  • Air gap control method using a conventional actuator for near field recording technology has been reported. To achieve good performance in the air gap servo and further experiments, the assembling between OL and SIL is the critical procedure. A lens set with NA 1.45 at 405 m has been assembled and tested by using a Twyman-Green interferometer. The tolerance of assembling is very tight and the designing and adjusting procedure must be carefully controlled.

  • We have designed and fabricated a thermal scanning electron microscopy. It includes an electron source, two condenser lenses, one objective lens, a scanning coil and a stigmator coil for focusing in column and also have a secondary electron detector for constructing the image in chamber with a high vacuum condition and control part for operating the SEM. Especially, in order for us to find out the optical characteristics, our attention and studies have been concentrated on the effects of two condenser lenses and one objective lens for high resolution with SEM. Finally, we developed a high resolution thermal scanning electron microscopy.

  • The present study covers numerical analysis of a thermionic scanning electron microscope(SEM) column. The SEM column contains an electron optical system in which electrons are emitted and moved to form a focused beam, and this generates secondary electrons from the specimen surfaces, eventually making an image. The electron optical system mainly consists of a thermionic electron gun as the beam source, the lens system, the electron control unit, and the vacuum unit. For a systematic design of the electron optical system, the beam trajectories are investigated through numerical analyses by tracing the ray path of the electron beams, and the quality of resulting image is evaluated from the analysis results.

천장 외곽선 전체 검출에 의한 모바일 로봇의 위치 인식 (Localization of Mobile Robots by Full Detection of Ceiling Outlines)

  • In this paper, we propose a new localization system using ceiling outlines. We acquire the entire ceiling image by using fisheye lens camera, and extract the lines by binarization and segmentation. The optical flow algorithm is then applied to identify the ceiling region from the segmented regions. Finally we obtain the position and orientation of the robot by the center position and momentum of ceiling region. Since we use the fully detected outlines, the accuracy and reliability of the localization system is improved. The experimental result are finally presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Confocal scanning microscopy (CSM) has been reported as an excellent method using the optical probe in scanning probe microscopy (SPM). Transmission or reflection confocal scanning microscopy (TCSM, RCSM) has been used in the three-dimensional reconstruction of specimen or the non-destructive measurement in vivo. The axial movement of the primary focal point having the information of specimen gives a good measurement performance with the great sensitivity. Application of the confocal theory and astigmatism to displacement measurement sensor uses the aperture as the pinhole or slit after collecting lens relating to confocal response in non-contact measurement; and astigmatic lens using four-segments detector as short-range sensor, long-range one combining the grating and rotary one hating the rotary directional grating.   • As a representative method for mass production, a multi-cavity type mold capable of simultaneously molding products of the same shape can be applied. It has the advantage of improving the productivity from several times to several tens of times, but it may cause disadvantages which is the quality deviation with each cavity. This study, therefore, has tried to increase the cavity filling balance by using a melt flipper and a flow distance control part in the runner part of the mold. Along with this, the design and manufacturing of air vents during injection molding have been verified through experimental methods to achieve a higher level of multi-cavity filling balance and dimensional accuracy.

역기하학 렌즈의 유효성과 각막에 미치는영향 (The Efficacy and Effect of Reverse Geometry Contact Lens on Cornea)

  • 본 연구는 학동기 아동에서 근시교정용 콘택트렌즈인 역기하학 콘택트렌즈(RGL, reverse geometry contact lens)에 대한 근시교정 효과 및 안전성을 평가하는데 있다. 본 연구에서는 2004년 3월부터 2005년 7월 사이에 근시굴절교정술을 목적으로 역기하학렌즈를 처방 받은 7세부터 18세사이의 학동기 환자 중 착용 후 3개월 이상 추적관찰이 가능했던 중등도 이하의 근시(-1.00~-5.00 D(Diopter))를 갖는 남녀 53명 106안을 연구대상으로 하였다. 렌즈처방을 위한 검사로는 세극동 현미경, BUT(Break Up Time), 직상검안경, 검영기, 나안시력, 최대 교정시력, 자동굴절검사, 각막곡률측정, 각막지형도검사를 착용 전과 착용 후 1일, 1주일, 2주일, 1개월, 2개월, 3개월 째 각각 시행하여 근시교정 효과와 합병증 발생 여부를 알아보았다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 렌즈 착용 전 평균 나안시력은 $0.0938{\pm}0.378$에서 착용 후 1일에 $0.3136{\pm}0.283$이었고, 1주에는 $0.7925{\pm}0.301$으로 급격한 시력향상을 보였으며 2주후부터는 약간씩이었지만 계속되는 추이를 보였다(p<0.01). 각막지형도검사 상 편심율은 역기하학 렌즈 착용 전 평균 $0.548{\pm}0.099$에서 착용 후 3개월에는 $-0.257{\pm}0.283$(t=2.321, p=0.022)으로 감소하였다. 렌즈 착용 후 1일부터 2개월 사이에 급격한 편심율 감소를 보였으며(p<0.01) 2개월 후부터는 약간의 감소를 보였다(p<0.05). 이상의 결과로부터 역기하학 렌즈는 중동도 이하의 근시를 가진 환자에 있어 일시적으로 굴절이상을 교정하고 근시진행을 조절하는데 매우 유용한 방법임을 알 수 있었다. 부작용은 상대적으로 미미하였으나 장기적으로 눈 건강에 미치는 영향에 관해서는 추가 연구가 더 필요하리라 생각된다. 렌즈의 처방은 편심율(eccentricity)과 각막지형도의 분포도를 고려한 주문제작 피팅법이 매우 높은 성공률을 보였다.

디지털 카메라용 이미지 안정화 시스템 제어 (Control for Optical Image Stabilization System in Digital Cameras)

  • As high quality image is required for digital cameras in recent use, the image stabilization technique has drawn much attention to prevent image degradation from shaky disturbance by users. In this paper, the optical image stabilization (OIS) system for DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera is considered. First, the analytic model of an OIS system is presented to demonstrate the mechanism of image destabilization due to unknown disturbance that causes blurry images on CCD sensor. Then, to enhance the stabilization performance, a sliding mode control based on the min-max nonlinear control is introduced. Through the experiments and simulations, the effectiveness of the proposed method will be verified.

Control Method for the Tool Path in Aspherical Surface Grinding and Polishing

  • This paper proposes a control algorithm, which is verified experimentally, for aspherical surface grinding and polishing. The algorithm provides simultaneous control of the position and interpolation of an aspheric curve. The nonlinear formula for the tool position was derived from the aspheric equation and the shape of the tool. The function was partitioned at specific intervals and the control parameters were calculated at each control section. The position, acceleration, and velocity at each interval were updated during the process. A position error feedback was introduced using a rotary encoder. The feedback algorithm corrected the position error by increasing or decreasing the feed speed. In the experimental verification, a two-axis machine was controlled to track an aspherical surface using the proposed algorithm. The effects of the control and process parameters were monitored. The results demonstrated that the maximum tracking error with tuned parameters was at the submicron level for concave and convex surfaces.
