In this paper, we have analyzed the packet error probability of DS/CDMA-Trellis Coded QPSK modulation signal with MRC(Maximum Ratio Combining) diversity reception in Rician fading, multi-user interferences and multipath channel. And then we have evaluated the performance and capacity of DS/CDMA-Trellis Coded QPSK system using the MRC diversity reception as a function of direct power to indirect power ratio ($K_R$), the number of diversity branch(M), the number of multi-user(U), PN chip rate(PN), the number of multipath channel($L_P$), and packet length(PL). From the results, we know that the coding gain of DS/CDMA-Trellis Coded QPSK system with 2 branch MRC diversity is about 6 dB against uncoded DS/CDMA BPSK system with 2 branch MRC diversity in Rician fading ($K_R=6dB), 5 multi-user interferences, and 3 multipath channel. And, we know that coded QPSK signal designed for the AWGN channel also perform well on a Rician fading channel with MRC diversity reception. Consequently, we expected that proposed system structure is reliable to the wireless data communication system in Rician fading, multi-user interferences, and multipath channel.

This paper proposes a technique for applying space-time block coding (STBC) - Alamouti scheme on Multiple Inputs Multiple Output (MIMO) system based on IEEE 802.15.4 standard. It is applied to IEEE 802.15.4 standard in $2{\times}1$ MISO and $2{\times}2$ MIMO systems. Simulation is performed using Matlab and the results are compared with conventional IEEE 802.15.4 approaches, Single Input Single Output (SISO) system and switching diversity $1{\times}2$ Single Input Multiple Output (SIMO) system. The simulations show that applied Alamouti scheme gave better Bit Error Rate (BER) performance compared to combined IEEE 802.15.4 with switching diversity and SISO system.

Soybean (Glycine max L.) is crucial legume crop as source of high quality vegetable protein and oil, and Korea is regarded as a part of center of soybean origin. To expand the information of conserved genetic diversity, we analyzed the genetic variability of soybean collection mainly introduced Korean accessions using 75 microsatellite markers. A total of 1,503 alleles with an average value of 20.0 alleles were detected among 644 accessions. Korean collection revealed average allele number of 13.4 while Chinese, Japanese and Southeast Asian accessions showed 9.0, 5.4 and 6.5 mean alleles, respectively. Especially, Korean accessions showed more number of private allele per locus as 3.4 contrary to other geographical groups. The mean expected heterozygosity and polymorphic information content was 0.654 and 0.616, respectively, and expected heterozygosity values were not significantly distinguished according to the geographical groups. The phylogenetic dendrogram and deduced population structure based on DNA profiles of 75 SSR loci showed Korean accessions formed distinct gene pool against Chinese accessions, and could be divided into five subpopulations. Korean soybean accessions have specific genetic diversity and might be serve the valuable alleles for bio-industry as a part of the center of soybean origin.

In this study, the elevational distribution of breeding birds in Seoraksan National Park, Korea was investigated. Forty-six species of birds were documented from line transect surveys taken from Seorakdong at 230 m above sea level (a.s.l.) to the Daechungbong summit at 1708 m asl. Birdspecies richness and diversity were highest in Seorakdong and lowest at the Daechungbong summit. As elevation increased, bird species richness and diversity decreased, with a humped-shape trend being observed between 700 m and 1200 m a.s.l. Stepwise analyses revealed that breeding bird species diversity indices were significantly negatively correlated with elevation (r² = 0.327, P < 0.001) and positively correlated with vegetational coverage (r² = 0.324, P = 0.046). Higher elevations supported fewer birds than low and intermediate elevations. Projections at the local scale, including data on behavior and habitat use by birds, will be necessary for optimal conservation and management of the bird communities in Seoraksan National Park.

