In this paper, we fabricated a low-cost glucose sensor with a simpler structure and fabrication process than the existing glucose sensor. The currently used glucose sensor has a three-layer structure with upper, middle, and bottom plates; here, we fabricated a single-layer glucose sensor using only a printing and dispensing process. We successfully fabricated the glucose sensor using a simple method involving the formation of an electrode and insulator layer through a 2- or 3-step printing process on plastic or paper film, followed by the dispensing of glucose oxidase solution on the electrode. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and cyclic amperometry (CA) measurements were used to evaluate the characteristics of the fabricated single-layer glucose sensor. Also, its sensitivity was analyzed through glucose-controlled blood measurements. Hence, a low-cost single-layer glucose sensor was fabricated with evaluation of its characteristics demonstrating that it has useful application in medicine.
This is paper, a new structure to effectively improve the Vce(sat) voltage and latch-up current in NPT type IGBTs with hole barrier layer and diverter. The hole barrier layer acts as a barrier to prevent the holes from flowing into the p-layer and stores them in the n-layer. And the diverter significantly reduce hole current from flowing into the p-layer and improve latch up current. Analysis on the Breakdown voltage shows identical values compared to existing Conventional IGBT structures. This shows an improvement on Vce(sat) and Latct-up current without lowering other characteristics of the device. The electrical characteristics were studied by MEDICI simulation results.
The published studies usually used analytical method, numerical methods or experimental method to determine the stress-strain state and displacement of the single-layer or multi-layer curved shell types, but with a small scale model. However, a full scale multi-layer doubly curved concrete shell roof model should be researched. This paper presents the results of the experiment and simulation analysis involving stress-strain state, sliding between layers, the formation and development of the full scale double-layer doubly curved concrete shell roof when this shell begins to crack. The results of the this study have constructed the load-sliding strain relationship; strain diagram; stress diagram in the shell layers; the Nx, Ny membrane force diagram and deflection of shell. Thisresults by experimental method on a full scale model of concrete have clarified the working of multi-layer doubly curved concrete shell roof. The experimental and simulation results are compared with each other and compared with the Sap2000 software.

This study was initiated to investigate soil chemical properties under different soil systems. Data such as soil acidity(pH), electrical conductivity(EC), organic matter content(OMC), and cation exchange capacity(CEC) were analyzed with samples from multi-layer, USGA, and mono-layer systems. N, P, K and micronutrients were also measured. Multi-layer system was built up to 60-cm depth with rootzone layer, intermediate layer and two drainage layers. USGA system 45 centimeters deep was constructed with rootzone layer, intermediate layer and drainage layer. Mono-layer system, however, was made only with a 30-cm rootzone layer. Differences were observed in soil pH, EC, OMC, CEC and micronutrients. Soil pH was acceptable for turfgrass growth a year after establishment, being 5.5 to 6.5 in the study. Differences were greatly observed for EC among soil systems. Values of EC for multi-layer, USGA, and mono-layer systems were 39.79, 31.26 and 103.54 uS/em, respectively. The increase rate was approximately 4 to 8 times greater with mono-layer system than those with other two systems. Therefore, it was necessary to avoid micronutrient deficiency such as Fe, Mn etc. through an effective management program in mono-layer system because of its faster potential feasibility of salt accumulation. The greatest OMC was associated with USGA system, being 0.97% which was 11% over that of the other systems. Slight differences were observed for CEC among them. Mono-layer system produced 1.45 me/100g, 10.3% and 8.9% lower in CEC than those of multi-layer and USGA system, respectively. Micronutrients such as Fe, Zn, and Mn etc. were below the level required for turf growth, regardless of soil systems. It was considered that one year after turf establishment was not enough to build up micronutrients in sand-based soil systems to the normal level for a turf growth. These results demonstrate that intensive management program including grow-in concept fertilization should be integrated into sand-based soil systems, even after a year in establishment. Regular nutrient monitoring by soil analyses is a strong necessity to decide the kinds and amount of fertilizer. Also, strategic management program must be selectively employed according to sports turf soil systems.
Optimum design of a viscoelastic damping layer which is unconstrainedly cohered on a steel plate is discussed from the viewpoint of the modal loss factor. Themodal loss factor is analyzed by using the energy method to the base steel plate and cohered damping layer. Optimum distributions of the viscoelastic damping layer for modes are obtained by sequentially changing the position of a piece of damping layer to another position which contributes to maximizing the modal loss factors. Analytical procedure performed by using this method simulated for 3 fundamental modes of an edge-fixed plate. Simulated results indicate that the modal loss factor ratios can be increase by as much as 210%, or more, by optimizing the thickness distribution of the damping layer to two times of the initial condition which is entirely covered. Optimum configurations for the modes are revealed by positions where added damping treatments become most effective. The calculated results by this method are validated by comparison with the experimental results and the calculated results obtained by the Ross-Ungar-Kerwin's model in the case of the layer is uniformly treated over the steel plate.

