  • A lot of rotating machines are being used in the industrial world and electric motor and generator take the most part of it. When it comes to the electric motor and generator, we can not help thinking about the eddy current because it brings a loss of electric and can be a important reason of the heat generation. To attenuate eddy current. laminated silicon steel sheets are being used in general. Especially, laminated rotor is being used for rotating part of the electric motor and generator and it decreases electrical loss and heat generation but we can be faced with another problem. In general, most of the motor and generator can be normally operated under 3600rpm because they are designed to have the first critical speed more than that speed. But nowadays, they should be operated more than the first critical speed as usual with the trend of high speed. large scale and high precision in industrial world. The critical speed can be determined from the inertia and stiffness for the rotor and bearing of rotating systems. The laminated rotor stiffness can be hardly determined because it can be derived a lot factors for instance rotor material and shape. lamination material and shape. insulation material. lamination force and so on. In this paper, the change of the natural frequency of the motor was examined with the change of the lamination force as an experimental method.

  • A lot of rotating machinery are generally used in industrial field and the electrical machinery such as the motor and generator account for the most of the part. Generally motor and generator have electrical loss because of eddy current. So silicon steel sheets are used in order to reduce the electrical loss and furthermore laminated rotor is used for motor and generator to eliminate the electrical loss and heat generation. However, the more high speed, large scale and high precision of the system, the more important to estimate the critical speed. In this paper verifies the variation of the critical speeds in accordance with the variation of the pressing force of lamination plate for the rotor which is supported by ball bearing with the experimental data as well.

  • Asymmetrical and unbalanced features such as rotor blade of helicopter, actuator of hard-disk in personal computer are usually manufactured with composite materials. In this case, mass distributions and center of gravity of the parts are important because of their static balancing. Therefore in the manufacturing processes, it is needed to check out the exact data of weight and gravity center. In this study, it has been studied experimentally the balancing of laminated rotor blade by using multiple-point weighing method and lab-view system.

  • Mixed-model production technology is a method of producing multiple products with one production process and production line in order to reduce wasted manpower and adjust to market trends. In other words, mixed-model production is a flexible production system that changes production volume by model according to market demand. This study has developed a progressive laminated stamping die technology to enable flexible production of a motor core consisting of attaching and detaching the Cam on the back of the punch so that two kinds of stator and two kinds of rotor could be produced in one progressive die.

  • This paper deals with design of Synchronous Reluctance Motor with conventional laminated rotor for driving an air conditional compressor in a vehicle. To design both stator and rotor, design parameters, such as laminated axial length, rotor diameter, resistance and inductance are considered. The design variables are selected to get the highest power by analyzing the characteristics. The current angle in which torque is maximum is accomplished by finite element method(FEM).

  • Rotating machines are widely used in industrial world and especially motor and generator take up much part of it. As for this kind of motor and generator, electrical loss due to eddy current is the very important factor and that is also a primary factor causes heat generation. To solve this kind of problem like the above. insulated laminating silicon steel sheet is used to prevent eddy current effect. Laminated rotor is widely used as rotating shaft of motor and generator. Due to that, electrical loss and heat problem can be solved but designer meets another problem. In general. most of the motor and generator can be normally operated under 3,600 rpm because they are designed to have the first critical speed more than that speed. But nowadays, they should be operated more than the first critical speed as usual with the trend of high speed, large scale and high precision in industrial world. The critical speed can be determined from the inertia and stillness for the rotor and bearing of rotating systems. The laminated rotor stiffness can be hardly determined because it can be derived a lot factors for instance rotor material and shape, lamination material and shape, insulation material. lamination force and so on. In this paper, the change of the natural frequency of the motor was examined with the change of the lamination force as an experimental method and design criteria will be presented for motor & generator designer, who can apply the result of numerical analysis with equivalent diameter scheme with ease.

  • Surface Permanent-Magnetic-Synchronous-Generator (SPMSG) discussed in the present study has operational characteristics such as high rotational speed over 1,000 rpm and centrifugal force of 12 kN·m for each magnet. Structure-development analysis for the minimization of rotor-core weights and the maximization of thermal emission is performed by applying the aluminum-laminated cap which combines the advantages of IPM and SPM in order to overcome the difficulty that attaching the magnet to rotor-core only with an adhesive. In this study, the simulations in terms of structure and electromagnetic were performed with the variable parameters such as shape and thickness of laminated-cap and division method of magnet. As a result, condition for minimized centrifugal force with minimum loss is derived.

  • This paper presents detailed characteristic of a Reluctance Synchronous Motor(RSM) which has a transverse-laminated rotor. First of all, the analysis of a magnetic circuit field between stator and rotor should be achieved in order to predict the performance characteristic of the RSM. For the analysis of a magnetic circuit field, the Finite Element(FE) analysis and a experimental method are used. The analytical result of the inductance flux distribution, vector potential, and the output shows some good characteristic along with the load condition.

  • The support bearing requires high DN to raise specific energy efficiency for the state of the art rotating machine with high speed. Especially for the system has a big rotor(670 kgf) with high speed(about one million DNs) such as the pulsed generator, the selection of the bearing and lubrication method are very important. So the study for the critical speed of hollow rotor as well in accordance with high speed rotor and a full analysis are needed for rotor bearing system. This paper describes the analysis for rotor bearing system of pulsed generator compared with experimental data. The bearing and lubrication method are discussed as well with experimental data.
