In optical storage device system, there are several research topics to increase its recording density. The main idea is reducing wave length of laser diode and magnifying the number of numerical aperture (NA). In conventional optical system NA cannot be over the unity in the air because of its diffraction limit. But it is possible to overcome its limitation of unity in near field using Solid Immersion Lens. In this work, the mathematical Solid Immersion Lens (SIL) design process was illustrated by using near field theory. Also, numerical SIL design parameters were calculated by means of CODE V. Through the work, we propose the new type of SIL for high density optical recording systems.
As consumer in optics, electronics, aerospace and electronics industry grow, the demand for ultra precision aspherical surface lens increases higher. To enhance the precision and productivity of ultra precision aspherical surface micro lens, the following specification of ultra precision grinding system is required: the highest rotational speed of the grinder is 100,000rpm and its turning accuracy is $0.1{\mu}m$, positioning accuracy is $0.1{\mu}m$. The development process of the grinding system for the ultra precision aspherical surface micro lens for optoelectronics industry is introduced. In the work reported in this paper, an intelligent grinding system for ultra precision aspherical surface machining was designed by considering the factors affecting the surface roughness and profiles accuracy. An aerostatic form was adopted to build the spindle of the workpiece and the spindle of grinder and ultra precision LM guide way was adopted in this system.

Infrared (IR) optic lens can be fabricated by a single point diamond turning (SPDT) machine without subsequent polishing process. However, this machining process often leaves micro-cracks that deteriorate the surface quality. In this work, we propose an experimental design to remove micro-cracks on IR lens. The proposed design gathered data between cutting process condition and Rt surface roughness. This is of great importance because the scale of micro-cracks is a few micrometer. Rt surface roughness is suitable for analyzing maximum peak height signals of the profile. The experimental results indicate that feed per revolution variable is one of the most dominant variable, affecting the generation micro-cracks on IR lens surfaces.
In this study, the cause of the decrease in transmittance of the outer lens among the causes of the decrease in the amount of light in the automobile headlamp was identified, and the improvement method was selected to determine the effect. The causes of defects that lower the transmittance of the outer lens are divided into a moisture problem and a haze problem. The moisture problem is caused by the temperature difference between the inside and the outside of the head lamp, and the haze problem occurs when the heat inside the head lamp evaporates the haze component contained in the plastic material and attaches it to the outer lens. In order to improve the haze problem that occurs in plastic raw materials, the structures of the bulb light source type headlamp and the LED chip light source type headlamp were analyzed. Among them, the housing material of the LED chip light source type headlamp, which is structurally prone to haze gas, was selected as the test target. In the mass-production injection process of the housing, the drying process was selected as a method to minimize haze gas without adding a separate production process. After extracting a sample every drying time at a constant drying temperature, the sample was put into a haze tester and the residual amount of haze gas was measured. As a result, it was confirmed that the residual amount of Haze gas in the material decreased as the drying time increased.
Purpose: A soft contact lens was manufactured by adding naringin known as natural anti-bacterial material to resin solution. With solution eluted from manufactured contact lens, we examined its optical properties, physical and chemical states of naringin in the polymer, and elution properties. Methods: The soft contact lens with naringin was synthesized by bulk polymerization method. IR spectrum and HPLC were used to define the bonding type of naringin itself in the soft contact lens contained naringin, elution process of naringin to the saline solution, and the amount of naringin solution eluted from the lens with elapsed time. Results: Naringin was continuously eluted with constant concentration from the soft contact lens for about a month and the structure ofnaringin which is eluted was as same as before it was added to resin solution. Any change in optical properties such as transmittance couldn't be found. Bonding state and the structure of naringin in contact lens were explained with IR spectrum and HPLC results. Conclusions: In the contact lens with naringin, naringin remained in the contact lens bonding with weak hydrogen bonding and/or van der Waals force between naringin and polymer. Naringin was continuously eluted from the contact lens contained naringin during about 1 month. Even after 1 month, it showed that the concentration of the naringin eluted was approximately 10 ppm in a day. From the results, adding naringin to the soft contact lens resin is very effective method for manufacturing the soft contact lens which has anti-bacterial function for a period of time.

This study is focused on simulation technology in injection molding process for plastic optic lenses. The CAE program, $3D-TIMON^{TM}$ is used for the injection molding simulation with O-PET resin material. The design for different gate shape and runner layout has been under review by CAE simulation results. Moreover, the prediction of birefringence and polarized light in injection molded optic lenses has been tested by the CAE Program. The simulation results have been expected to effectively use in the design of injection molding mould.
As a first step in the optical design process, we derive a recursive numerical calculation method that can give a solution to the Gaussian equation that the paraxial rays satisfy. Given the refractive power, the angle of incidence to the first principal plane of the lens, the angle of exit to the second principal plane of the lens, and the distance between the principal planes, the radii of curvature of the front and back surfaces of a lens can be obtained by applying the recursive numerical calculation method proposed in this paper according to the thickness of the lens. If a module consists of two or more lenses, the thickness and radius of curvature of each lens can be similarly determined after selecting the distance between the principal planes of the lens under the condition of the design specification while increasing the number of lenses one by one.
The soft contact lens was very simple technique in handling, good sensation in fitting, good effect of a beauty, and good attachment state on the cornea in physical movement. So that, the subjects have used the correct of visual acuity. If the contact lens handling have not skill, they have acquired the side effect on eye. To analysis of a study of ultrastructure on soft contact lens surface of incubated P. aeruginosa. We have observed the soft contact lens surface by SEM. We have founded the good technical method. On the method of sample process of manufacture, the best observation of samlpe tissue was $OsO_4$ postfixation and tannic acid treatment. In this case, P. aeruginosa was a rod shape and one cilia in ultrastructure and the identification was very good. But, On the process of manufacture have not used the $OsO_4$ and tannic acid treatment, this tissue sample appeared the foreign body materials and artifacts, and the identification of the P. aeruginosa was very difficult.
We studied the method which would determine the appropriate additive damping factor for the damped least sequres(DLS) optimization. We calculated eigenvalues of the product of the Jacobian matrix of error function by using the singular value decomposition(SVD) method. While suitable damping factor was appiled to the additive DLS by using SVD and Gaussian elimination method, the convergence and stability of the optimization process were examined in a triplet-type camera lens-system where the condition number is well conditioned. We compared the convergence and stability of merit function when median, maximum and minimum of eigenvalues were used as a damping factor in the optimization process. When damping factor is median of eigenvalue, the convergence and stability of merit function are more excellent than in the case of two other eigenvalues. Thus, we adopt the median of eigenvalues as an appropriate damping factor. Next, by using SVD and Gaussian elimination method, we compound the convergence and stability of optimization process for triplet-type camera lens-system design. In these two method; triplet-type camera lens-system in which condition number is well conditioned, has little improvement with the combination of DLS and SVD.

Recently, due to the tremendous growth of media technology, demands of the aspheric glass lens which is a high-performance and miniaturized increase gradually. Generally, the aspheric glass lens is manufactured by Glass Molding Press (GMP) method using tungsten carbide (WC) mold core. In this study, the thermal deformation which was occurred by GMP process was analyzed and applied it to compensate the aspheric glass lens. The compensated lens was satisfied that can be applied to the actual specifications.
