대류 및 소음 해석을 위한 정확한 다층 수치 기법 (Accurate Multi-level Schemes for Advection and Acoustics)

  • A non-dissipative and very accurate one-dimensional upwind leapfrog method is extended to higher-order and multi-dimensional advection and acoustic equations. The higher-order versions are developed by extending the stencils in space and time. The schemes are then successfully applied to the classical test cases for advection and acoustics.

  • Fully flexible cell preserves Hamiltonian in structure, so the symplectic time integrator is applied to the equations of motion. Primarily, generalized leapfrog time integration (GLF) is applicable, but the equations of motion by GLF have some of implicit formulas. The implicit formulas give rise to a complicate calculation for coding and need an iteration process. In this paper, the time integration formulas are obtained for the fully flexible cell molecular dynamics simulation by using the splitting time integration. It separates flexible cell Hamiltonian into terms corresponding to each of Hamiltonian term, so the simple and completely explicit recursion formula was obtained. The explicit formulas are easy to implementation for coding and may be reduced the integration time because they are not need iteration process. We are going to compare the resulting splitting time integration with the implicit generalized leapfrog time integration.

  • Fully flexible cell preserves Hamiltonian in structure so that the symplectic time integrator is applicable to the equations of motion. In the direct formulation of fully flexible cell N-Sigma-T ensemble, a generalized leapfrog time integration (GLF) is applicable for fully flexible cell simulation, but the equations of motion by GLF has structure of implicit algorithm. In this paper, the time integration formula is derived for the fully flexible cell molecular dynamics simulation by using the splitting time integration. It separates flexible cell Hamiltonian into terms corresponding to each of Hamiltonian term. Thus the simple and completely explicit recursion formula was obtained. We compare the performance and the result of present splitting time integration with those of the implicit generalized leapfrog time integration.

해저지형을 고려한 조류유동의 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of the Ocean Tidal Current Considering Sea Bottom Topography)

  • 본 연구에서는 복잡한 해저지형을 고려한 조류의 거동을 예측하기 위한 3차원 다중기법을 개발하였다. 복잡한 해저지형을 보다 정확하고 효과적으로 고려하기 위하여 연직방향으로 $\sigma$좌표계를 도입하였다. 시간의 전개에 있어서는 계산상의 오차를 감소시키기 위하여 강한 감쇠효과를 가지는 것으로 알려진 Euler backward scheme을 Leapfrog scheme과 결합하여 사용하였다. 또한, 격자체계로는 해의 안정성을 위하여 교차격자체계를 사용하였다. 본 논문에서는, 계산예로서 다양한 해저지형을 가진 직육면체 유체영역을 설정하여 조류의 연직구조와 조류의 방향에 미치는 해저지형의 효과를 조사하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된, 해저지형을 직접적으로 고려한 3차원 다중기법의 계산결과와 2차원 수심평균기법에 의한 계산결과를 비교하여, 조류의 크기와 방향은 특히 복잡한 해저지형을 가지는 천수역에서 해저지형에 의하여 크게 영향을 받음을 알 수 있었다.

수도권 스프롤 양상의 시공간적 변화 : 공간구조 기반 접근 (Spatio-temporal Changes of Urban Sprawl Process in Seoul Metropolitan Area : Spatial Structure-based Approach)

  • 우리나라와 같이 가용 국토면적이 좁은 상황에서 도시의 급격한 외연적 팽창은 여러 도시 및 환경문제의 원인으로 작용할 가능성이 커진다. 도시 스프롤로 인하여 발생하는 도시문제를 파악하고 이에 대한 대책을 마련하기 위해서는 그 양상에 대한 정확한 측정이 선행되어야 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 면적, 분포, 형태 등 공간구조 관점에서 수도권 스프롤 양상의 시공간적 변화를 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 경관 분석 툴인 FRAGSTATS을 이용하였다. 주된 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 1980년대 말 이래 수도권의 스프롤은 지속적으로 심화되고 있으며, 그 경향은 1990년대 보다 분명하였다. 1990대에는 비지적 개발이, 2000년대에는 충진 개발이 상대적으로 강하였다. 둘째, 권역별로 보면, 스프롤 경향과 개발의 방식이 권역별로 상이하게 나타났다. 경관지수 측면에서 과밀억제권역의 스프롤 경향이 가장 강하지만 충진 개발이 우세한 반면, 성장관리권역1의 경우 1990년대는 비지적 개발이, 2000년대에는 충진 개발이 우세하였다. 성장관리권역2의 경우 1980년대 이후 비지적 개발이, 자연보전권역의 경우 스프롤의 수준이 가장 약하지만 점차 그 경향이 강해지고 있다. 셋째, 수도권 스프롤 양상은 서울로부터의 거리와 방향에 따라 상이하였다. 1980년대 말에는 서울에 인접한 시군에서, 1990년대 말에는 서울 인접 시군과 남부지역에서, 2000년대 말에는 서울의 남부지역과 북부지역에서 스프롤 현상이 뚜렷하였다.

