  • 최근 산업환경 변화에 순응하는 환경 친화적 소재를 사용하여 자동차, 선박, 철도 등 수송용 인테리어 내장재를 구성하는 기술로서, 난연성 및 기계적 물성 유지 기술, 그리고 실내 쾌적감을 부여하기 위한 감성기술 및 심미적 요소를 부여하는 디자인 기술이 가미된 복합 기능화 기술개발이 구되고 있다. 기존의 자동차용 시트 제품은 대부분 PU Foam을 시트원단에 불꽃으로 Lamination 하는 방식으로 제조되었으며, 이러한 제조 방식은 많은 공정을 거치게 되고 PU Foam을 제조하는 공정 및 불꽃으로 Lamination 하는 공정에서 많은 환경유해가스가 발생하는 등 환경적으로도 많은 문제점을 감수하면서 생산하는 방식이다. 또한 각종 원단의 표피재로 많이 사용되고 있는 PU와 PVC의 경우 제조과정에서 용제와 가소제 사용 등으로 인해 환경적으로 많은 문제점이 있으며, 이를 대체하기 위한 노력이 많은 부분에서 이루어지고 있지만, 마땅히 대체할 소재를 찾지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 실리콘수지는 기존의 PU와 PVC를 대체할 수 있는 소재로서 각광받고 있으며, 응용기술 개발을 통해 충분히 적용이 가능한 소재라고 판단된다. 본 연구에서 개발하고자 하는 기술은 난연성을 가진 실리콘 내장 표피재에 불꽃으로 Lamination하는 공정을 배제한 친환경 PUD Foam을 바로 Back Coating함으로써 일체형 고 기능 친환경 제품을 개발함으로써 친환경 복합화 기술 및 SEAT 원단과 표피재의 일체형 모듈화 공법개발을 이루고자 한다.

Characterization of Leather Skin Layer Coatings on Water Dispersed Polyurethane Applied with Eathyl Acetate and Piperazine (Eathyl acetate와 Piperazine이 적용된 수분산 폴리우레탄의 Skin layer 코팅에 따른 특성 연구)

  • In this study, prepolymer was synthesized through the reaction of isoporon diisocyanate (IPDI) and dimethylolbutanoic acid (DMBA) based on poly (tetramethylene ether) glycol (PTMG) for the synthesis of water-soluble polyurethane to be used as a leather surface coating applied with ethyl acetate and piperazine. Thereafter, the piperazine was chain-extended with 0.01 M, 0.03 M, 0.05 M, and 0.07 M in the water-dispersed resin, and the tensile strength, elongation, CV (cyclic voltammetry), and solvent resistance analysis were performed. Tensile strength of the prepared sample was measured at 5.422 kgf/㎟ when the piperazine content was 0.07M, and elongation was measured as 587% when the piperazine was 0.01M. Solvent resistance analysis showed the same solvent resistance regardless of piperazine content, and the redox potential was changed according to piperazine content through CV measurement.

Analysis of Properties of Water-Dispersed Bio-Polyurethane Based on Caster Oil for Lamb Leather Surface (Lamb Leather용 Caster Oil 기반 수분산 바이오 폴리우레탄필름의 제조)

  • Unmodified castor oil (CO) was used to obtain a castor-based aqueous polyurethane (CPUD) and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) was used to obtain a transparent film. The mixing effect of polypropyleneglycole (PPG) was analyzed to increase flexibility. In addition, ethylenediamine (EDA) was used as a chain extender. Tensile strength, elongation, and abrasion resistance were measured according to the change according to the castor oil content and the change in the chain extender, respectively. The tensile strength of the sample containing a lot of castor oil was 1.112 kgf/㎟, and the elongation was 88%. The tensile strength of the sample containing a lot of chain extender was 3.33kgf/㎟, and the elongation was 99%. The surface strength was visually confirmed through SEM. Emulsion Polymerization and Surface Properties of Perfluoroalkylethyl Acrylate/Acrylate/Glycidyl Methacrylate Copolymers (퍼플로오로알킬에틸아크릴레이트/아크릴레이트/그리시딜메타크릴레이트 공중합체의 유화중합 및 그들의 표면특성)

