대학 엘리트 카나디언 선수들의 어깨·허리·무릎 관절의 등속성 근기능 평가 및 진단 (Assessment of Isokinetic Muscle Function in Elite Canadian College Paddlers)

  • 본 연구는 대학 엘리트 카나디언 선수들의 등속성 근기능을 검사 및 진단하여 선수들의 기능 향상 및 상해예방을 위한 훈련 방법론에 대한 조언을 하고자 함에 목적이 있다. 경주 소재 D 대학의 평균 8.5년의 경력을 가진 8명의 엘리트 선수들이 실험에 참가했으며, Biodex system III, Biodex stabilizer system, THP 2, Inbody 720이 근기능 검사(peak torque, average power, work fatigue), 동적 균형 검사, 신체성분 검사를 위해 사용되었다. 등속성 근기능 검사는 어깨와 허리, 무릎 관절에 대하여 실시하였으며, 측정 후 동측 불균형과 좌 우측 불균형 정도를 평가하였다. 검사 결과 A3, A4, A5, A6, A8 선수는 어깨의 근력과 파워 훈련이, A1, A2, A7, A8 선수는 어깨의 근지구력 훈련이 필요한 것으로 평가되었다. A2, A5, A8 선수는 허리의 근력과 파워 강화 훈련이 필요하였고, A1, A8 선수는 허리의 근지구력 강화 훈련이 필요하였다. 대부분의 선수들은 무릎과 허리의 동측 근력비가 정상적이지 못했는데, 이의 개선을 위해 A2, A3, A4, A8 선수는 복근의 강화가 필요했고 A3, A5, A6, A7, A8 선수는 햄스트링의 강화가 요구되었다. 선수들의 BMI 평균은 24.90 $kg/m^2$, 체지방율은 12.23%, 반응시간 평균은 324 msec, 밸런스 점수는 각각 2.0 미만으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 종합해 볼 때, 카나디언 엘리트 선수들은 근력 불균형에 의한 경기력 저하와 상해 잠재 위험성이 있으므로 정기적인 근기능 검사를 통한 관리와 함께 적절한 훈련 처방이 필요할 것이라 생각된다.

필라테스 운동이 젊은 여성의 등속성 하지 근력과 밸런스에 미치는 영향 (The effect of pilates exercises on isokinetic muscular strength and balance in lower limb's for young aged women)

  • 본 연구는 젊은 여성을 대상으로 필라테스 운동이 하지 근력과 밸런스에 미치는 영향을 규명하는데 연구 목적을 두고 실시하였다. 20명의 젊은 여성들을 대상으로 통제군 10명, 필라테스 운동군 10명으로 2개 집단을 분류하여 실험 절차에 따라 진행하였다. 필라테스 운동군은 운동프로그램에 따라 주 3회의 빈도로 매 회 60분, 총 8주 동안 운동을 실시하였다. 통제군과 필라테스 운동군은 실험 전 후로 신체구성 측정과 하지 등속성 근력 측정, 신체 밸런스 측정을 하였다. 측정한 자료를 통계적으로 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 필라테스 운동 집단이 운동 실시 8주 후, 신체구성 변화에서 근육량이 유의한 증가가 있었다(p<.01). 슬관절 근 기능 변화에서는 $60^{\circ}/sec$에서 오른쪽 신근 최대근력과 오른쪽 신근 총 일량이 5% 수준에서 유의한 증가가 있었다(p<.05). 또한 $180^{\circ}/sec$에서는 왼쪽 굴근 최대근력이 5% 수준에서 유의한 증가가 있었다(p<.05). 마지막으로 밸런스의 변화에서는 집단 내 비교에서 오른발 밸런스에서(p< .01), 공분산분석 결과에서는 양발과 오른발 밸런스 변화에서 통계적으로 유의한 증가가 있었다(p<.05). 결론적으로 8주 동안의 필라테스 운동은 신체구성과 하지 등속성 근력과 밸런스에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다.

