their expectations and potential use of the technology in libraries. Interviews with a total of 18 librarians were conducted. The study findings reveal that librarians had different conceptualizations of metaverse, regardless of prior experience. However, librarians had different thoughts on the potential use of metaverse for libraries dependent on prior experience. Regarding thoughts on potential use, the librarians who had non-experience running metaverse programs suggested ideas in expanding and trying out new services within metaverse. The librarians who had experience running metaverse programs, on the other hand, suggested focusing on transferring the existing services that are currently being provided in the library to metaverse.

다양한 형태의 웹 탐색도구의 이용자집단간 비교효용성 및 평가에 관한 연구 (The comparative effectiveness and evaluation study of user groups of the various web search tools)

  • The purpose of this study is offering appropriate system and training program to helf the system designer and the trainer in addition to analyze information use behavior about the web search tools and evaluate the estimated system by user groups. The results of the study are as follows $\circledS1$ It is desirable to consider age than other demographic variables in the case of web search tool. $\circledS2$ It is desirable to design Directory Search Tool in the case of web search tool which serves the student user group. $\circledS3$ An Intelligent Search Tool is more appropriate for the students who are using keyword search tool than any other tools. $\circledS4$ A discussion about standard classification of the web information should be accomplished soon because users feel confused in using web search tools due t o absence of standard mode of classification about classified item. $\circledS5$ Librarians need the cognition about data on internet s a source of information and need positive service and user training program about these information because student users hardly get help from librarians or library orientation for learning method to use web search tool. $\circledS6$ Internet use experience and years of computer use had effect on their use ability when using web search tool, whereas computer use experience, library use experience and Online Public Access Catalogs (OPAC) use experience had no effect on it. Especially, OPAC use experience had no effect on use ability of web search tool of student user group because student user groups had no information about internet and web search tool and they did not recognized the difference about search method between web search tool and OPAC. $\circledS7$In the case of web search tool, it si important to index the increasing web resource automatically by a searching robot. But in the case of student users, web search tool is much more needed to index by index expert due to the absence of ability about selecting and combining keyword.

한국에 있어서 사서실습교육의 실태 조사연구 (A Research on the Actual Conditions of Library Practice Education in Korea)

  • 1. Library practice education in Korea is in the form of field experience, that is, Practicum, which is one type of field experience. 2. The practicum is a short-term work experience guided by the academic institutions. (2 to 6 weeks of full time employment in a library, or one to two semesters of approximately 10 to 12 hours weekly) 3. Field work is largely accepted as a required subject. 4. Field work is usually carried out during the first semester of senior year. (or of sophomore year in junior college) 5. Libraries in other universities (or in other institutions) can beused for a student's field work. But the current tendency is to use his or her own university's library. 6. Most universities give one credit for 2 weeks' field work. 7. The method of evaluation is strict: A or 'excellent' (above 90), B or 'good' (above 80), C or 'fair' (above 70), D or 'bad' (above 60). 8. The expense of field work is usually included in the tuition fees. However, some think that an additional fees should be collected in the case of special practice. 9. Respondents to my survey say that the field experience is necessary so that professional librarians can connect theory and practice. 10. They also indicate that there are some problems in library practice education: administrative difficulties in the department chairman's office, the burden on professors in the library being used, and the limited number of libraries in which the field work is practicable. 11. The Department of Library Science is responsible primarily for providing faculty supervision over the students, and secondarily for the preparation of evaluation cards and field work reports. 12. Most of the faculty respondents use evaluation cards for the field work, some of which serve as grade sheets, some as field work diaries, and some as field work reports.

은퇴노인의 도서관 이용 경험에 관한 내러티브 탐구 (A Narrative Inquiry on the Retired Elderly Person's Library Use Experience)

  • 이 연구는 클랜디닌과 코넬리가 제안한 내러티브 탐구방법을 활용하여 은퇴 노인들의 도서관 이용경험을 탐구한 것이다. 도서관이라는 공간을 이용하는 것이 은퇴노인들의 삶에 가져다 준 변화의 구체적이고, 심층적인 내용을 파악하고, 그것이 삶에 가져다주는 의미를 점검하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해서 서울 시내 공공도서관을 이용하는 세 사람의 은퇴 노인을 연구참여자로 선정하여 인터뷰하였고, 이를 바탕으로 현장텍스트를 구성하였다. 현장텍스트를 바탕으로 연구참여자들의 이야기는 소설, 에세이, 편지 형식의 연구텍스트로 재구성되었다. 이들의 도서관 이용 경험은 각각 규칙적인 생활을 위한 거점, 재미와 활력, 새로운 꿈꾸기를 위한 보물창고, 노년을 견디는 위안의 원천으로 해석되었다. 책읽기를 통한 건강한 삶에의 지향이라는 공통점을 발견할 수 있었다. 연구의 결과는 공공도서관의 노인 이용자에 관한 이해를 확충하는 데 유용하고, 서비스 개선을 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있으리라 기대한다.

