  • The importance of left truncated and right censoring cases has considered for better information in medical follow-up and engineering life testing studies. We propose some estimation procedure for the mean residual life function with consistency and asymptotic normality on the left truncated and right censoring model. And then, the comparision with Kaplan-Meier estimator ignoring the left truncated effect and the small sample properities are investigated by asymptotic biases and M.S.E.'s thresh Monte Carlo study.

  • The estimation procedure of mean residual life function has been placed an important role in the study of survival analysis. In this paper, the product limit estimator on left truncated and right censoring model is proposed with asymptotic properties. Also, the small sample properties are investigated through the Monte Carlo study and the proposed product limit type estimator is compared with ordinary Kaplan-Meier type estimator.

  • We consider the quantile function for the bootstrapped product limit estimate under left truncation and right censoring model and show its weak convergence. We also obtain bootstrapped confidence bands for the quantile function.

  • Mixed linear models have been widely used in various correlated data including multivariate survival data. In this paper we extend hierarchical-likelihood(h-likelihood) approach for mixed linear models with right censored data to that for left censored data. We also allow a general random-effect structure and propose the estimation procedure. The proposed method is illustrated using a numerical data set and is also compared with marginal likelihood method.

  • This paper proposes some diagnostics procedures for the skew-t linear regression model with censored response. The skew-t distribution is an attractive family of asymmetrical heavy-tailed densities that includes the normal, skew-normal and student's-t distributions as special cases. Inspired by the power and wide applicability of the EM-type algorithm, local and global influence analysis, based on the conditional expectation of the complete-data log-likelihood function are developed, following Zhu and Lee's approach. For the local influence analysis, four specific perturbation schemes are discussed. Two real data sets, from education and economics, which are right and left censoring, respectively, are analyzed in order to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed methodology.

  • We have provided a variety of domestic construction technology related full-text services through the Construction Technology Digital Library system since 2001. CODIL is a system that services the database related to construction technology data. On the other hand, there is growing demand for DB every year, but the required budget is shrinking. Therefore, this study investigated the satisfaction to effectively service the construction technique-related full-text with a limited budget. The monetary value of full-text to express satisfaction with the quantified value was estimated using the Tobit model. The Tobit model is used as a contingent valuation method to estimate the value of non-market goods. This model is the limited dependent variable regression model to observations by censoring the limit of the left side or right side so that a biased outlier is not reflected in the willingness to pay. A survey was conducted by sampling 312 respondents. The mean, median, truncating the willingness of payment were calculated for the six types of the full-text services using the Tobit model. The statistically significant variables affecting the willingness to pay for the full-text services were identified. The mean value of per the full-text service was estimated to be 46,530 won. The significance of this study was to use the Tobit model to estimate the value of the construction technology-related full-text services for the first time in Korea.