한발 서기 발목 균형 운동과 목 안정화 운동이 전방 머리 자세를 가진 성인의 목 부위 정렬, 근육 및 혈관두께에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Single Leg Ankle Balance Exercise and Neck Stabilization Exercise on Neck Alignment, Muscle and Vascular Thickness in Adults with Forward Head Posture)

  • Purpose : In this study, we compared the effects of ankle, McKenzie, and cervical stabilization exercises in individuals with a forward head posture. Outcome measures investigated included the neck disability index, craniovertebral angle (CVA), cranial rotation angle (CRA), and thickness of the longus colli muscle (LC) and carotid artery (CA) post-intervention. Methods : The study included 20 individuals with a forward head posture, who were assigned to an experimental group (EG, individuals performed ankle exercises) or control group (CG, individuals performed McKenzie and cervical stabilization exercises). The EG intervention was specifically designed to enhance proprioception in the ankle joint and strengthen the ankle muscles to improve overall stability and function. In contrast, CG interventions aimed to improve neck muscle balance and cervical spine alignment. Paired t-tests were used to analyze intragroup changes and independent t-tests to determine intergroup differences pre-and post-intervention. The significance level for all statistical tests was set at α=.05. Results : We observed significant post-intervention improvements in both groups, specifically, in the CVA, CRA, and LC and CA thickness (p<.05). These results indicate that ankle, McKenzie, and cervical stabilization exercises were useful for neck posture correction, improved muscle balance, and enhanced blood flow to the neck. Conclusion : This study underscores the positive effects of ankle, McKenzie, and cervical stabilization exercises in individuals with a forward head posture. Our study highlights the benefits of these exercises for posture correction and overall neck health and the clinical effectiveness and usefulness of ankle exercises as an important intervention to improve forward head posture.

무용요법이 노인의 신체적.심리적 특성에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Dance Therapy on Physical and Psychological Characteristics in The Elderly)

  • This study was performed to explore the effects of a dance therapy on physical and psychological characteristics in the elderly. The design of this study was a non-equivalent pre-post test experiment. The subjects consisted of elderly persons living in a facility located in Suweon and Bucheon. Fifty eight subjects, aged between 65 and 93 years who had normal cognition, sensory function, balance, and resting blood pressure. They underwent tests of balance, flexibility, muscle strength, depression, and anxiety as baseline data before dance therapy, and at 6th week and at the end of the 12nd week after following dance therapy. Twenty seven elderly persons were assigned to the experimental group and participated with the dance therapy between April and July, 1998. The dance therapy was developed by the author with the help of a dance therapist and a physiatrist. This therapy was based on the Marian Chace's dance therapy and Korean traditional dance with music. The dance therapy consists of 50 minutes session, 3 times a week for 12 weeks. One session was consisted of warming-up, expression, catharsis, sharing, and closing stage. The intensity of the dance therapy was at the 40 % of age-adjusted maximum heart rates. Data were analysed with mead standard deviation, Chi-square test, unpaired t-test, repeated measures ANOVA, and Bonferroni multiple regression using SAS program. 1. The results related to the physical characteristics were as follows : 1) The balance (standing on one leg, walking on the balancing bar), flexibility and muscle strength (knee extensor, knee flexor, ankle plantarflexor and dorsiflexor) of the experimental subjects significantly increased over time mere than that of the control subjects. 2) The experimental group had significantly higher score for balance, flexibility, muscle strength of knee extensor, and knee flexor than the control group at the 12nd week after dance therapy. 3) The experimental group had significantly higher score for muscle strength of ankle dorsiflexor and plantarflexor than the control group at the 6th week and the 12nd week after dance therapy. 2. The results related to psychological characteristics were as follows : 1) Scores of Geriatric Depression Scale, Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, and Zung's Self-rating Anxiety Scale of the experimental group were significantly decreased over time more than that of the control group. 2) The experimental group had significantly lower score for depression than the control group at the 12nd week after dance therapy. 3) The experimental group had significantly lower score for anxiety than the control group at the 6th week and the 12nd week after dance therapy. The findings showed that the dance therapy could be effective in improving the balances, flexibility, and muscle strength of lower limb, and effective in decreasing the depression and anxiety of the elderly. Additional merits of the dance therapy would be inexpensiveness, easy accessibility, and increasing interpersonal relationship. It can be suggested that the dance therapy is effective in the health promotion of the elderly.

