As the knowledge and information society has emerged, paradigm of school education has moved to improvement of creativity and problem-solving skills of a learner. However, up to the present, ICT education in schools has shown distorted features, which are focusing on the use of application programs, out of its original purpose. This study also allows digital technology to be displayed in analog ways by applying the paper prototyping technique, which can be substituted for the programming phase that elementary school students feel difficulty to handle with. In addition, It enables practical and useful ideas to be designed, constructed and evaluated as a system, based on User Centered Design (UCD), which encourages users actively to participate in the development, rather than focus on developer. To verify the effects of education, we evaluated and analyzed concept models of a learner before and after the application development activity by applying the mental model theory. The framework suggested in this study can be applied to courseware of programming in elementary schools.

This article refers to the processions and the improvement of the 7th revised curriculum development for the Fisheries and Merchant Marine High School, published at Dec. 30, 1997. The general point of the 7th revised curriculum development was to cultivate creative Korean who will lead the epoch of globalization and information and to perform the learner-centered curriculum. Moreover, it defines the nature of Business High School not as completive but as continuing education. Based on this view, the improvment of 7th revised curriculum has been searched in varous sides. The group of general researchers and cooperators consisted of 12 members who were of university professors, teachers, related business men and executives in the administration branches, and the total researchers of 7th revised curriculum development were 90 members. The basic orientation of the research for the revised curriculum development was as following : The improvement of basic ability, job-analysis ability, integrity of theory and practice, acquisition of the certificate of national qualification, interrelation and cooperative role division between school and industrial fields, extension of self-decision ability of school and local society, protection of learner-selection right and maintaining close relations with the business-educational organization under life-long education system. Thus on the whole, the research for educational goals and contents, instructions, learning theory and evaluation is being processed with a high activity, based on the above mentioned plan of 7th revised curriculum development. At the same time, the methods and the models are being investigated. At last, it is to be noted that, in such as the 7th revised curriculum development research in this case, the effort should not be spared to harmonize the basic technological knowledge of the specialists in the Fisheries and Merchant Marine field and the cultural, liberal arts of personality education.
Since the launch of ChatGPT, many college students used it extensively in various ways in their curricular learning activities. This study investigates the utilization of ChatGPT in the curriculum of first and second-year engineering students, aiming to examine its influence from a learner perspective. We explored how ChatGPT is used in each subject and learning activity to understand how learners perceive the use of ChatGPT. From the survey data on engineering college students at E university, we examined students' perception on 'shortening time to perform tasks' through ChatGPT, 'dependence on ChatGPT', 'their contribution to individual capacity building', and 'their influence on academic grade'. The majority of students reported extensive use of ChatGPT for learning activities, particularly showing high dependency in liberal arts subjects and coding-related activities. While the use of ChatGPT in liberal arts was seen as not contributing to the enhancement of individual capacity, its use in coding was positively evaluated. Furthermore, the contribution of ChatGPT to the creativity in report writing tasks was highly rated. These findings offer several important implications for the use of AI tools like ChatGPT in engineering education. Firstly, the positive impact of ChatGPT's high usability and individual-capacity enhancement in coding should be expanded to other areas of learning. Secondly, as AI technology progresses, the contribution of AI tools compared to learners is expected to increase, suggesting that students should be encouraged to effectively use AI tools to achieve their learning objectives while maintaining a balanced approach to avoid overreliance on AI.
In this study, through the analysis of the mathematics curriculum and textbooks, we produce the cooperative learning activity sheets which was appropriate instructional content for various levels. And, by using them appropriately at the levels of student learning on their own interest, we enhance academic achievement and cooperative learning attitudes. Specific for details for this study are as follows: First, through the applying a variety of the differentiated cooperative learning activity sheets and developing instruction learning, we improve the academic achievement. Second, through the making and utilizing the differentiated cooperative learning activity sheets and the interest and attitudes in mathematics, we improve the cooperative learning attitude. Third, through the levels of the subgroup cooperative learning, we improve the math learning abilities through a learner-centered. Further the purpose of this study is to bring up complementary cooperative spirit among colleagues.

Reading ability has been widely considered as one of the basic skills that every student should be conversant with because higher level of thinking power can be acquired through reading. Reading education allows students to build correct way of thinking as well as foster critical thinking ability. However, it can be observed that reading education has not been well addressed accordingly in schools mainly because teachers have only limited amount of time and ability to cope with. In this paper, we developed a Web-based peer evaluation system for improving reading and writing ability so that students are allowed to exchange ideas freely on the Web after reading books as well as evaluate other students' writings, which would facilitate reflective thinking through the computer-mediated communication activities. Students become graders of other students' writings so that they are exposed to different opinions and ideas through which deeper thoughts can be obtained. The learner-centered learning activity instead of teacher-centered may benefit students as well as teachers and the system implementing this idea shows that both students' attitudes and preferences were improved as the result of applying the system to a local elementary school.
