Objectives The purpose of this study was to report the improvement of elderly patient's severe anorexia including low blood pessure and cold hypersensitivity of hands and feet after treatment with Osuyubujaijung-tang. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the medical records. This patient was diagnosed Soeumin lesser yin symptom according to Sasang constitutional medicine. He treated by Osuyubujaijung-tang. Results and Conclusions A patient with anorexia, low blood pressure, cold hypersensitivity of hands and feet, dizziness, general weakness showed the improvement of symptoms with treatment after Osuyubujaijung-tang.

Objective: This study aimed to report the improvements of with nummular eczema treated using Osuyu-tang based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods: According to the disease pattern identification diagnostic system based on the the patient was diagnosed with lesser-yin disease. The patient was treated with Osuyu-tang for 60 days. The severity of the patients' pruritus decreased, and changes in symptoms were assessed using visual analogue scale score and vIGA-AD^TM Results: The patients' symptoms improved, pruritus decreased, and abrasion healed. Conclusions: The results suggest that the words on the 309th provision of Shanghanlun are a direct cause of nummular eczema.

Objective: This study aimed to report the improvement of a patient with nummular eczema treated with Hoeyeok-tang based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods: According to the disease pattern identification diagnostic system (DPIDS) based on the Shanghanlun provisions, the patient was diagnosed with lesser yin disease according to the 324^th provision. The patient was treated with Hoeyeok-tang for 90 days. The severity of pruritus decreased, and changes in symptoms were estimated by a visual analog scale, Scoring Atopic Dermatitis Index and the Validated Investigator Global Assessment for Atopic Dermatitis. Results: The patient's symptoms were improved. The severity of pruritus decreased and they recovered from abrasions. Conclusions: This study suggests that the 324^th provision of Shanghanlun refer directly to nummular eczema.

Study of the fourteen meridians that include name of P'ung(風) point. The results were summarized as follows. 1. Pyongp'ung(秉風) is located middle of the supraspinatous fossa(Small intestine Meridian, 手太陽小腸經). we can cute the local area disease and also use to cure the pathway of the Arm greater yang small intestine which is attacked by P'ung(風) disease. 2. Yep'ung(翳風) is located behind the lobule of the auricle, in the depression between the mastoid process and the mandible(Triple Energizer Meridian, 手少陽三焦經). we can cure the local area disease especially hyper yang disease and also use to cure the pathway of the Arm lesser yang triple energizer which is attacked by P'ung(風) and Yo'l(熱) disease. 3. P'ungmun(風門) is located 1.5 chon beside the lower end of the spine of the second thoracic vertebra(Bladder Meridian, 足太陽膀胱經). we can cure the local area disease and also use to cure the pathway of the Leg greater yang bladder which is attacked by P'ung(風) disease. 4. P'ungbu(風府) is located 1 chon above the middle of natural line of the hair at the back of the head, in the depression below the occiptal protuberance(Governor meridian, 督脈). It connects (Liver meridian, 足厥陰肝經) and Yin Link Vessel(陽維脈). we can cure the rigidity and pain in head and nape which is related Yin Link Vessel(陽維脈). 5. P'ungshi(風市) is located on the lateral part of the thigh, 7 hon above the patella(From the greater trochanter to the knee joint is 19 chon, Gallbladder Meridian (足少陽膽經). we can cure the local area disease(leg, knee, etc). 6. P'ungji(風池) is located Below the occipital bone, in the depression on the outer part of the trapezius muscle(Gallbladder Meridian, 足少陽膽經) on a level with P'ungbu(風府) (Governor vessel, 督脈). we can cure the local area disease and also use to cure the pathway of the Leg lesser yang gall bladder which is attacked by P'ung(風) disease.

