KORAIL is one of the biggest consumer in electric power market so it is necessary to investigate power consumption pattern and optimize power rates. This paper presents simulation program for electric power rates define program based on billing system database. Base on the substation annual power usage DB data, the characteristic of the substation power consumption are investigated and effective electrical billing system are compared each other. Through this program it is verified that we can save more then several hundred million won for a year. Also electric train air condition power consumption was measured to figure the method how to reduce peak energy consumption.

Urban has been operating Korail and the local autonomous entity in Korea. Over 70 LRTs will be constructed in the future, but it is hard to manage them due to structural deficit from construction debt, so Public finance plays a very important role in order to overcome a deficit. Therefore, it is necessary to plan detailed analysis and planned system about the expenditure of the amount which is borrowed from country and local government and business income from railroad companies like government grants, PSO. This research wishes to grasp the problem and present model about reasonable and efficient financial program, analyzing about increasing import and expenses of Urban.

This paper analyze scenario of feeder wire fault that occurs in the AC feeding system considering train position. The fault location of AC feeding system is calculated by measuring impedance. However, in this way, estimation error can be occurred because of tie connection, boosting current, etc. Therefore, it's hard to find fault location, so that it is required to detailed circuit analysis according to fault location. We analyze the short circuit impedance values with respect to feeder wire fault according to a train position. In this paper, PSCAD is used for modeling and analysis of AC railway feeding system.

본 연구에서는 21세기 기술개발 방향 및 기술속성에 의해 분류된 새로운 분류법에 의한 기술체계도를 제시한다. 지금까지 배전기술개발 분류는 중장기연구개발 계획을 근거로 하여, 3개의 기술개발 분야로 분류되어 왔으나, 이 방법은 광범위한 기술개발 분야의 분류로 상호간의 중복되는 분야가 발생하거나, 새로운 기술 분야에 대한 기술 분류의 어려움이 상존해 있었다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위해, 본 연구에서는 기술의 전개방향과 속성을 기준으로 배전분야의 최종목표와 추진분야, 주요 기술개발과제(R&D과제)로 구성된 새로운 배전기술개발 체계도를 제시한다.

Since it's introduction in the late 19 century, the railway has taken an important role as people's feet and has conducted a stable management due to it's exclusive position for a long time. However, the competitions with other transportation devices such as cars and airlines are making it's previous position more or less weaker. In 1998, celebrating 100th anniversary, Korea Railway established the Customer Satisfaction Service Charter for the purpose of overcoming this competitive weakness, and as well to enhance it's service quality. The main purpose of this article is to depict and review the effectiveness of Customer Satisfaction Service Charter that has been adapted for a decade, and to suggest some effective supporting system that can make the charter to function more efficiently, and that would lead to the better realization of customer satisfaction service.

This study examined the existing issues and current status of how to best approach the establishment of railroad asset of the corporation in the long run. It also explored some preventative measures for further problems. Based on the law of state property and related railroad statutes, the research referred to basic plans for railroad management of Korea Rail Network Authority, the outcome of file research, handbook of asset management, guidelines and policy of Ministry of Finance and Economy for state property management, recommendations of the Board of Audit and Inspection and fact-finding research of state property (miscellaneous properties). The findings are making a few suggestions on the service of the Korea Rail Network Authority and Korail.

Since the beginning of civilization, people live in the times that changes rapidly everyday. Above all things, In April, 2004 the first opening of KTX(high-speed railway) that has been considered as the greatest revolutionary project shrinks the whole nation into a quarter of a day life zone and has repeated the constant change and development. But now, In comparison with ordinary train system KTX fails to notice revenue for travel-product and other many factors of increased revenue. This study introduces and analyzes the present condition of high-speed railway and indicate 'the plan to increase revenue' and 'the effect of creating revenue' through a travel-product on the basis of the travel-products connected with KTX. This study focuses on 'KTX memory train travel' and propose revenue and advertisement-effect created from targeting the middle-aged market. In addition, For improving KORAIL's image and approaching the customer more and more friendly, it grasp diverse events and advertisement plans.

This paper introduces method to estimate pollutant negative influence to polymer type insulator according to the international standard. To accomplish this goal, effective sample collecting method was surface was collected directly with the same dimension. Distilled Through this method pollute is easily and accurately collected. The second step is pollutant analysis. Several analyze item is selected such as quantity, conductivity, contact angle, Optical Microscope(OM), IR spectrometer(FT-IR), Equivalent Salt Deposit Density(ESDD), Thermal Analyzer(TA) and ICP-AES. The third step, best represent tunnel was selected considering location, length and natural surroundings. Also to consider the difference at inside the tunnel, several bracket insulators were selected along to the location. To make the result precise, above procedure was repeated several times at the same target. Finally relation among type of train, numbers of movement, surroundings, length will be considered in combination with the pollution. With this result pollute map for KORAIL could be accomplished and inspect period will be optimized case by case.

The high-speed train(KTX) was operated in domestic since 2004 and 4years have been passed since then. At the beginning most of the KTX component maintenance period was followed by the France SNCF. It was settled by the TBO(Time Between Overhauls). But the environment and operation condition are different form each other, so the TBO maintenance period can be different in some component. Therefore new TBO is necessary based on our own circumstances. This paper introduces failure analysis case on some components to set TBO in domestic. KTX-RCM(Reliability Centered Maintenance System), MICS(Maintenance Information Computer System) and KOVIS(KORAIL ERP System) Data was investigated.

The Korean railway standards (KRS), formerly managed by Korea Railroad (Korail), have been managed by the Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs (ML TM). According to Korean railway safety law and its ordinances, which were established for the guarantee of railway safety, the management of KRS including enactment and revision of technical standards for railway vehicle and components, was committed to Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI). Currently, a total of 195 standards has been managed from the various railway applications including track, electrical, and vehicle areas. Moreover, according to the guideline on the management of KRS, the conformity of KRS with international standards is encouraged for the enlargement of international trade. In this investigation, a brief management activity of KRS and the recent activities on conformity of KRS with AAR standards on automatic coupler will be introduced.