Usage of Library Collection, Services & Assistance Among Ophthalmologists - An Opinion Survey

  • Accurate and reliable Information improves decision making, reduces costs, and saves time. The ophthalmic Libraries supply quality ophthalmic information to the ophthalmologists to serve the patients in a better way and stimulate the growth of ophthalmic field. This paper aims to study the usage of library collection, services and assistance among the Ophthalmologists - Eye Doctors in India. A survey method is used to obtain the ophthalmologists' usage of library collection, services and assistance. Through convenient sampling method, a structured questionnaire is circulated to the ophthalmologists in India and 633 ophthalmologists are responded. Among the 633 ophthalmologist, 82.15% of the ophthalmologists use the library collection - book. 73.46% of the ophthalmologists use the online data / journals. 89.73% of the ophthalmologists seek assistance to locate books/articles/documents. There exists a significant difference between the ophthalmologists use of Library Service and gender (p value 0.001**). There exists a significant difference between the ophthalmologists use of Library Assistance / help and designation category (p value 0.000**). There exists a significant difference between the ophthalmologists use of Library Assistance / help and working experience (p value 0.017**). There exists a significant difference between Library Services (p value 0.009**), Library Assistance / help (p value 0.000**) and institution type. The study results will help the ophthalmic libraries to serve the user better.

클라우드 기반 도서관 시스템의 사용경험에 대한 사례연구 (A Case Study on the Experience of Using a Cloud-based Library Systems)

  • 본 연구에서는 현재 클라우드 기반 도서관 시스템을 사용하고 있는 국내 도서관들을 사례로 각 시스템의 도입, 전환, 그리고 운영의 과정으로 구분된 사용경험에 나타난 주요 특성과 현안을 조사하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 새로운 시스템들은 기존 시스템의 운영에 따른 문제의 대안으로 도입하게 되었으며, 비용 효율적인 이유로 현재의 제품을 선정하였다고 한다. 둘째, 전환과정의 주요 현안은 데이터의 전환작업, 기존 서비스 기능의 구현, 도서관 내외부 시스템의 연동문제 등이었다. 셋째, 운영과정에서 파악된 주요 장점은 비용절감, 간편한 설치와 자동적인 관리 및 유지보수, 그리고 모바일 기기들에서의 편리한 사용이었다. 주요 단점은 도서관 특성을 반영한 맞춤화의 어려움, 네트워크의 안정성 요구였다. 정보기술 담당사서의 없어진 역할은 시스템 정기점검 및 유지보수 지원 업무이며, 새롭게 생긴 역할은 다양하게 제시되었다. 도입 시스템에 대한 사서와 이용자의 반응은 대체로 불만보다는 만족한다는 의견이었다.

정보활용능력에 영향을 미치는 변인에 관한 연구 (A Study of Variables Affecting the Information Literacy)

  • 본 연구는 수강생의 정보활용능력에 영향을 미치는 요인과 정보활용교육의 교육효과를 분석해보고 그 결과를 바탕으로 향후의 정보활용교육 활성화를 위한 방안을 제시하고자 함에 목적을 두었다. 정보활용교육 수강 전후의 컴퓨터조작기술, 도서관관련지식. 도서관이용빈도 및 정보활용능력의 평균값 차이를 비교하였다. 정보활용교육 수강생의 사전교육경험과 컴퓨터조작기술, 도서관이용지식 및 자료이용빈도가 정보활용능력에 미치는 영향 및 수강생의 수업만족도와 수강 후 견해와의 영향관계를 살펴본 가설 모두 채택되었다. 대학생들의 정보활용능력 향상을 위한 보다 체계적이고 심도 있는 교육 프로그램이 절실히 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

A Study on the Operation of Education Using Library Using Flip Learning Techniques: Focusing on ubiquitous E-learning that reflects gaming elements

  • Purpose - The purpose is to present an efficient library-use education model in the form of flip learning, reflecting traditional teaching methods and gamification elements even in such non-face-to-face and face-to-face situations after COVID-19. Research design, data, and methodology - Research on library use education, research on ubiquitous environment and gamification instructional design, flip the learning, and gamification elements are classified, compared, and analyzed to present educational models for library education, COVID-19 Pandemic situation, and subsequent library use education. Result - We propose an e-learning content development strategy for flipped learning-based library education. First, benchmark and use the existing educational contents. Second, a user-friendly interface is configured so that learners can flexibly organize their learning contents. Third, it allows learners to experience it directly or indirectly in a virtual space. Conclusion - If the e-learning environment can be standardized to the level of schools or educational institutions, a good educational model that can be used not only in library user education but also in other fields will be possible.

Study on Librarian Service Providers' Awareness and Perceptions of Library Services for the Disabled

  • The purpose of this study is to improve library promotional marketing for the disabled by identifying requirements of public library disability services. This study aimed to investigate librarian service providers' awareness of library programs for the disabled in order to prepare a systematic plan for promoting such library services. Research methods used are a literature analysis and survey. First, the ratio of respondents with experience promoting activities and services for the disabled was less than 50%. Second, regarding methods for promoting library disability services, the respondents used library homepages, press releases, library user guides, library newsletters, and library pamphlets in that order. Third, when asked what kind of PR media the library disability service providers had experience with and how often they use it, library boards and banners were the most common response. Fourth, suggested improvements to the current design and content of PR materials included: clearer word choice (or greater understandability), more detailed descriptions, simpler layouts, and more interesting or eye-catching content in that order. Fifth, the library disability services which are in the most need of public relations were guide information for library disability services, Library and Information Service (DOI services and search services), using alternative materials and the library collection, and aiding the information search. Overall, when evaluating the promotion of disability services in Korea, the library's public relations for disabled services needs to improve because currently neither librarians nor the disabled community they are targeting has frequent or quality experience with it. Thus, the policy department for the library disability services must develop a variety of promotional strategies adjusted for each type of the disability and distribute PR materials to service providers individually, making sure to utilize effective PR methods.
