This study aims to investigate trends of internet searching behavior of users of NAVER, a major Korean search portal. In particular, this study analyzed trends of query submission behaviors, behaviors related to typos, multimedia searching behaviors, and click behaviors. In conducting this study, query logs and click logs of unified search service were analyzed. The results of this study show that there were little changes in the topic and length of queries, the pattern of typos, and multimedia seeking behavior over a year's period. However, click counts of documents have gradually increased over time. The results of this study can be implemented to increase the portal's effective development of internet contents and searching algorithms.

This study analyzed the effect of the cognitive style of field dependence/independence to the information-seeking behaviors of 250 undergraduate students. The cognitive style of field dependence/ independence was examined by Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT), information-seeking behaviors were examined by information-seeking performances, and survey for information-seeking behaviors. As a result of the analysis, the cognitive style of field dependence/independence affected items of information-seeking performances except one item among items set in this study. The cognitive style, the cognitive characteristics acting in the process of cognitive activity affected the actual activities of information-seeking behaviors. The cognitive style of field dependence/independence affected the seeking process except the results of seeking and general information-seeking behaviors in the areas of information-seeking behaviors. Therefore, the study of cognitive style can be effective in the seeking process areas of information-seeking behaviors.

This study analyzed the effect of metacognition to the information-seeking behaviors of 250 undergraduate students. For this, metacognition was examined by the inspection form that the Educational Psychology Programs of the Department of Education, at Seoul National University, developed in 2005. The information-seeking behaviors were examined by the observance of the established information-seeking performances and through a survey. As a result of the analysis, metacognition affected the items of the survey for the information-seeking behaviors, excluding one item. As metacognition is the cognitive characteristics acting after the cognitive process, it affected thinking activities that were conducted by the brain. In addition, metacognition affected the seeking process, the results of seeking, and the general information-seeking behaviors. Therefore, the study of metacognition is effective in the overall aspects of information-seeking behaviors including the seeking process, the results of seeking, and the general information-seeking behaviors.

The purpose of this paper is to systematically evaluate the relationship between cancer health literacy and cancer screening behaviors using global data. Following the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses review guidelines, full-text articles published on PubMed, CINAHL, Embase, and Cochrane Library were reviewed until 31 January 2021. The reference lists of all selected studies have been also included. The cancer health literacy and cancer-screening behaviors of the participants aged ≥18 years were assessed. Seventeen studies that met the inclusion criteria were included. The cancer screening behaviors included mammograms, clinical breast cancer examination, Papanicolaou test, colonoscopy, and PSA screening. Eleven studies revealed a statistically meaningful relationship between the cancer health literacy and cancer screening behaviors. Further research should focus on developing effective interventions and guidelines on cancer health knowledge. The research scope of all areas of cancer health literacy and cancer screening behaviors should be extended to improve the cancer screening rates and public health.

The purpose of this study is to suggest present issues and problems in producing educational performance of school library and to manage school library education ordinarily. For this purpose, after searching the principle and main policies related to school library education, we analyzed the previous researches concerned with behaviors and outcomes of school library education. As the results, professional development of human resources, curriculum improvement, modification of promotion and supporting system, and the amendment related to principles are established as political goals before suggesting progress direction and better method.

In this study, the factors of major satisfaction(curricular satisfaction, class satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, cognitive satisfaction, and general satisfaction factors) which influence the employment preparation behaviors were identified by conducting a survey of female college students of the department of library and information science, and whether the feeling of employment efficacy had a moderating effect on the relationship between the the major satisfaction and the employment preparation behaviors were verified. The research results are as follows. First, curricular satisfaction(C.R.=3.847, p<0.001), class satisfaction(C.R.=3.244, p<0.01), relationship satisfaction(C.R.=3.045, p<0.01), and cognitive satisfaction(C.R.=2.464, p<0.05) factors turned out to have a significant positive(+) effect on the employment behaviors of female college students of the department of library and information science. Second, the moderating effect between the high group and the low group in terms of employment efficacy turned out to have a statistically significant moderating effect as the p value was less than 0.05, p = .040. The results of this study may be used as the useful basic data to not only improve the employment rate for the department of library and information science of community colleges in Korea, but also to prepare for the rapidly declining school-age population and the Institutional Accreditation.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the spatial characteristics of the children's library and user's behavioral characteristics and to empirically analyze the difference in preference of the spatial characteristics based on the using behaviors. For doing this, this study selected 16 children's libraries in the country as a sampling institute and collected and analyzed 661 questionnaires targeting infants, and the lower and upper graders. The results of analysis are as follows. First, while there was a difference in the relation between the spatial characteristics and the user's characteristics according to ages and sexes, there was no difference in the developing stage. Second, there was a difference in the relation between the spatial characteristics and the using behaviors. Detailed results are as follows. While users who visit the library for reading prefer amenity and peacefulness, those who visit the library for other reasons prefer communication and territoriality. Children prefer diversity, peacefulness and communication when they visit in group rather than to visit individually. In terms of behavioral patterns, users who act quietly prefer diversity than those who act actively. Reading use frequency, as the number of times to visit increased, preference on esthetic sense, dynamics, flexibility, leisure, communication and territoriality increased, but preference on safety decreased. As the length of visit became longer, preference on diversity, self-esteem, peacefulness, dynamics and flexibility increased.

This study presented the factor analysis on constructing the new factors affecting the middle school students' online learning behaviors from the questionnaires employed among middle school students. A total of 204 students participated and the data were collected in South Korea. The sample of middle school ninth-grade students was selected and used through purposive sampling. Findings from the factor analysis provided evidence for the eight-factor solution for the 35-items accounting for 66.15% of the shared variance. A wide range of factors has been considered to identify students' online learning behaviors. The appropriate experience and use of e-learning in the middle school period is also important as it will be a critical stepstone for future education. This research provides information that has been taken into account for advancing online learning to enhance the quality of e-learning systems for middle school students. The study results provided eight new factors affecting the middle school students' online learning behaviors; that is 1) communication using social media as a learning tool, 2) intention to share information using ICT, 3) addiction of technology, 4) adoption of technology, 5) seeking information using ICT, 6) use of social media learning, 7) information search using ICT, and 8) immersion of technology. This study confirmed that middle school students prefer communication using social media as a learning tool, and value intention to share information using ICT for the most part. The data obtained based on factor analysis can highlight the online learning behaviors towards a mixture of social media learning and ICT to ensure a new educational platform for the future of e-learning. This research expects to be useful for both middle schools of online learning to better understand students' online learning behaviors and design online learning environments and information professionals to better assist students who particularly need digital literacy.

This study analyzes in detail the specific complaints of the dissatisfied public library users in Taegu Metropolitan city, with regard to materials, facilities, information services and staffs of the libraries. It also analyses the relatedness of complaining behaviors, complaints and demographic factors including gender, age, occupation, income, and education.