Fractures of galvannealed coating layer during actual press forming in automotive applications were observed by scanning electron microscopy in order to understand fracture mechanism. Fracture behaviors of galvannealed coating layer in extra deep drawing quality steels and high strength steels have been studied by performing the tests describing the representative plastic deformation in sheet metal forming such as uni-axial tensile test, compression test, bi-axial test and plane strain test. Growth and direction of cracks were deeply related to the plastic deformation modes and history. The material properties of galvannealed coating layer were investigated by nano-indentation test equipped with Berkovich diamond indentor for the specimens. Hardness and elastic modulus of the coating layer were higher than bared steels and that was the reason for crack of coating layer. Flat friction test and drawbead friction test were performed to observe the effect of the surface morphology on the frictional characteristics. The micro-plasto hydrodynamic lubrication were appeared and played an important role in reducing the coefficient of friction.
The effects of gas composition, pressure, temperature and time on the case thickness, hardness and nitride formation in the surface of tool steels(STD11 and STD61) have been studied by micro-pulse plasma nitriding. External compound layer and internal diffusion layer and the diffusion layer were observed in the nitrided case of tool steels. The relative amounts and kind of phases formed in the nitrided case changed with the change of nitriding conditions. Generally, only nitride phases such as ${\gamma}(Fe_4N)$, ${\varepsilon}(Fe_{2-3}N)$, or $Cr_{1.75}V_{0.25}N_2$ phases were detected in the compound layer, while nitride and carbide phases such as ${\varepsilon}-nitride(Fe_{2-3}N)$, $(Cr,Fe)_{\gamma}C_3$ or $Fe_3C$ were detected in the diffusion layer by XRD analysis. The thickness of compound layer increased with the increase of nitrogen content in the gas composition. Maximum case depth was obtained at gas pressure of 200Pa.

A pure hafnium-carbide (HfC) coating layer was deposited onto carbon/carbon (C.C) composites using a vacuum plasma spray system. By adopting a SiC buffer layer, we successfully integrated C.C composites with a $100-{\mu}m-thick$ protective coating layer of HfC. Compared to the conventional chemical vapor deposition process, the HfC coating process by VPS showed increased growth rate, thickness, and hardness. The growth behavior and morphology of HfC coatings were investigated by FE-SEM, EDX, and XRD. From these results, it was shown that the addition of a SiC intermediate layer provided optimal surface conditions during the VPS procedure to enhance adhesion between C.C and HfC (without delamination). The thermal ablation test results shows that the HfC coating layer perfectly protected inner C.C layer from thermal ablation and oxidation. Consequently, we expect that this ultra-high temperature ceramic coating method, and the subsequent microstructure that it creates, can be widely applied to improve the thermal shock and oxidation resistance of materials under ultra-high temperature environments.
Internet-of-Things (IoT) becomes one of the most promising future paradigms, which foresees enormous amounts of interoperable things and heterogeneous services. The goal of IoT is to enable all things connected and brings all kinds information and services to people. However, such a great deal of information may lead to cognitive overload or restrain in productivity of people. Thus, it is a necessity to build intelligent mechanisms to assist people in accessing the information or services they needed in a proactive manner. Most of previous related mechanisms are built on well-defined web services and lack of consideration of constrained resources. This paper suggests a services composition method by adapting a hierarchical model, which is a graph-based model composed of four layers: Context Layer, Event Layer, Service Layer and Device Layer. With a such multi-layer graph, service composition can be achieved by the iteration of layer by layer. Then, to evaluate the effectiveness of this proposed hierarchical model, a real-life emergency response dataset is applied and the experimental results are composed with the general probabilistic method and indicate that the proposed method is help for compositing multiple services while considering given context and constrained resources.

The electrical performances of organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) have been improved for the last decade. In this paper, it was demonstrated that the electrical characteristics of the organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) were improved by using polymeric material as adhesion layer on gate insulator. We have investigated OTFTs with polyimide adhesion layer which was fabricated by vapor deposition polymerization (VDP) processing and formed by co-deposition of 2,2-bis (3,4-dicarboxyphenyl) hexafluoropropane dianhydride and 4,4'-oxydianiline. It was found that the OTFTs with adhesion layer showed better electrical characteristics than with bare layer because of good matching between semiconductor and gate insulator. Our devices of performance are field effect mobility of $0.4cm^2/Vs$, threshold voltage of -0.8 V and on-off current ratio of $10^6$. In addition, to improve the electrical characteristics of OTFT, we have reduced the thickness of adhesion layer up to a few nanometrs.