Correlation among triceps surae muscle structure, balance, and gait in persons with stroke

  • Objective: This study aimed to compare muscle structure, balance, and gait parameters between healthy adults and persons with stroke and to analyze the correlation among these variables. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Twenty persons with stroke (11 male, 9 female) and twenty healthy participants (9 male, 11 female) were included. Ultrasound images of the triceps surae and the tibialis anterior were acquired in sitting resting, sitting co-contraction, and standing resting positions and also during the functional reach test (FRT) and single leg anterior reaching test (SLART). Muscle thickness and fascicle length were measured. Spatiotemporal parameters of gait were measured using a pressure walkway. Gait speed, cadence, step length, stride length, stance time, and swing time were measured. Results: Changes in percent fascicle length were significantly greater in the gastrocnemius and soleus (SOL) muscles of healthy adults in the sitting co-contraction position (p<0.05). The percent fascicle length of the SOL in FRT and SLART were significantly greater in healthy adults (p<0.05). The mid-stance phase of stroke patients was shorter than healthy adults (p<0.05). A negative correlation was observed between percent fascicle length of the SOL in the sitting co-contraction position and the proportion of the mid-stance phase (p<0.05). Conclusions: The function of the triceps surae is affected in persons with stroke when compared with healthy adults. This can lead to difficulty in performing tasks that involve forward transfer of weight. If the triceps surae is not sufficiently secured, the possibility of compensation in the stance phase increases during gait.

키네지오 테이핑이 온종아리신경 마비를 가진 환자의 발목관절의 근력, 움직임 및 기능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of kinesio taping on ankle strength, movement and function in patients with common peroneal nerve paralysis)

  • 온종아리신경 마비를 가진 환자에 대한 키네지오 테이핑의 효과는 연구되지 않고 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 온종아리신경 마비로 인한 발목 관절 부위의 기능적인 움직임이 제한된 환자를 대상으로 키네지오 테이핑의 효과를 알아보고자 한다. 본 연구는 온종아리신경 마비를 가진 10명을 대상으로 연구를 실시하였다. 키네시오 테이핑 적용은 발목관절에 적용하였다(발등굽힘, 바깥들림 방향). 키네지오 테이핑의 효과를 알아보기 위해 발목 관절의 도수근력검사(앞정강근, 긴종아리근), 능동 관절가동범위(발등굽힘, 바깥들림), 통증(시각사상척도, 통증 압력의 역치) 및 균형(한 발 서기동작)을 실시하였다. 측정은 중재 전, 중재 8주에 측정을 실시하였다. 연구결과 온종아리신경 마비 환자의 발목 관절에 키네지오테이핑을 중재 후 도수근력검사, 능동 관절가동범위, 통증, 균형을 모두 향상시켰다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로, 발목관절에 키네지오 테이핑 적용은 온종아리신경 마비 환자의 발목기능 및 통증과 균형에 효과적인 것을 알 수 있었다.

한국무용 숙련자와 미숙련자에 따른 폐기능, 부드러움, 그리고 지면반력의 차이 분석 (The Analysis of Differences in Pulmonary Functions, Jerk Cost, and Ground Reaction Force Depending on Professional and Amateur Dancers in Korea Dance)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in the performance of dancing motions depending on the level of skill by investigating pulmonary functions, ground reaction force, and jerk cost. The subjects of this study were 12 professional dancers (career: 16 yrs) and 12 amateur dancers (career: 9 yrs) who had similar physical conditions. We selected four motion phases which included the diagonal line motion, the deep flexion motion, the breath motion, and the turn motion with one leg after a small step walking motion, with Goodguri Jangdan. In the experiment, 6 infrared cameras were installed in order to analyze the value of the jerk costs and the force plate form. Finally, we measured the pulmonary functions of the subjects. For data analysis, independent t-tests according to each event, were carried out in the data processing. According to the results of FVC % Predicted, the professional dancers showed greater lung capacities than the amateur dancers, indicating that the level of dancing skill influences lung capacity. Based on the result of the balance test, the professional dancers used more vertical power than did the amateur dancers when performing maximal flexion motion. The professional dancers used a propulsive force of pushing their body forward by keeping the center of body higher while the amateur dancers used a braking power by keeping their bodies backward. When performing medial-lateral movements, the amateur dancers were less stable than the professional dancers. There were no differences in values of jerk costs between the amateur dancers and the professional dancers.

