We investigate potential advantages and problems when a superscalar processor is designed and implemented using asynchronous design methods. Conventional techniques of superscalar processing are applied and data dependent adder is considered as an asynchronous component. Intensive simulations on SPEC INT95 benchmark suites are made for the purpose of performance comparison between a synchronous and an asynchronous superscalar processor, respectively. The simulation results show about 5% speedup with asynchronous design methods in the sense of Issue Rate.

Triadin is a ryanodine receptor and calsequestrin binding protein located in junctional sarcoplasmic reticulum of striated muscles. In the present study, mouse cardiac triadin cDNAs have been identified by cDNA library screening and RT-PCR. The deduced aa sequences show that the three isoforms consist of 277, 293 and 305 aa giving rise to the molecular weights of approximately 31,414,33,066, and 34,328 respectively.(omtted)

We propose and demonstrate a novel optical pulse multiplier applicable to OTDM (Optical Time Division Multiplexing) systems using cascaded long-period fiber gratings. We have exploited the fact that each mode in a fiber has a different propagation constant to obtain time delays among optical pulses. The proposed scheme could realize high-frequency optical pulse multiplication for optical short pulse trains. We have successfully implemented two, four, and eight times multiplications with the maximum repetition rate of 416.7 ㎓. The obtained pulse delays are well matched with the simulated ones.

The response surface method (RSM) became a popular meta modeling technique, but it always contains the approximation error. Instead of the conventional RSM, the moving least squares method (MLSM) was used to get more accurate models. The characteristics of a single-phase induction motor for the reciprocal compressor are analyzed by using the lumped method Program (LMP). The proposed method is applied to a single-phase induction motor for increasing the efficiency.

The Sub-Y-type array is proposed to decrease the number of antennas keeping same resolution or to use same number of antennas in order to have a narrow 3dB beamwidth. When the sub-Y-type array is des igned with 136 antennas for comparison with MIRAS, the reduction rate is theoretically 30 %. The proposed ideas are evaluated by experimental interferometric radiometer at 37 GHz.

Protective effects of dithiol malonate derivatives (DMDs), YH-100, YH-150 and YH-439 on carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatotoxicity were investigated in primary rat hepatocytes culture. Treatment of DMDs to hepatocytes culture did not affect total cytochrome P-450 content and ECOD and AHH activities. Protein and RNA synthesis was also similar to control. Meanwhile, DMDs significantly decreased LDH release and in vitro lipid peroxidation induced by $CCI_4$. Accumulation of cellular triglyceride and decreased secretion of VLDL from liver cells by $CCI_4$ treatment were also significantly protected.

A new method for temperature compensation of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) using hi-metal is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Bi-metal bends toward the metal of low temperature expansion coefficient as the temperature increases, and this property is utilized to cancel the thermo-optic effect of the fiber. The optimum thickness of the high coefficient metal was empirically found by the trial-and-error method. The temperature sensitivities were 8.1 pm/$^{\circ}C$ and -0.018 pm/$^{\circ}C$ for the uncompensated and compensated FBGs, respectively, which indicates a reduction to a mere 0.22 % of the original sensitivity. No appreciable change in the spectral shape was observed. The packaging technique described in this paper is simple and compact, and it can be used for FBGs in WDM and DWDM communication systems that have stringent requirements on the temperature stability of the components.

In this paper, we describe the fabrication process of a photonic crystal fiber and present the measured optical properties of the photonic crystal fiber. The fabrication of the photonic crystal fiber involves stacking, jacketing, collapsing, and drawing using a conventional drawing tower The photonic crystal fiber drawing needs higher tension to maintain the uniform air hole structure. Thus, the temperature of the photonic crystal fiber drawing is lowered by a few hundred degrees Celsius than for the case of conventional optical fiber drawing. The optical properties of the fabricated photonic crystal fiber such as mode profile, optical loss, transmission spectrum, bending loss, and polarization dependent loss are measured.

프로세서 자원, 데이터 저장장치 자원을 제공하면서 가상기관(Virtual Organization)을 구성하는 각 사이트는 사용할 수 있는 네트윅 자원이 한정된 상황에서 애플리케이션 처리량을 극대화하는 최적화된 데이터그리드 시스템을 기대한다. 본 논문에서는 크기가 제한적이며 지리적으로 분산된 데이터 저장공간에서 적응적 데이터 복제 기법을 제안하고 Replica의 지리적 분배를 위한 평가 모델을 제안한다. 이를 위해 논리 시간 데이터 접근 기록 및 통계를 적용하여 복제할 파일들을 구분 하는 이산적 결정 모델을 제안하고 삭제할 Replica 결정에 논리 시간 접근 기록을 적용한다.

The cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs), a group of serine/threonine kinases that form active heterodimeric complexes binding to cyclins, are key regulators of the cell cycle. The role of cyclin dependent kinases(CDKs) in cell cycle regulation has stimulated an interest in them as potential targets for proliferative diseases such as cancer, psoriasis, and chemotherapeutic agent-induced alopecia. Indirubin, an active ingredient of a traditional Chinese recipe Danggui Longhui Wan, are potent CDK inhibitors competing with ATP for binding to the catalytic site of the CDKs. (omitted)