The phylogenetic diversity of microbial communities in calcareous mats from Spearfish Creek, a freshwater stream located in the Black Hills of South Dakota, was examined using PCR-based 16S rDNA sequence analysis. In this study, two types of calcareous mats were compared: mature mats formed on the natural substrate of rock surfaces and developing mats on an artificial substrate of glass slides. Among 63 unique isolates from a clone library of 16S rRNA genes from mature mat samples, there were 8 phyla of Bacteria represented. The predominant phylum was Proteobacteria (48%), with the $\beta$ subclass being the largest group. Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) analysis of 16S rRNA genes from slide samples collected at intervals for four months showed considerable diversity of the microbial community from the earliest stages of community development. Amplicons isolated from DGGE gels and sequenced indicated that community succession has occurred without increasing microbial diversity. However, light microscopic analysis revealed a significant increase in microbial cell density throughout the community development. Scanning electron microscopy of mat samples provides evidence that diatoms are also important members of calcareous mat communities.

To determine the minimum area for conservation of four Halophytic species populations, we evaluate the genetic diversity of four species based on the AFLP method using thirteen primer sets. Four species populations, Phragmites communis Trin, Suaeda japonica Makino, Zoysia sinica Hance, and S. maritima (L.) Dumort, from the southwestern coast of Korea, were selected for this study. The genetic diversity index ($\Psi_{ST}$) of Phragmites communis was 0.3856, Suaeda japonica 0.1445, Suaeda maritima 0.1669, and Zoysia sinica 0.2422. Based on the genetic diversity of population, we could determine the minimum area for conservation of each species as follows. P. communis needs $500{\times}500m^2$, S. japonica, S. maritima, and Z. sinica $100\times100m^2$ for keeping their genetic identity.

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate basic information on genetic structure and characteristics of Limousin population in Hungary. Obtained results will be taken into consideration when adopting the new breeding strategy by the Association of Hungarian Limousin and Blonde d'Aquitaine Breeders (AHLBB). Methods: Genetic diversity and phylogenetic relationship of 3,443 Limousin cattle from 16 different herds were investigated by performing genotyping using 18 microsatellite markers. Amplified DNA was genotyped using an automated genetic analyzer. Results: Mean of effective alleles ($n_e$) of the populations was 3.77. Population C had the lowest number of effective alleles (3.01) and the lowest inbreeding coefficient ($F_{IS}$) value (-0.15). Principal component analysis of estimated genetic distance ($F_{ST}$) values (p<0.000) revealed two herds (C and E) distinct from the majority of other Limousin herds. The pairwise $F_{ST}$ values of population C compared to the others (0.066 to 0.120) fell into the range of moderate genetic distance: 0.050 to 0.150, while population E displayed also moderate genetic distance ($F_{ST}$ values in range 0.052 to 0.064) but only to six populations (G, H, J, L, N, and P). $F_{ST(C-E)}$ was 0.148, all other pairs -excluding C and E herds- displayed low genetic distance ($F_{ST}$<0.049). Population D, F, I, J, K, L, N, O, and P carried private alleles, which alleles belonged to 1.1% of the individuals. Most probable number of clusters (K) were 2 and 7 determined by Structure and BAPS software. Conclusion: This study showed useful genetic diversity and phylogenetic relationship data that can be utilized for the development of a new breeding strategy by AHLBB. The results presented could also contribute to the proper selection of animals for further whole genome scan studies of Limousins.

Cryptic stages of diverse macroalgae present in natural substrata, "the bank of microscopic forms", were isolated into clonal cultures and identified based on both morphological characteristics and DNA barcoding. Approximately 120 clonal isolates from 308 natural substratum samples were collected from the entire coastline of Kuwait. Amongst these isolates, 77 (64%) were identified through DNA barcoding using the nuclear ribosomal small subunit, RuBisCO spacer (ITS2, tufa, rbcL, psaA, and psbA) and sequencing. Twenty-six isolates (34%) were identified in the division Chlorophyta, 18 (23%) as Phaeophyceae, and 33 (43%) as Rhodophyta. For all DNA sequences in this study, species-level cut off applied was ≥98% homology which depend entirely on the markers used. Three putative new records of Chlorophyta new for the Arabian Gulf were made: Cladophora laetevirens (Dillwyn) Kützing, Ulva torta (Mertens) Trevisan and Ulvella leptochaete (Huber) R. Nielsen, C. J. O'Kelly & B. Wysor in Nielsen, while Cladophora gracilis Kützing and Ulva ohnoi M. Hiraoka & S. Shimada are new records for Kuwait. For Phaeophyceae, Ectocarpus subulatus Kützing and Elachista stellaris Areschoug were new records for the Gulf and Kuwait. In the Rhodophyta, Acrochaetium secundatum (Lyngbye) Nägeli in Nägeli & Cramer, Ceramium affine Setchell & N. L. Gardner, Gelidium pusillum var. pakistanicum Afaq-Husain & Shameel and Dasya caraibica Børgesen are new records for the Gulf and Kuwait, while the red alga Stylonema alsidii (Zanardini) K. Drew is a new record for Kuwait. Several isolates identified corresponded to genera not previously reported in Kuwait and / or the Arabian Gulf, such as Porphyrostromium Trevisan, a new genus from the Bangiales, and two unidentified species for the Planophilaceae Škaloud & Leliaert. The isolates cultivated from substrata enhance understanding of the marine macroalgal diversity in the region and confirmed that the Germling Emergence Method is suitable for determining the actual diversity of a given study area through isolation from cryptic life-history phases.