  • A series of acrylic copolymers containing perfluoroalkyl acrylate were synthesized by 2-step emulsion polymerization of variety of acrylate monomers (ethyl acrylate, butyl acrylate or methyl methacrylate) with perfluoroalkyl ethyl acrylate (PFA) and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) monomers. This study focused on effects of monomer compositions (the kind of acrylate monomer, contents of PFA and GMA) and composition of surfactants [(sodium dodecyl sulphate/nonylphenol 10mole ethoxylate (NP-10)] and initiator content on the contact angles and surface free energy. It was found that the copolymer having an optimum composition (BA : 87 wt%, GMA : 8.7 wt% and PFA : 4.3 wt%) was shown to be quite surface active [surface free energy : 19.89 mN/m and contact angles : $103.5^{\circ}$ (water) and $78.7^{\circ}$ (methylene iodide)] in the solid state. This result suggests that the optimal copolymer containing fluorinated monomer synthesized in this study have high potential as a low surface energy material, which may have high oil- and water-repellent surface and have been proposed as acrylic syntan for leather and also as soil-resistant/oil and water repellent coating for textiles and wood etc.

The Study on Physical Properties and Applicability of Material of Polyamide-66/Glass Fiber Blends Composition to the Eyewear Frame (Polyamide-66/Glass fiber 블렌드 조성물의 물리적 특성 및 안경테 소재로써의 적용성에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: In this study, we evaluated the physical and thermal properties of the compositions made by blending glass fiber (GF) of different contents into glass fiber polyamide-66, and investigated if the compositions applying to the glasses frame to replace the TR-90, which is polyamide-12 resin used as an injection-type spectacle frame material. Methods: To investigate the characteristics change of polyamide-66 (PA-66) compositions with the change of the content of glass fibers, we produced a composition of the content by using a twin-screw extruder. The mechanical strength of the composition production was measured and coating properties as well as cutting processability were evaluated. We evaluated the applicability of the glasses frame by comparison the results of new compositions with characterizations of traditional TR. Results: For the results of the characterization of Polyamide-66/GF composition, we found that the higher increase of content of the glass fiber, the less mold shrinkage rate, and the mechanical strength was increased. Tensile strength increased from $498kg/cm^2$ for 0 wt% of the content of the glass fibers to $849kg/cm^2$ for 30 wt% of the content of the glass fibers. As a result of a coating evaluation, the strength of coating was 4B in the GF 5wt% and 5B, which was extremely good coating characteristics, in the over than GF 5 wt%. Conclusions: In case that 30 wt% of the glass fiber was blended, the mechanical strength was greatly improved, the hardness was increased, injection temperature increased due to increase of the viscosity, and the flow mark of the product may occur. The paint coating of PA-66 blended with glass fiber was all excellent. With general evaluating physical properties and workability properties it was determined that around 10 wt% of the content of the glass fibers was possible to apply a spectacle frame.

  • In this study, polyether polyol polypropylene glycol and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) were synthesized based on polyrupopylene mono methyl eher (PM) for the synthesis of water - soluble polyurethane for coating on leather skin layer. After synthesis of prepolymer, PM was added at $40^{\circ}C$ to 1M, 2M, 3M, and 4M to inhibit the viscosity rise, and neutralization reaction and chain extension reaction were carried out to prepare polyurethane samples. According to the measurement results of the tensile strength, elongation and adhesive strength of the prepared sample, the tensile strength was 2.109 kgf / mm2 for PM 1M, 1.721kgf / mm2 for 4M, elongation was 496% for PM 1M, 522% for 4M, adhesion was 1.114 kgf / cm for PM 1M and 0.99 kgf / cm for 4M.

