  • The Crab label tag with a loop matching feed and a modified dipole antenna structure was proposed. The antenna impedance is conjugated easily to a radio frequency identification IC chip impedance by a loop matching feed. The reading range of the crab structure tag is 0.9-1.0 m from the upper side of the formula milk can lid. The fabricated label tag size is $44.0{\times}44.0mm^2$. The operating frequency at -3 dB return loss is 861.0-929.0 MHz, and the maximum reading range at the anechoic chamber is 1.5 m.

  • A typical algorithm used for image analysis is the Convolutional Neural Network(CNN). R-CNN, Fast R-CNN, Faster R-CNN, etc. have been studied to improve the performance of the CNN, but they essentially require large amounts of data and high algorithmic complexity., making them inappropriate for small and medium-sized services. Therefore, in this paper, the image label prediction algorithm based on CNN with collaborative layer with low complexity, high accuracy, and small amount of data was proposed. The proposed algorithm was designed to replace the part of the neural network that is performed to predict the final label in the existing deep learning algorithm by implementing collaborative filtering as a layer. It is expected that the proposed algorithm can contribute greatly to small and medium-sized content services that is unsuitable to apply the existing deep learning algorithm with high complexity and high server cost.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine consumers' ability to distinguish advertorial and editorial about consumer information. The data were collected between June, 28 and July, 2 in 2010 through the Internet surveys. Total of 603 respondents were included in the analysis. The findings are follows as: First, consumers showed better ability to discern advertorial than ability to discern editorial. It implied that editorials could be considered as advertorial rather than advertorial could be considered as editorials. Second, it seems likely that rather than executional cues such as format and source information, the types of products/services were used as source cues among consumers. Third, consumers tend to prefer 'consumer information', 'advertorial' and 'advertisement' among 10 given advertising labels. In Conclusion, to prevent misleading potentials of advertorial and editorials, standardized advertising label should be used and notify consumers of advertising label.

  • The performance of a TCP protocol on MANETs has been studied in a numerous researches. One of the significant reasons of TCP performance degradation on MANETs is inability to distinguish between packet losses due to congestion from those caused by nodes mobility and as consequence broken routes. This paper presents the Cluster-Label-based Routing (CLR) protocol that is an attempt to compensate source of TCP problems on MANETs - multi-hop mobile environment. By utilizing Cluster-Label-based mechanism for Backbone, the CLR is able to concentrate on detection and compensation of movement of a destination node. The proposed protocol provides better goodput and delay performance than standardized protocols especially in cases of large network size and/or high mobility rate.

  • We analyze the property of candidate node set in the network graph, and propose an algorithm to decrease shortest path-finding computation time by using multiple dynamic-range queue(MDRQ) structure. This MDRQ structure is newly created for effective management of the candidate node set. The MDRQ algorithm is the shortest path-finding algorithm that varies range and size of queue to be used in managing candidate node set, in considering the properties that distribution of candidate node set is constant and size of candidate node set rapidly change. This algorithm belongs to label-correcting algorithm class. Nevertheless, because re-entering of candidate node can be decreased, the shortest path-finding computation time is noticeably decreased. Through the experiment, the MDRQ algorithm is same or superior to the other label-correcting algorithms in the graph which re-entering of candidate node didn’t frequently happened. Moreover the MDRQ algorithm is superior to the other label-correcting algorithms and is about 20 percent superior to the other label-setting algorithms in the graph which re-entering of candidate node frequently happened.

  • Strong backscattering features from high-resolution Synthetic Aperture Rader (SAR) image provide useful information to analyze earth surface characteristics such as man-made objects in urban areas. The SAR image has, however, some limitations on description of detail information in urban areas compared to optical images. In this paper, we propose a new classification method using a fused SAR and Electro-Optical (EO) image, which provides more informative classification result than that of a single-sensor SAR image classification. The experimental results showed that the proposed method achieved successful results in combination of the SAR image classification and EO image characteristics.

  • We have been developing a new label-free nanobio imaging platform using non-linear optics such as Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy (CARS) and ion beam techniques based on sputtering and scattering such as Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) and Medium Energy Ion Scattering Spectroscopy (MEIS), which have been widely used for atomic and molecular level analysis of semiconductors and nanomaterials. To apply techniques developed for semiconductors and nanomaterials for biomedical applications, the convergence of nano-analysis and biology were tried. Our activities on label-free nanobio imaging during the last decade are summarized in this review about non-linear optical 3D imaging, ellipsometric interface imaging, SIMS imaging, and TOF-MEIS nano analysis for cardiovascular tissues, collagen thin films, peptides on microarray, nanoparticles, and cell adhesion studies and finally the present snapshot of nanobio imaging and the future prospect are described.

  • The purpose of the present study is to investigate how closely care labels comply with the 1984 version of the Care Labeling Rule, as well as the change in degree of compliance prior to and after the 1988 IFI care label campaign. Label information was analyzed on the basis of country of origin. The information was also divided into two sets. The basis for dividing the data into two sets was the beginning of the IFI care label campaign in 1988 The data were obtained from 1147 checklists. The information for 1147 samples in six clothing categories were collected from department, specialty, and discount stores. Chi-square analyses were conducted to test hypotheses. While there was no significant difference in the number of incorrect labels on domestically produced garments compared to imported garments in set 1, there was a significant difference in set 2. Also, there was a significnat differnece in the number of incorrect labels between in set 1 and in set 2.

  • Secret sharing is that a dealer distributes a piece of information (called a share) about a secret to each participant such that authorized subsets of participants can reconstruct the secret but unauthorized subsets of participants cannot determine the secret. In this paper, an access structure can be represented by a label graph G, where a vertex denotes a participant and a complete subgraph of G corresponds to a minimal authorized subset. The vertices of G are labeled into distinct vectors uniquely determined by the maximum prohibited structure. Based on such a label graph, a verifiable secret sharing scheme realizing general access structures is proposed. A major advantage of this scheme is that it applies to any access structure, rather than only structures representable as previous graphs, i.e., the access structures of rank two. Furthermore, verifiability of the proposed scheme can resist possible internal attack performed by malicious participants, who want to obtain additional shares or provide a fake share to other participants.

  • Label-free optical methods for the monitoring of interactions between biological molecules have become increasingly popular within the last decade. A rising number of publications have demonstrated the benefits of direct biomolecular interaction analysis(BIA) for biology and biochemistry, such as antigen-antibody Interactions, receptor-ligand interactions, protein-DNA, DNA- intercalator, and DNA-DNA interactions. This article gives an overview of the historical development, principle and application of label-free optical biosensor to examine the functional characteristics of biospecific interaction, such as kinetics, affinity, and binding position of biomolecular between an immobilized species at the transducer surface and its dissolved binding partner.