노인의 건강관련체력과 인지기능 및 고립감의 관계 (Relationship between Health-Related Physical Fitness, Cognitive Function and Isolation in the Elderly)

  • 본 연구는 서울 경기 소재 65세 이상 노인 308명을 대상으로 건강관련체력요인과 인지기능 및 고립감의 관계를 분석하였다. 측정도구는 사회인구학적특성(연령, 학력, 음주유무, 배우자유무, 운동참여유무)과 건강관련체력(상지근력, 하지근력, 유연성, 평형성), 인지기능(한국판 간이정신상태검사, 숫자외우기검사) 그리고 고립감(사회적 정서적 고립척도)로 측정하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 노인의 사회인구학적특성에 따라 건강관련체력, 인지기능, 고립감에는 통계적 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 노인의 건강관련체력, 인지기능에는 정적상관관계, 건강관련체력, 인지기능과 고립감에는 부적상관관계가 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 셋째, 노인의 건강관련체력은 인지기능에 통계적 유의한 영향력을 나타내었다. 넷째, 노인의 건강관련체력은 고립감에 통계적으로 유의한 영향력을 나타내었다. 다섯째, 노인의 인지기능은 고립감에 통계적으로 유의한 영향력을 나타내었다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 미래 노인복지 연구를 위한 기초자료를 제공하여 확장 된 연구에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

케톤음료를 보충한 저탄수화물·고지방식이 섭취가 치매고위험 노인의 인지기능 및 신체활동 능력 변화에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Low-carbohydrate and High-fat Diet Supplemented with Ketogenic Drink on Cognitive Function and Physical Performance in the Elderly at High Risk for Dementia)

  • Objectives: Reduced glucose utilization in the main parts of the brain involved in memory is a major cause of Alzheimer's disease, in which ketone bodies are used as the only and effective alternative energy source of glucose. This study examined the effects of a low-carbohydrate and high-fat (LCHF) diet supplemented with a ketogenic nutrition drink on cognitive function and physical activity in the elderly at high risk for dementia. Methods: The participants of this study were 28 healthy elderly aged 60-91 years showing a high risk factor of dementia or whose Korean Mini-Mental State Examination (K-MMSE) score was less than 24 points. Over 3 weeks, the case group was given an LCHF diet with nutrition drinks consisting of a ketone/non-ketone ratio of 1.73:1, whereas the control group consumed well-balanced nutrition drinks while maintaining a normal diet. After 3 weeks, K-MMSE, body composition, urine ketone bodies, and physical ability were all evaluated. Results: Urine ketone bodies of all case group subjects were positive, and K-MMSE score was significantly elevated in the case group only (p=0.021). Weight and BMI were elevated in the control group only (p<0.05). Grip strength was elevated in all subjects (p<0.01), and measurements of gait speed and one leg balance were improved only in the case group (p<0.05). Conclusions: We suggest that adherence to the LCHF diet supplemented with a ketogenic drink could possibly influence cognitive and physical function in the elderly with a high risk factor for dementia. Further, we confirmed the applicability of this dietary intervention in the elderly based on its lack of any side effects or changes in nutritional status.

보행스피드에 대한 상체 공헌도의 연령에 따른 변화 (Age-Related Change of Upper Body Contribution to Walking Speed)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the upper body in order to increase a propulsive force in the old's walking. The subjects were each 10 males, the latter term of the aged and former term of the aged. There were three walking speeds of slow(about 5km/h), medium(about 6km/h), and maximum speed(about 7km/h). The subjects walking 11m were filmed the 5m section (from 3m to 8m) by 2-video cameras using three dimensional cinematography. And we computed different mechanical quantities and especially computed the relative momentum in order to achieve this study's aim. In this study, we was able to acquire some knowledge. The step length and step frequency increased in proportion to the walking speed, and the faster walking speed, the shorter ratio of supporting time( both legs supporting time/one step length time). When it was one leg support phase, the torso was indicated to generate the momentum in order to produce the propulsive force of walking. The upper and lower body had a cooperative relation for walking such as keeping step rate with the arms to legs and maintaining the body balance. The opposition phase for upward-and-downward direction of the torso and arms in walking was functioned to prevent the increase rapidly toward vertical direction of the center of gravity. The arms had contributed to coordinate the tempo of legs and the posture maintenance of the upper body. And by absorbing the relative momentum from the upper torso with arms to the lower torso, it had the rhythmical movement on upward-and-downward direction reducing the vertical reaction force. On account of the relations of absorption and generation of the propulsive force and the production of vertical impulse in the lower torso when walking by maximum speed, it was showed that the function of lower torso was come up as important problem for the mechanical posture stability and propulsive force coordination.