Effect of Polymerization Conditions on the Characteristics of Polyvinyl Acetate Emulsions

  • Polyvinyl acetate emulsion has been widely used as adhesives for wood and paper, paint additives and binders for fiber, leather, and other materials because it is an excellent adhesive with many advantages including low in toxicity risks and manufacturing cost. It is expected the consumption of polyvinyl acetate emulsion as adhesives will increase in cigarette industry as well as in paperboard coating industry. Recently the operation speed of the cigarette tip wrapper increased so substantially that improvement of the emulsion properties is required including good wet tack development, narrow and controlled particle size distribution, low viscosity, etc. In this study the effects of such polymerization conditions as the type and amount of emulsifier, internal or external plasticizing, and emulsification methods on the viscosity and particle size of polyvinyl acetate emulsions were examined. Results showed that polyvinyl alcohol with a high degree of hydrolysis and low molecular weight and nonionic surfactants are superior to anionic surfactant in improving adhesion and emulsion stability. They also tend to produce emulsions with smaller particle size. External plasticization with dipropylene glycol dibenzoate was more effective in improving flexibility than internal plasticization with butyl acrylate. Monomer emulsification under high shear was more effective in decreasing the particle size.

  • Lacquer has a high value as a coating of typical arts and crafts in East Asia including Korea, Japan, and China and traditional representative of the gorgeous satin that is fit to the cultural conditions of each region. Lacquer is harmless to the human body and its robustness, preservatives, moth proofness, and strong heat resistance can maintain a long life. It seems that it will be able to make a significant contribution to create a variety of products if we continually study and raise the productivity and quality of the goodness of these lacquer. In this context, we reviewed the Pitae lacquer wares, which is one of the lacquer of traditional techniques that can be applied to the development of daily necessities and cultural product. Joining the goodness of harmless and environment-friendly lacquer and the characteristics of the leather that can produce a variety of physical beauty can develop household goods of tradition and modernity in harmony. It is worthwhile re-interpreting the tradition in the aspect that we can develop our culture from a modern, plastic, and artistic point of view.

A Study on the Compatibility Evaluation of Hand-arm Adequate Vibration and an Oscillating Spectrum for Vibrating Tools (국소진동 보호구의 적합성 평가와 진동공구에 적합한 가진 스펙트럼에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this paper is to evaluate the compatibility of anti-vibration gloves, to predict the attenuation of vibration with different types of anti-vibration gloves, to estimate the spectra of the ISO 10819 standard, and to present an oscillating spectrum adequate for vibrating tools. This paper use two ISO standards for the measurement and evaluation of hand-arm vibration. Some anti-vibration gloves can attenuate vibration, but all the anti-vibration gloves in this study do not satisfy the ISO 10819 requirements. In case of equal vibration types, the outside materials are effective in order of leather, fabrics and rubber-coating. Anti-vibration gloves manufactured in the United State satisfy ISO 10819 criteria using United State subjects, but do not satisfy ISO 10819 using Japanese subjects. M-spectrum acceleration exists below 10Hz and H-spectrum exists above 500Hz. Generally vibrating tools have the peak of Z-axis, but generation of vibration differ from each vibrating tools.

Effect of Coated Polypyrrole Content on the Properties of Polypyrrole Coated Fabrics (폴리피롤 코팅 직물의 성질에 미치는 폴리피롤 함량의 영향)

  • To chemically prepare polypyrrole(pPy) coated fabrics(silk, cotton and nylon fabrics), the fabrics were first soaked in 0.4M oxidant $FeCl_3$/0.06M dopant anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid solution for 5min at room temperature, and subsequently soaked in a 0.4M monomer pyrrole aqueous solution for 5min at room temperature. The content(wt%) of coated pPy in the coated fabrics was controlled by the number of treatments(these two steps). This study examined the effect of the number of treatments/pPy content on the sheet resistance, mechanical/bending properties and color behaviors of pPy coated fabrics. The coated pPy content, sheet resistance(${\Omega}$/square) and color strength(K/S) of pPy coated fabrics increased sharply with increasing number of treatments up to 20 times, while the increase slowed down afterward. The tensile strength, elongation at break and lightness($L^*$) decreased with increasing number of treatments. The tensile modulus and bending rigidity of coated fabrics increased significantly with increasing number of treatments/coated pPy content. This indicated that the flexibility of coated fabrics decreased considerably.
