Synthesis of Small Molecule-Peptide Conjugates as Potential Whitening Agents

  • Small molecule conjugated peptides were prepared by solid-phase synthesis as potential novel whitening agents, and their melanogenesis inhibitory activities were investigated. The conjugated small molecules were well-known materials as tyrosinase inhibitors, and peptides were selected from the sequences that are known to antagonize melanocortin receptor 1 (MC1R). Most of small molecules-peptide conjugates showed superior melanin inhibition activity to kojic acid and arbutin. Among these, almost all compounds have -AR- sequence. From this study, we concluded that the small molecule conjugated peptides containing -AR- sequence have melanogenesis inhibitory activities and have potential to be used as novel whitening agents.

High-performance Barrier Rib Formation Processes for High-efficiency PDPs

  • We reported two new techniques of barrier rib formation that are applicable to a variety of structures for high-efficiency PDPs suitable for mass-production [1]. These two methods are mold replication and direct glass sculpting. Especial progress has since been made in improving these methods to be more suitable for high-efficiency PDPs with the DelTA cell structure. This paper reports photolithographic fabrication methods for the masters used in mold replication. The masters for more complex barrier rib forms are easier to make with these methods. The paper also reports a process that combines the direct glass sculpting method with an ink-jet printing method of electrode formation.

  • 배지의 영향에 대하여 검토하기 위하여 SDA, MHA, NA 및 BHIA를 사용하였으며, 시험균주 중 Pseudomonas aeruginosa에 대하여만 NA에서의 MIC 값이 낮게 나타났을 뿐 나머지 균주에 대하여는 배지에 따른 항균력 변화가 관찰되지 않았으며, 배지의 pH를 5.4-8.4까지 변화시켰을 때 pH 변화에 따른 DA-1131의 유의적인 항균력 변화와 접종균량에 따른 항균력 변화가 관찰되지 않았다. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)에 대하여는 DA-1131과 vancomycin 간의 상승 및 상가작용이 관찰되었고, P. aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter cloacae 및 Serratia marcescens 등의 균종에 대하여는 ciprofloxacin의 상가작용이 확인되었다. Sisomicin은 P. aeruginosa에 대한 상승 및 상가작용이 인정되었으나 ceftazidime은 DA-1131에 의한 길항작용이 관찰되었다.

  • DA-1131은 IPM이 D2 channel 특이적인 세포외막투과성을 나타내는 것과는 달리 D2 channel 이외에 azthreonam 투과경로도 이용하는 것으로 확인되었다. IPM 감수성 및 내성인 P aeruginosa 균주들에 대하여 $\beta$-lactamase의 inducible activity, hydrolytic susceptibility, affinity를 측정한 결과, Inducible activity는 DA-1131, PPM 및 MEPM이 거의 동일하였으며, 3가지 약물 모두 가수분해에 대한 안정성을 나타내었다. 그러나 $\beta$-lactamase에 대한 affinity는 IPM이 가장 컸고, MEPM, DA-1131의 순으로 감소하였다. DA-1131은 P8P2와 PBP3를 동시에 저해하며, IPM은 PBP2의 저해 후 순차적으로 PBP3를 저해하였고 이러한 시험결과는 PBPs blinding pattern과 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 알려진 균형태변화로도 확인되었다.

  • Analysis of interferon alpha (IFN) modified with high molecular weight branched PEG was performed by capillary electrophoresis (CE) and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). IFN was modified by the reaction of amine residues with an active ester of monomethoxy polyethylene glycol at various molar ratios. As a CE method. capilary electrophoresis sodium dodecyl sulfate nongel sieving (CE-SDS NGS) was performed using an uncoated capilary filled with a hydrophilic replaceable polymer network matrix.   • Radiation synovectomy is an useful alternative treatment to rheumatoid arthritis and Re$\^$188/ is suggested as an ideal radiopharmaceutical agents because beta ray (2.1 MeV) emitted from Re$\^$188/ is appropriate for synovial cell ablation and gamma ray (155 KeV) is ideal for dosimetry. Its' ideal particle size (2-5 mm) was achieved by conjugation with tin-colloid, In this study, we investigated the toxicity, stability and biodistribution to evaluate the suitability of DA-7911 as a synovectomy agent.   • A mini-projector prototype employing a LED light source, a nontelecentric structure, and an LCOS panel for application in the integrated 3D display was fabricated. A seamless image was obtained by tilting an array of mini-projectors. Seamless quality was created by the excellent uniformity of the projection intensity on the mini-projector's screen, which was simulated as 98.34%. Great uniformity can be realized by optimizing the design of the light source and the optics configuration, which is the key to such realization.

  • Ceramics with perovskite-type structure are interesting functional materials for several energy conversion processes due to their flexible structure and a variety of properties. Prominent examples are electrode materials in fuel cells and batteries, thermoelectric converters, piezoelectrics, and photocatalysts. The very attractive physical-chemical properties of perovskite-type phases can be modified in a controlled way by changing the composition and crystallographic structure in tailor-made soft chemistry synthesis processes. Improved thermoelectric materials such as cobaltates with p-type conductivity and n-type manganates are developed by following theoretical predictions and tested to be applied in oxidic thermoelectric converters.
