고속도로변 폐쇄회로 카메라 영상에서 트래킹에 의한 교통정보수집 알고리즘 (An Algorithm for Collecting Traffic Information by Vehicle Tracking Method from CCTV Camera Images on the Highway)

  • There are many inductive loop detectors under the highways in Korea. Among the other detectors, some are image detectors. Almost all image detectors are focused one or two lane of the road and are measuring traffic information. This paper proposes to an algorithm for detecting traffic information automatically from CCTV camera images installed on the highway. The information which is counted in one lane or two contains some critical errors by occlusion frequently in case of passing larger vehicles. In this paper, we use a tracking algorithm in which the detection area include all lanes, then the traffic informations are collected from the vehicles individually using difference images in this detection area. This tracking algorithm is better than lane by lane detecting algorithm. The experiment have been conducted two different real road scenes for 20 minutes. For the experiments, the images are provided with CCTV camera which was installed at Kiheung Interchange upstream of Kyongbu highway, and video recording images at Chungkye Tunnel. For image processing, images captured by frame-grabber board 30 frames per second, 640${\times}$480 pixels resolution and 256 gray-levels to reduce the total amount of data to be Interpreted.

  • Lane marking detection is one of important issues in the field of autonomous mobile robot. Especially, in urban environment, like pavement roads of downtown or tour tracks of Science Park, which have continuous patterns on the surface of the road, the lane marking detection becomes more important ability. Although there were many researches about lane detection and lane tracing, many of them used vision sensors mainly to detect lane marking. In this paper, we obtain 2 dimensional library data of 'Intensity' and 'Distance' using one laser rangefinder only. We design a simple classifier and filtering algorithm for the lane detection which uses only one LRF (Laser Range Finder). Allowing extended usage of LRF, this research provides more functionality not only in range finding but also in lane detecting to mobile robots. This work will be technically helpful for robot developers to design more simple and efficient autonomous driving system using LRF.

오픈소스 하드웨어 기반 차선검출 기술에 대한 연구 (Lane Detection based Open-Source Hardware according to Change Lane Conditions)

  • 최근 자동차 산업은 IT 기술을 접목하여 운전자에게 편의를 제공하기 위한 운전자 보조 시스템에 관한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 차선 이탈 방지 및 자율 주행에 적용 가능한 도로상태 변화에 강인한 차선 검출 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 Otsu 임계값 결정 방법과 가우시안 필터와 에지를 통한 후보 영역 검출 방법을 이용한다. 또한, 허프 변환을 통한 차선의 기울기와 폭 정보를 이용하여 차선을 검출한다. 실선뿐만 아니라 점선 차선 검출을 위해 기존에 검출된 차선 정보를 이용하여 다음 프레임에서 차선이 위치할 경로를 계산해 가상의 차선을 그려주는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 실선과 점선상황에서 차선 검출이 모두 가능했고 오픈소스 하드웨어인 라즈베리 파이 2에 적용할 경우 실시간 처리가 가능함을 확인했다.

  • This paper proposes an image processing algorithm for detecting obstacles on road-lane using DLI(disparity of lane-related information) that is generated by stereo images acquired from dual cameras mounted on a moving vehicle. The DLI is a disparity that is acquired using single lane information from road lane detection. For the purpose to reduce processing time, we use small blocks obtained by edge-histogram based blocking logic. This algorithm detects moving objects such as preceding vehicles and obstacles. The proposed algorithm has been implemented in a personal computer with the road image data of a typical highway. We successfully performed experiments under a wide variety of road conditions without changing parameter values or adding human intervention. Experimental results also showed that the proposed DLI is quite successful.

  • This paper describes a method of road tracking by using a vision and laser with extracting road boundary (road lane and curb) for navigation of intelligent transport robot in structured road environments. Road boundary information plays a major role in developing such intelligent robot. For global navigation, we use a global positioning system achieved by means of a global planner and local navigation accomplished with recognizing road lane and curb which is road boundary on the road and estimating the location of lane and curb from the current robot with EKF(Extended Kalman Filter) algorithm in the road assumed that it has prior information. The complete system has been tested on the electronic vehicles which is equipped with cameras, lasers, GPS. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the combined laser and vision system by our approach for detecting the curb of road and lane boundary detection.

안전주행을 위한 비전 기반의 차선변경보조시스템 개발 (Development of a Vision-based Lane Change Assistance System for Safe Driving)

  • 본 논문은 안전한 차선 변경을 위하여 측후방에서 접근하는 차량을 컴퓨터비전 알고리즘으로 탐지하여 운전자에게 알려주는 차선변경보조시스템에 대해 설명한다. 제안 시스템은 운전자가 차선변경을 시도하려 하면 영상 처리를 통하여 측후방 차량의 유무 및 움직임을 추적하여 차선 변경 가능 여부를 판단하여 운전자에게 알린다. 차선을 탐지 후 이를 기반으로 ROI(Region of Interest)을 설정하고, 이 영역내에서 광류 흐름 기법을 이용하여 접근하는 차량을 탐지한다. 제안된 알고리즘 및 시스템 검증을 위하여 실제 도로의 주행 영상을 사용하여 시험한 결과 91%의 차량 인식률을 보였고, 향후 상용화될 차선변경보조시스템에 적용 가능할 것이다.

  • 전방 추돌 경보 시스템(FCWS) 및 차선 이탈 경보 시스템(LDWS)은 운전자 보조 시스템(ADAS)의 중요한 요소이다. 차량 전방 카메라를 이용한 차선 이탈 경보 시스템은 일반적으로 취득한 영상에서 직선 형태의 차선이나 RANSAC 등을 이용한 곡선을 추적하여 차량의 중심과 비교하게 된다. 이러한 알고리즘은 넒은 범위의 차선이 요구되고 곡선에 취약한 약점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 Top-view 공간에서 현재 차량을 기준으로 차선 이탈 여부를 검사하는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 이 알고리즘은 좁은 범위의 차선으로도 차량 이탈 여부를 검사할 수 있으며 잡음에 영향을 거의 받지 않는 결과를 보여준다.

  • In this paper, we describe an algorithm which estimate road following direction using the vanishing point property and obstacle detection. This method of detecting the lane markers in a set of continuous lane highway images using linear approximation is presented. This algorithm is designed for accurate and robust extraction of this data as well as high processing speed. Also, this algorithm reckon distance and chase about an obstacle. It include four algorithms which are lane prediction, lane extraction, road following parameter estimation and obstacle detection algorithm. High accuracy was proven by quantitative evaluation using simulated images. Both robustness and the practicality of real time video rate processing were then confirmed through experiment using VTR real road images.

Diagonally-reinforced Lane Detection Scheme for High-performance Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

  • In this paper, several optimizations are proposed to enhance the quality of lane detection algorithms in automotive applications. Considering the diagonal directions of lanes, the proposed limited Hough transform newly introduces image-splitting and angle-limiting schemes that relax the number of possible angles at the line voting process. In addition, unnecessary edges along the horizontal and vertical directions are pre-defined and removed during the edge detection procedures, increasing the detecting accuracy remarkably. Simulation results shows that the proposed lane recognition algorithm achieves an accuracy of more than 90% and a computing speed of 92 frame/sec, which are superior to the results from the previous algorithms.