We tested for the presence of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) mycovirus in 827 Fusarium graminearum isolated from diseased barley and maize. dsRNA mycoviruses with various sizes were isolated. Of them, it was previously reported that dsRNA from DK2l isolate had pronounced morphological changes, including reduction in mycelial growth, increased to red pigmentation, reduced virulence and sporulation. (Chu et al., Appl. Environ. Microbiol. 2002). For better understanding of this hypovirulence associated with DK2l dsRNA virus, we determined the complete nucleotide sequence of dsRNA genome and named Fusarium hypovirus DK2l strain (Fhv-DK2l ). Genomic RNA of Fhv-DK2l was determined to be 6625 nucleotides in length excluding the poly (A) tail and contained three putative open reading frame. RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) and helicase domain were expected in ORF A, 54 to 4709 nucleotide position. ORE B, 4752 to 5216 nucleotide position, and ORF C, 5475 to 6578 nucleotide position, were predicted to encode 16.7kDa and 41.3kDa protein respectively each. We could not detect any conserved domains from these two proteins. Phylogenetic analysis showed Fhv-DK2l was related to Cryphonectria hypovirus 3. Ten additional isolates were found that were infected with dsRNA mycoviruses. These mycoviruses contain 2 to 4 different segments of dsRNAs with the size range of approximately 1.7 to 10-kbp in length. The presence of dsRNAs isolates did not affect colony morphology and were transmissible through conidia and ascospore with incidence of 30-100％. These results indicate that there is genomic diversity of dsRNA mycoviruses that infect F. graminearum isolates and that impact of virus infection on host's morphology and virulence is determined by the interaction between dsRNAs and the fungal host, not by the mere presence of the dsRNAs

The Purpose of this study is to analyze of Specialization and Diversity of Rural Amenity Resources Planning. It will be performed analysis of the degree of specialization and diversity in each city and district of Chungcheongnam-do Province. Specialization and diversity indices were calculated by separately category of rural amenity resources into natural, cultural, and societal resources. The results of calculating the specialization degree of rural amenity resources based on a location index showed that eleven regions (Asan City, Buyeo District, Gyeryong City, Gongju City, Nonsan City, Boryeong City, Seocheon District, Seosan City, Seajong District, Cheongyang District and Yesan City) specialized in natural resources; four regions (Geumsan District and Hongseong Distriect) specialized in cultural resources; and six regions (Dangjin District, Cheonan City) specialized in societal resources. Examining resource specialization degrees by regions, there was a high number of regions specialized in natural and societal resources while those specialized in cultural resources were the rarest. Examining the calculation results for the tendency of resource specialization degree by areas showed that, with natural and cultural resources specialized regions, the average specialization degree showed a clear distinction with a 2.19 natural resource specialization degree and a 2.05 societal resource degree; However, in contrast, areas specialized in cultural resources-with an average degree of 1.52-were judged as not being especially more specialized than the average degree of Chungcheongnam-do Province. Also, there was seen a great gap between regions with high diversity and regions with low diversity of rural amenities, and measures to solve this difference is required.