This experiment was designed to investigate the effect of the ODTCMT and DDTCMT extract on protecting microglia and inhibiting acetylcholinesterase and oxidants. The effects of the ODTCMT and DDTCMT extract on cell death of BV2 microglial cell line treated by $IFN-{\gamma}$ ; expression of NO, ROS in BV2 microglial cell line treated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) ; AChE activity in PC-12 cell treated by NGF were investigated, respectively. The ODTCMT and DDTCMT extract significantly increased cell viability in BV2 microglial cell line treated with $IFN-\nu$. The ODTCMT and DDTCMT extract suppressed the NO and RDS production in BV2 microglial cell line treated by LPS. The ODTCMT and DDTCMT extract groups also showed inhibition of AChE activity in PC-12 cell line. According to the above result, it is suggested that the ODTCMT and DDTCMT extract might be usefully applied for prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the interpretation of the Daeseunggi-tang(DST) in order to obtain the evidence for clinical applications.Methods and Results : We have analyzed the interpretation on the DST through translations and comparisons based on classic books about the oriental medical prescriptions.Conclusion : 1. 'Dae(大)' in DST means 'strong symptoms' or 'strong efficacy'. 'Seung(承)' in DST means 'smooth (順)', 'attach(連)' and 'serve(奉)'. 2. The main pathogenesis of DST's syndrome are heat binding(熱結)·qi stagnation(氣滯). 3. The main areas where disease pattern of DST is 'Yang brightness(陽明)'. It is also associated with 'Lesser yin (少陰)', 'Qi aspect(氣分)·Blood aspect(血分)' and 'Triple Energizer(三焦)'. 4. Laxative the Rhei Radix et Rhizoma(大黃) is sovereign medicinal(君藥) of DST, because of removing the heat binding(熱結) and the heat that spread throughout the body.

The BianMaiFa chapter, which is the first chapter of SongBon ShangHanLun, is the scholarly description(專論) of the pulse and pathological mechanism but has not been studied and published yet. This study is about article 11-23 which is the second part of The BianMaiFa chapter. We compared the original texts within the editions, comparing and analyzing the annotations of successive dynastic medical group. The articles of The SongBon ShangHanLun BianMaiFa chapter 11-23 is consisted as is shown: article 11 12 13 state about a dignosis of yin-yang, deficiency-excess, fluid-humor from difference of a pulse shape and a sign of recovery from a disease, article 14 states about a prognosis of a disease according to a pulse, article 15 states about a pulse from which we predict a recovery, article 16 states about normal pulse according to season, article 17 states about ups and downs of a disease according to yin-yang of day and night, article 18 states about a location of a disease in connection with a pulse, article 19 states about a pathological mechanism of a diarrhea through a anterior tibial pulse(趺陽脈), a lesser yin pulse(少陰脈), article 20 states about a cause of disease, a symptom, a therapy about a floating and tight pulse(浮緊脈), article 21 states about a pathological mechanism of symptoms through a anterior tibial pulse(趺陽脈), article 22 states about a pulse, a pathological mechanism, symptoms caused by erroneous treatment, article 23 states about a pulse, a symptom, a therapy with internal heat. The BianMaiFa chapter 11-23 discussed a diagnosis, a prognosis of a disease, understanding of pathological mechanism through pulse. And The BianMaiFa suggests a various use of pulse.

This study searched fundamental basis of four-constitution medicine from the principle of "Yeokgyeong(易經)" that is scientific foundations of Dongmu(東武) Ijema(李濟馬)'s four-constitution medicine based on system of "Yeokgyeong(易經)" and looked into the principle of our-constitution medicine ontologically. That is to say, the translation of five phase(五行) that represented in "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)" regulated that substance of five phase is spleen-earth(脾土). But four-constitution medicine mentions the substance as heart-earth(心土) in place of spleen-earth. Because of it's standpoint, the differences on meanings between spleen-earth and heart-earth on the substance of five-phase becomes motive to interpret scientific system of four-constitution medicine fundamental wrongly. For that reason, the research of this title is needed. The results was summarized as follows. First, in ontological view point of structure of four-constitution, five phase is substance and phenomenon, in other words it includes earth of unrevealed substance and wood, fire, metal and water of self-manifestation of existence. Second, in axiological view point, the four-constitution represent principles and contents of four virtues of human nature. And so the innate four virtues ontologically based on four-constitution of heaven. Therefore a human being is endowed innately benevolence, courtesy, justice, intelligence of four virtues. Third, the concept of greater and lesser of Eum(陰, yin) and Yang(陽, yang) in Dongmu(東武)'s four-constitution medicine is four-constitution in "Yeokgyeong(易經)". Greater principle(太極) and four-constitution is a relation of substance and phenomenon. Fourth, the origin and structure of four-constitution medicine includes the structure and principle of natural philosophical Eumyang and four-constitution, the human-centric theory and sciences of human nature and natural laws and medical experience of traditional oriental medicine and medical principle.
