This study is analyze future climate and land cover change affects behaviors for amount of streamflow and sediment discharge within basin. We used the climate forecast data in RCP 4.5 and 8.5 (2011-2100) which is opposite view for each other among RCP scenarios that are discussed for 5th report for IPCC. Land cover map built based on a social economic storyline in RCP 4.5/8.5 using Logistic Regression model. In this study we set three scenarios: one scenario for climate change only, one for land cover change only, one for Last both climate change and land cover change. It simulated amount of streamflow and sediment discharge and the result showed a very definite change in the seasonal variation both of them. For climate change, spring and winter increased the amount of streamflow while summer and fall decreased them. Sediment showed the same pattern of change steamflow. Land cover change increases the amount of streamflow while it decreases the amount of sediment discharge, which is believed to be caused by increase of impervious Surface due to urbanization. Although land cover change less affects the amount of streamflow than climate change, it may maximize problems related to the amount of streamflow caused by climate change. Therefore, it's required to address potential influence from climate change for effective water resource management and prepare suitable measurement for water resource.

As a technology to analyze and predict an issue has been developed by constructing real space into virtual space, it is becoming more important to acquire precise spatial information in complex cities. In this study, images were acquired using an unmanned aerial vehicle for urban area with complex landscapes, and land cover classification was performed object-based image analysis and semantic segmentation techniques, which were image classification technique suitable for high-resolution imagery. In addition, based on the imagery collected at the same time, the replicability of land cover classification of each artificial intelligence (AI) model was examined for areas that AI model did not learn. When the AI models are trained on the training site, the land cover classification accuracy is analyzed to be 89.3% for OBIA-RF, 85.0% for OBIA-DNN, and 95.3% for U-Net. When the AI models are applied to the replicability assessment site to evaluate replicability, the accuracy of OBIA-RF decreased by 7%, OBIA-DNN by 2.1% and U-Net by 2.3%. It is found that U-Net, which considers both morphological and spectroscopic characteristics, performs well in land cover classification accuracy and replicability evaluation. As precise spatial information becomes important, the results of this study are expected to contribute to urban environment research as a basic data generation method.
The Eurasian otter(Lutra lutra) is listed as No. 330 in natural monument. To manage and conserve habitat for otters, it is critical to understand which habitat components are important for otters. The objectives of this study were to analyze otter habitat characteristics in accordance with land-cover map. We investigated otter spraints and sprainting site in Geoje Island from January to December, 2004. with GPS coordinates. The analysis of otter habitat use pattern was used by Arcview ver. 3.2 with 1: 25,000 Topology Map and field data. Otter habitat use was strongly related to sites in riparian vegetation riparian(dam or river) structures. In this study, Gucheon was a site with high coverage of riparian vegetation and unconfined channels, thus recording higher number of spraint densities than those of Yeonchocheon. Yeonchocheon was under construction at lower stream areas so that otter habitat use was limited. This study suggests that securing suitable forests and riparian vegetation zone is essential for conservation of otters.

