We reprot on the fabrication and characterization of InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well light-emitting diode (LED) with a highly transparent Pt ohmic contact as a current spreading layer. The value of light transmittance of a Pt thin film with a thickness of 8 nm on-GaN was measured to be 85% at 450 nm. The peak wavelength and the full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) of the emission spectrum of the LED at 20 mA were 453 nm and 23 nm, respectively. Pt-contacted LEDs show good electrical properties and high light-output efficiency compared to Ni/Au-contacted ones. These results suggest that a Pt thin film can be used as an effective current spreading layer with high light-transparency.

The purpose of the present study is to investigate the electrophoretic patterns of ADH isozymes and activity at various developmental stages of Oregon-R and Kwangju strains of D. melanogaster. The ADH isozymes were seperated by agarose gel plate eletrophoresis and they were stained for ADH activity study. The optical density was measured by using densitometer and the total activity was determined by measuring the enzyme solution's absorbance of 340 nm by spectrophotometer. The results are as follows: 1. At egg stages of Oregon-R and Kwangju strains ADH 2, ADH 3, ADH 4 were observed in te zymograms, but all of ADH 1, ADH 2, ADH 3, ADH 4 and ADH 5 were detected in larval, pupal and imaginal stages. 2. The amount of ADH 1+ADH 2 (anion) was 20-40% and that of ADH 3+ADH 4+ADH 5 (cation) was 60-805. In the developmental stages other, than egg stages, ADH 3 of both strains showed the largest amount among all ADH isozymes, and especially ADH 4 of Kwangju strain showed less amount than that of Oregon-R strain. 3. The total activity of the ADH at the egg stage was found to be the lowest, at larval stage became to be higher and to be lower at pupal stage and then became to be the highest at the imaginal stage. It is noticeable that the activity of the ADH in Kwangju strain was higher than that in Oregon-R strain.

1. Objectives The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of Sasang constitutional medical diagnosis and treatment on Taeumin's Hangueol syndrome, probably caused by Iatrogenic Adrenal Insufficiency. 2. Methods The subject is a 75 years old woman who has a severe chilling symptom without fever, probably caused by Iatrogenic Adrenal Insufficiency, and we had diagnosed her syndrome as Taeumin's Hangueol syndrome and prescribed Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 3. Results The scale of chilling symptom has been reduced. 4. Conclusions This case study shows an effcient results by using Sasang Constitutional Medicine in treatment of Taeumin's chilling syndrome.

A scab disease occurred on watermelon seedlings by the infection of Cladosporium cucumberinum. This is the first report demonstrating the scab disease on watermelon in Korea. The casual agent attacked all plant parts of the seedlings on the ground. Infection sites were initiated with sunken and dark green spots, and then suddenly developed to large lesions softened with gummy substances. When hypocotyl and leaf stalk of seedlings were infected and softened, upper parts of seedlings were brokin down, dried and eventually died. Conidiophores of the fungus were characterized by pale olivaceous brown color, and variable length of about 3-5 mm in width. Conidia were formed I long branched chains, and conidium was ellipsoidal, fusiform or subspherical single cell mostly without septum. Morphological characteristics of the fungus were almost identical to Cladosporium cucumerinum Ellis & Authur. The fungus was also pathogenic to cucumber, squash and oriental melon, suggesting that it is a common pathogen to cucurbits. However, the fungus was not pathogenic to bottle gourd.

The purpose of this study is both to describe and to explain the shapes and the changes of Kwangju women's productive activities from the middle of 1950's to the end of 1990's. Productive activities in this study include wage labors as well as economic activities in informal labor sector and domestic labor. Three factors - economic structure, the family, and women's consciousness - are drawn to explain women's work in Kwangju. The period from the middle of 1950's to the end of 1990's has been divided into 5 stages and the characteristics of women's work at each stage are as follows : Kwangju women during 1950's worked hard and contributed to the family economy not only inside but also outside the family : during the second stage from 1960's to 1970's, they accomplished not only the traditional women's role but also industrial wage worker : the third period of the first half of 1980's was the time for the development of social consciousness : the fourth period from the end of 1980's to the beginning of 1990's was the time when women tried to solve their problems by themselves: during the last period from the middle of 1990's to the end of 1990's. Kwangiu women wanted to establish their identities in the independent area from their families.

This study has an object of searching for appropriateness in applying the trip distribution model by studying the changes of the character of parameter which the model contains and by analyzing and evaluating trip distribution technique out of few steps of pre-estimate technique for the traffic demand through computer simulation centering around Kwangju. Method of this study is investigating the basic theory for trip distribution model and with this grounding, I rearranged it as research data for trip distribution model compatible for Kwangju, using data such as research data on actual state, the statistics annual report and basic plan for traffic full equipment of Kwangju. So, The most stable measure of the type of trip distribution of Kwangju city was produced in Fratar and Detroit model, however, gravity model has a little bit low reliance in sharing of estimation and actual survey although it is astringent in short period.

Objectives: This study aimed to offer basic resources needed to solve conflicts and problems of communication among dental hygienists working in dental clinics by comprehending and analyzing their in-depth communication experiences. Methods: Individual depth interviews were conducted with 10 dental hygienists who had over one year of clinical experience and worked in dental clinics in Gwangju, from September 16 to October 15, 2020. Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis was performed. Results: The results of the interviews were grouped into four central categories: lack of communication due to differences in position, relationships they want to avoid, return to joint work, beginning of new communication. The participants of this study experienced difficulties in communicating with dental hygienists in the clinical field, but they overcame the conflicts by trying to understand others by putting themselves in others' shoes. Conclusions: This study is expected to contribute to providing good quality medical services to patients by promoting effective communication among dental hygienists.

Atmospheric fine aerosol particles play an important role in controlling a number of atmospheric processes, such as the deposition of different compounds, the optical properties etc. (Molnar et al., 1999). In this report, water-soluble species of PM$_{2.5}$ obtained from simultaneous measurements at four Asia sites (Beijng (39.56$^{\circ}$N, 116.17$^{\circ}$E), China; Gwangju (35.10$^{\circ}$N, 126.53$^{\circ}$E), South Korea; Kyoto (35.01$^{\circ}$N, 135.44$^{\circ}$E), Japan; and Ulan-Bator (47.55$^{\circ}$N, 106.52$^{\circ}$E), Mongolia) during the periods of 14-22 August, 30 October-06 November 2000, 14-21 January 2001, 23 July-02 August and 05-16 November 2002, within the framework of an APN (The Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research) project are reported. Ion components in 23 July-02 August 2002 were not obtained because of the technical problem of equipments.s.

The magnet design is investigated by using the topology optimization and FEM. The design sensitivity equation for topology optimization is derived using the adjoint variable method and the continuum approach. The proposed method is applied to the topology optimization of C-core.