Nowadays the use of computer has a tendency to be being increased in classroom. Also, Many mathematics teachers are attempting to use computer efficiently in classroom. Computer has unique functions such as graphic, animation, and error correction. As graphic and animation can make the content of mathematics visible and make it easy for learners to study mathematics, it is desirable to develop the computer educational program and use it in teaching and learning mathematics. Especially, before concepts study on the unit of Figure or Function, the use of graphic or animation is efficient by being able to understand easily the content. The purpose of this thesis is to produce the computer program on the Movement of Figure in the unit of Equation of Figure which is in mathematics curriculum for the first grade of high school. In teaching and learning mathematics by use of this program, the educational effects are expected as follows: 1. It is expected that this program will stimulate the interest of learners by using animation and acoustic (sound) effect and so learners' voluntary and active thinking activity will be shown. 2. It will be helpful to form exact concept because it is possible to understand intuitively the basic concepts on the Movement of Figure by using graphic and animation. 3. It is expected that the repeated study of this program already designed will remove the fear of incomplete parts and help review them. 4. It is possible to change from teacher-centered instruction, which is the blind point of recent mathematics education, to the learner-centered instruction. However, it is necessary to realize that using the educational engineering (computer) in mathematics education cannot always cause learners to study mathematics very well and that computer cannot take the place of mathematics teacher. Accordingly, computer will be treated as aids which help learners study difficult part.
In this paper, we suggested generally some samples and cases of portfolio but centered on elementary mathematics in New Zealand elementary school in the aspects of the assessment for learning activity of learner and so we have found some suggestive points by comparing New Zealand portfolio with ours. Finally, we have an objects that the teachers here in Korea can use these results as a cases which are benchmarked by them. We had known through this paper that portfolio assessment in New Zealand elementary school deals with various aspects and it was accessing in the direction of creating knowledge positively through the real life, not textbookish or artificial problem and also it had a characteristics dealing with real life situation or context without filtering. Especially, it always dealt with all regions of curriculum and looked like focusing on the connections of curriculum relatively.
Nowaday our school education have been undergone decisive influences by the entrance and examination-oriented education system. To enter universities which belong to top classes in Korean society could be look upon the important success of school education, and it could be equaled to the quality of competent teacher(teacher's professionalism). However, the creativity and knowledge composition ability in the school education will be considered seriously in the coming of 21st century knowledge, information-oriented and globalization society. In this situation, we try to trace about the system and style of foreign school education which is unfamiliar to us, spontaneously we should explore the educational implication which affects to our school education. In this paper, we have reviewed about the present condition and the current situation of Philippines school education(San Beda College Alabang and Rizal Campus). Of course, we tried to observe the practical education activities including a curriculum, teacher, teaching and studying method and student activity. Through this trial, we tried to suggest the effective environment and methodology for the improvement in quality of our school education. Philippines school education 1) could be achieved educational ideas and goals based on the spirit of school establishment, 2) could be gained teacher's professionalism through the system of Coordinator and Prefect, 3) could be conducted learner-centered lessons by the learning method of exploration, discussion, task-resolving, 4) was able to created a pleasant school education through the development and application of a variety of educational programs.
Flipped learning is generally designed to allow students to learn on their own in advance with the help of scaffolding material such as videos and text, and in the classroom, it is operated with the help of a teacher while the class is being learner-centered. For flipped learning, each of the teachers has to design the class, collect information, and prepare for scaffolding material, so they get to face a lot of difficulties spending much time to reorganize the curriculum and produce a video and so on. Accordingly, this researcher has developed flipped learning textbook models applicable to science class by analyzing Korean and overseas textbooks, conducting an in-depth interview to six science teachers practicing flipped learning, and also developing and applying the science textbook sample model. The elementary, middle, and high school science textbook models developed include not only the textbook-based model with no videos presented in advance but also the lecture-type model, experiment-based model, and inquiry and research-based model to realize flipped learning. This study is expected to present crucial implications to develop textbooks and science class as a class to perform learner-centered inquiry activity.
The purpose of this research was to confirm one of constructivists' assumptions that even children 조o are with low reasoning ability can make reflective abstracting ability and cognitive structures by this ability can make generation ability of new knowledge by themselves. To investigate the assumption, learner-centered instruction were implemented to 2nd grade classroom located in Suseong Gu, DaeGu City and with lesson plans which initially were developed by Burns and corrected by the researchers. Recordings videoed using 2 video cameras, observations, instructions, children's activity worksheets, instruction journals were analyzed using multiple tests for qualitative analysis. Some conclusions are drawn from the results. First, even children with low reasoning ability can construct mathematical knowledge on multiplication in their own. ways, Thus, teachers should not compel them to learn a learning lesson's goals which is demanded in traditional instruction, with having belief they have reasoning ability. Second, teachers need to have the perspectives of respects out of each child in their classroom and provide some materials which can provoke children's cognitive conflict and promote thinking with the recognition of effectiveness of learner-centered instruction. Third, students try to develop their ability of reflective and therefore establish cognitive structures such as webs, not isolated and fragmental ones.