Short-term land cover changes, such as forest fire scar and crop harvesting, can be detected by high temporal resolution satellite imagery like MODIS and AVHRR. Because these optical satellite images are often obscured by clouds, the static cloud-free composite methods (maximum NDVI, minblue, minVZA, etc.) has been used based on non-overlapping composite period (8-day, 16-day, or a month). Due to relatively long time lag between successive images, these methods are not suitable for observing short-term land cover changes in near-real time. In this study, we suggested a new dynamic cloud-free composite algorithm that uses cut-and-patch method of cloud-masked daily MODIS data using MOD35 products. Because this dynamic composite algorithm generates daily cloud-free MODIS images with the most recent information, it can be used to monitor short-term land cover changes in near-real time. The dynamic composite algorithm also provides information on the date of each pixel used in compositing, thereby makes accurately identify the date of short-term event.
This study aims at examining the correlation between air temperature and urban structure such as land cover. For this, it measured summer air temperature by using data log type thermometer installed the inside of instrument screen, in the 9 points of elementary school in Haeundae, Busan. The accomplished results of this study are followings. 1) As altitude goes up 100m, air temperature drops to $0.6{\sim}1.0^{\circ}C$. 2) As building coverage ratio increases 10%, air temperature increases $0.3{\sim}0.4^{\circ}C$. 3) As floor space index increases 100%, air temperature increases $0.4{\sim}0.5^{\circ}C$. 4) As artificial coverage ratio increases 10%, air temperature increases $0.1{\sim}0.2^{\circ}C$. 5) As natural coverage ratio increases 10%, air temperature decreases $0.1{\sim}0.2^{\circ}C$.
Agricultural water demand in North Korea must be considered for the near-future investment in agricultural consolidation projects and to prepare for the future unification. Thus, the objective of this study is to estimate the agricultural water demand of paddy fieldss in North Korea. GIS data including land cover classification map, Thiessen network and administration maps of North Korea, and meteorological data were synthesized. In order to estimate paddy water demand for a 10-year return period, the FAO Blaney-Criddle method and the fixed effective rainfall ratio method were used. The results showed that 4.77 billion $\beta$(c)/year paddy water demand is required for the 512,400 ha of paddy fieldss. Paddy water demand in the three major regions - Hwanghaedo, Pyeongando, Hamgyeongnamdo - was estimated chargong 81.7 percent of total paddy water demand in North Korea.
This study aims to evaluate the usability of polarimetric SAR measurements for discriminating water-covered area from other land cover types and to propose polarimetric parameters showing the better response to the flood. Flood-related changes in the polarimetric parameters were studied using the L-band PALSAR-2 quad-pol mode data acquired before and after the severe flood events occurred in Joso city, Japan. The experimental results showed that, among various polarimetric parameters, the HH-polarization intensity, the Shannon entropy, and the surfaces scattering component of model-based decomposition were found to be useful to discriminate water-covered areas from other land cover types. Particularly, an unsupervised change detection with the Shannon entropy provides the best result for an automated mapping of flood extents.

The land cover classification by using remotely sensed image becomes necessary and useful for hydrologic and water quality related applications. The purpose of this study is to obtain land classification map by using remotely sensed data : Landsat TM and KOMPSAT-1 EOC. The classification was conducted by maximum likelihood method with training set and Tasseled Cap Transform. The best result was obtain from the Landsat TM merged by KOMPSAT EOC, that is, similar with statistical data. This is caused by setting more precise training set with the enhanced spatial resolution by using KOMPSAT EOC(6.6m${\times}$6.6m).
This is based on the AGENT-LUC model framework. Luangprabang Province has the largest percentage of shifting cultivation area in Laos PDR. The model simulates the spatial and temporal patterns of the shifting cultivation in the study area, using a GIS database while the total area of shifting cultivation is controlled by supply and demand balance of food. The model simulation period is from 1990 to 1999, at a spatial resolution of 500m. The results are evaluated using statistical data and remote sensing images. Through the validation, it is concluded that the trends simulated agrees to that of statistical data and the spatial and temporal patterns are also replicated satisfactorily.
In this study, land-cover classification was implemented using features extracted from multi-temporal SAR data through 3D wavelet transform and the applicability of the 3D wavelet transform as a feature extraction approach was evaluated. The feature extraction stage based on 3D wavelet transform was first carried out before the classification and the extracted features were used as input for land-cover classification. For a comparison purpose, original image data without the feature extraction stage and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) based features were also classified. Multi-temporal Radarsat-1 data acquired at Dangjin, Korea was used for this experiment and five land-cover classes including paddy fields, dry fields, forest, water, and built up areas were considered for classification. According to the discrimination capability analysis, the characteristics of dry field and forest were similar, so it was very difficult to distinguish these two classes. When using wavelet-based features, classification accuracy was generally improved except built-up class. Especially the improvement of accuracy for dry field and forest classes was achieved. This improvement may be attributed to the wavelet transform procedure decomposing multi-temporal data not only temporally but also spatially. This experiment result shows that 3D wavelet transform would be an effective tool for feature extraction from multi-temporal data although this procedure should be tested to other sensors or other areas through extensive experiments.
