Currently, due to the rapid increase in power demand and the increase in capacity of power converters, the capacity of electromagnetic contactors is also increasing, and the burden on SMPS for the power that can drive them is increasing. Although the initial starting operation current of an electromagnetic contactor is significantly larger than the holding current for maintaining contact, most electromagnetic contactors apply the same voltage as the initial starting operation. An electromagnetic contactor must continuously apply a holding current to maintain the contact point, and the larger the capacity, the larger the current must be applied. This paper proposes a two-level magnetic contactor drive that allows setting the initial starting operation current to fully attach the contact point of the magnetic contactor and the holding current to maintain subsequent operation. In addition, a low-cost drive topology of analog and digital methods was proposed for various field applications, and an algorithm based on the ripple of the excitation current was proposed to determine whether the magnetic contactor was opened or closed without using a separate contact point. The feasibility of the proposed method was proven through Psim simulation experiments.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to assess the complications, duration of admission, cost effectiveness, radiologic stabilization of the anterior cervical bone fusion in the treatment of cervical disc disease with and without plating. Materials and Methods : Fifty-two surgically treated patients for cervical disc disease were reviewed. Group I consisted of consecutive treated patients with iliac auto-bone graft without instrumentation after anterior cervical discectomy. Group II consisted of consecutive treated patients with iliac autologous-bone graft with CASPER cervical plate fixations. Radiologic fusion was decided when loss of end plate boundary between graft bone and vertebral body and immobile, maintenance of the disc space were evident on simple dynamic plain films. The patients were discharged after the stabilization of cervical motion by films was of tained. These groups were analysed multiple variably with Mann-Whitney U-test. Results : Group I consisted of 18 patients, group II consisted of 34 patients. Mean age was $49.0{\pm}8.1years$, mean duration of admission was $17.27{\pm}10.51days$, mean costs for treatment was $1,970,000{\pm}475,000won$. In group I, mean age was 47.7(34-60) years, 16 patients had undergo on one-level operation, 2-patients had undergo on two-level operation, mean duration of admission was $28.7{\pm}10.4days$, mean costs for treatment was $2,194,473{\pm}561,639won$. The periods of stabilization was $6.6{\pm}3.36weeks$ on radiologic study. Mean periods of out patient follow up was 16.8(6-64) weeks after discharge. Mean period of radiologic follow up was 17.3(4-6) weeks after surgical operation. In group II, mean age was 49.7(37-62) years and 18 patients one-level operation, 14- patients had undergo on two-level operation and 2-patients three-level operation. Mean duration of admission was $11.24{\pm}3.29days$, mean costs for treatment was $1,850,823{\pm}389,372won$. The periods of stabilization was $5.88{\pm}7.07weeks$ on radiologic study. Mean period of out patients follow up was 16.7(4-60) weeks after discharge. Mean period of radiologic follow up was 12.4(3-52) weeks after surgical operation. The duration of admission showed statistical significance in Group II but other items showed no significant difference between two groups. Conclusions : The more economic, early life return and effective method of cervical disc disease in our series were evident in patients who had undergone, iliac bone graft and plate fixations after anterior discectomy.
Low-temperature drying systems have been extensively used for drying cereal grain such as shelled corn and wheat. Since the 1973 energy crisis, many researches have been conducted to apply solar energy as supplemental heat to natural air drying systems. However, little research on rough rice drying has been done in this area, especially very little in Korea. In designing a solar drying system, quality loss, airflow requirements, temperature rise of drying air, fan power and energy requirements should be throughly studied. The factors affecting solar drying systems are airflow rate, initial moisture content, the amount of heat added to drying air, fan operation method and the weather conditions. The major objectives of this study were to analyze the effects of the performance factors and determine design parameters such as airflow requirements, optimum bed depth, optimum temperature rise of drying air, fan operation method and collector size. Three hourly observations based on the 4-year weather data in Chuncheon area were used to simulate rough rice drying. The results can be summarized as follows: 1. The results of the statistical analysis indicated that the experimental and predicted values of the temperature rise of the air passing through the collector agreed well. 2. Equilibrium moisture content was affected a little by airflow rate, but affected mainly by the amount of heat added, to drying air. Equilibrium moisture content ranged from 12.2 to 13.2 percent wet basis for the continuous fan operation, from 10.4 to 11.7 percent wet basis for the intermittent fan operation respectively, in range of 1. 6 to 5. 9 degrees Centigrade average temperature rise of drying air. 3. Average moisture content when top layer was dried to 15 percent wet basis ranged from 13.1 to 13.9 percent wet basis for the continuous fan operation, from 11.9 to 13.4 percent wet basis for the intermittent fan operation respectively, in the range of 1.6 to 5.9 degrees Centigrade average temperature rise of drying air and 18 to 24 percent wet basis initial moisture content. The results indicated that grain was overdried with the intermittent fan operation in any range of temperature rise of drying air. Therefore, the continuous fan operation is usually more effective than the intermittent fan operation considering the overdrying. 4. For the continuous fan operation, the average temperature rise of drying air may be limited to 2.2 to 3. 3 degrees Centigrade considering safe storage moisture level of 13.5 to 14 perceut wet basis. 5. Required drying time decrease ranged from 40 to 50 percent each time the airflow rate was doubled and from 3.9 to 4.3 percent approximately for each one degrees Centigrade in average temperature rise of drying air regardless of the fan operation methods. Therefore, the average temperature rise of drying air had a little effect on required drying time. 6. Required drying time increase ranged from 18 to 30 percent approximately for each 2 percent increase in initial moisture content regardless of the fan operation methods, in the range of 18 to 24 percent moisture. 7. The intermittent fan operation showed about 36 to 42 percent decrease in required drying time as compared with the continuous fan operation. 8. Drymatter loss decrease ranged from 34 to 46 percent each time the airflow rate was doubled and from 2 to 3 percent approximately for each one degrees Centigrade in average temperature rise of drying air, regardless of the fan operation methods. Therefore, the average temperature rise of drying air had a little effect on drymatter loss. 9. Drymatter loss increase ranged from 50 to 78 percent approximately for each 2 percent increase in initial moisture content, in the range of 18 to 24 percent moisture. 10. The intermittent fan operation: showed about 40 to 50 percent increase in drymatter loss as compared with the continuous fan operation and the increasing rate was higher at high level of initial moisture and average temperature rise. 11. Year-to-year weather conditions had a little effect on required drying time and drymatter loss. 12. The equations for estimating time required to dry top layer to 16 and 1536 wet basis and drymatter loss were derived as functions of the performance factors. by the least square method. 13. Minimum airflow rates based on 0.5 percent drymatter loss were estimated. Minimum airflow rates for the intermittent fan operation were approximately 1.5 to 1.8 times as much as compared with the continuous fan operation, but a few differences among year-to-year. 14. Required fan horsepower and energy for the intermittent fan operation were 3. 7 and 1. 5 times respectively as much as compared with the continuous fan operation. 15. The continuous fan operation may be more effective than the intermittent fan operation considering overdrying, fan horsepower requirements, and energy use. 16. A method for estimating the required collection area of flat-plate solar collector using average temperature rise and airflow rate was presented.