  • In the previous development of the recursive thermostat chained fully flexible cell molecular dynamics simulation, implicit time integration method such as generalized leapfrog integration is used. The implicit algorithm is very much complicated and not easy to show time reversibility because it is solved by the nonlinear iterative procedure. Thus we develop simple, explicit symplectic time integration formula for the recursive thermostat chained fully flexible unit cell simulation. Uniaxial tension test is performed to verify the present explicit algorithm. We check that the present simulation satisfies the ergodic hypothesis for various values of fictitious mass and coefficient of multiple thermostat system. The proposed method should be helpful to predict mechanical and thermal behavior of nano-scale structure.

상보형 전류미러를 이용한 저전압 전류모드 필터의 설계 (Low-voltage current-mode filters using complementary current mirrors)

  • In this paper, a design of current-mode continuous-time filters for low voltage and high frequency applictions using complementary bipolar current mirror paris is presented. The proposed current-mode filters consist of simple bipolar current mirrors and capacitors and are quite suitable for monolithic integrtion. Since the design method of the proposed curent-mode filters is based on the integrator type of realization, it can be used for a wide range of applications. And the cutoff frequency of th efilters can be easily changed by the DC cntrolling current. As design examples, the 5th order butterworth filters are designed by cascade and leapfrog methods with tunable cutoff frequencies from 30MHz to 100MHz. The characteristics of the designed current mode filters are simulated and examined by SPICE using standard bipolar transistor parameters.

Strongly coupled partitioned six degree-of-freedom rigid body motion solver with Aitken's dynamic under-relaxation

  • An implicit method of solving the six degree-of-freedom rigid body motion equations based on the second order Adams-Bashforth-Moulten method was utilised as an improvement over the leapfrog scheme by making modifications to the rigid body motion solver libraries directly. The implementation will depend on predictor-corrector steps still residing within the hybrid Pressure Implicit with Splitting of Operators - Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure Linked Equations (PIMPLE) outer corrector loops to ensure strong coupling between fluid and motion. Aitken's under-relaxation is also introduced in this study to optimise the convergence rate and stability of the coupled solver. The resulting coupled solver ran on a free floating object tutorial test case when converged matches the original solver. It further allows a varying 70%-80% reduction in simulation times compared using a fixed under-relaxation to achieve the required stability.

  • This paper describes a fast circuit simulation technique using the latency insertion method (LIM) with a parallel and distributed leapfrog algorithm. The numerical simulation results on the PC cluster system that uses the cloud computing system are shown. As a result, it is confirmed that our method is very useful and practical.

기계산업에서의 중진국 함정과 기술추격: 한국 기계산업의 사례 (The 'Middle-Income Country Trap' and Technological Catch-up: The Case of the Machine Tools Industry in Korea)

  • One of the biggest problems of Korean economy is polarization of firms for export and domestic demand and that of conglomerates and SME's achievement. One of the culprits lies weakness of intermediate industry such as machine tool. Since intermediate industry is important path where export performance affects domestic demand and whose actor usually is SMEs with high spill over effect in labor market. Especially, intermediate industry Is vulnerable because of industrial policy biased In backward linkage effect. However if a country fails to develop intermediate industry above some critical point, that country would fall in low-tech equilibrium without growth. In case of benign circle where final goods industry growth leads growth of intermediate industry and again it leads that of final goods industry, it can reach high-tech equilibrium. By contrast, in opposite case where in industrialization latecomer fails to link industries likewise above some critical point that country would fall in low-tech equilibrium without growth. Moreover, for several reasons, machine tool firms of Korea have difficulty in catching up technology above critical point. Firstly. Conglomerate demander neglects their product. Secondly, even after success of development overcoming difficulties they fail to get market share for response of dumping of foreign competitors. And the last one is patent litigation of foreign competitors that incapacitate the technology development. For these, Korean machine tool firms fell in 'middle-income country trap' itself, since they stuck in some extent when they technologically catch up. Consequently, for latecomer country in machine tool industry to leapfrog meaningfully policy support is necessary, Weak intermediate industry does not Induce domestic firms and remained fragile. Therefore, localization, policy should reflect condition of technological catch up more than before, in order to be effective and fruitful. There should be turning point over relationship between conglomerates, major demander of machine tool and SME's, for only with active purchasing of conglomerate Korean machine industry can grow.