In this paper, we propose the acceleration method of the DDR-SSD RAID level 5. The DDR-SSD is the storage device of the Next Generation Storage(NGS) system. The DDR-SSD has different characteristics with HDD and Flash SSD. That's why the DDR-SSD RAID level 5 does not provide the best performance when the normal acceleration method is used. In this paper, to accelerate the DDR-SSD RAID level 5 operation, we propose the parity cache and the architecture of the parity cell. The parity cache stores only parity blocks. This acceleration method proposed in this paper reduce the number of the disk access and the overhead of parity operations.
AC to DC single phase PWM converter for traction application requires rated high power and voltage. Therefor, series or parallel operation converters are necessary with considering the limitation of the power device specification. This paper compares the characteristic between two parallel operation of conventional PWM converter and Single phase three level converter about comparison of power circuit, cooling system control method and harmonic current by computer simulation.

Clock selection has a significant impact on the performance and quality of designs in high-level synthesis. Almost systems require that the clock length is required prior to scheduling, the best value of the clock can be found only after evaluating different schedules. In this study, we presents a scheduling method that works simultaneously with synthesis by selecting a clock from a chainable operation set. Our scheduling algorithm is based on list scheduling and executes chaining considering bit level delays based on selected clock period. Experimental results show that our method improves the performance by 18 percent.

Paper process is complex and multivariable system. Identification of a paper process model is imperative for the development of predictive control method. 13-level Pseudo-Random Sequence Signals were used to identify the plant model in which the neural network model was considered model as a real paper process. Results of simulations for identification using 13-level PRS signals and Prediction Error Method are compared with plant operation data. From the comparison, we can see that the dynamics of the model show good agreement with those of real plant.
The output characteristics of VSI by transistor depend upon bias signal with drive circuit. As the CTI is one of the VSI, takes case PWM output voltage. This Inverter operation is based upon position and negative of sinusoldal PWM signal by carrier triangular wave and compared sine one. Besides, the Inverter operation system required digital signal for microprocessor, sampling method of Inverter driver signals study for get rid of generated signal is error. In the paper, the method of 3 level PWM signal for CTI was studied. This method of signals depend upon caculated switching position of natural sampling with $10^{-6}$ modulation error for time flowchart programs.
The control objective of steam generator water level in the secondary circuit of a nuclear power plant is to regulate the water level at the desired set point. The dynamics of steam generators is non-linear in nature. The task of modelling such plant is very difficult and especially so when plant operating conditions change frequently. In these reasons, conventional PI gains over all pover range will not work efficiently and a manual control is generally used in low power operation. Therefore the robust H$\infty$ controller design method should be required. In this paper, we design the robust H$\infty$ controller for water level control of steam generator using a mixed H$\infty$ optimization with model-matching method. Firstly we choose the desired model that has good disturbance rejection performance. Secondly we design a stabilizing controller to keep the model-matching error small and also provide sufficiently large stability margin against additive perturbations of the nominal plant.
