Security Awareness among Students in Campus Environment: Case Study

  • In this era of globalization without limitation, many security issues occur, especially in a public network. Internet users significantly increased every single day. However, only some users are aware of security issues when they use Internet services. For the campus network environment, both staffs and students are susceptible to security threats such as data theft, unauthorized access and more due to different levels of awareness towards security threats. This paper is to study the level of awareness among students on security issues based on KSA model. As a case study, the survey was distributed among students in the UTeM campus network. A quantitative study was conducted, and a structured questionnaire has been designed and distributed among students. The variables were focused on three (3) aspects, which are Knowledge, Skill and Ability (KSA). The finding shows the relationship between KSA with the level of awareness among students has been revealed. From the result, Knowledge is the most significant aspect that contributes to high awareness. For the future, a study about increasing students' knowledge about security issues should be addressed.

Activation of Ontact Research Using Science & Technology Knowledge Infrastructure ScienceON

  • As data-based research activities and outcomes increase and ontact or non-face-to-face activities become common, the demand for easy utilization of resources, tools, functions, and easily accessible information required for research in the R&D sector has increased accordingly. With the rapid increase in the demand for collaborative research based on online platforms, research support institutions strive to provide venues for research activities that merge various information and functions. ScienceON, an integrated science & technology (S&T) knowledge infrastructure service developed and operated by the Korea Institute of S&T Information (KISTI), supports open collaboration by connecting and merging all the information, functions, and infrastructure required for research activities. This paper describes the online research activity support tool provided by ScienceON and the remarkable results achieved through this activity. Specifically, the excellent creation of the following flow of meta-material research activities in the ontact space is elucidated. First, the papers required for a meta-material analysis are retrieved, virtual simulation is conducted with the experimental data extracted from the papers, and research data are accumulated. ScienceON's tools for supporting ontact research activity will play a role as an important service in the era of digital transformation and open science.

페루 지배 엘리트집단의 형성과 정치화의 동인: 독립 이후 19세기를 중심으로 (The Formation of the Dominant Elite Group and the Politicization: Focus on the 19th Century after Independence in Peru)

  • This paper explains how the political elites limit peruvian politics after independence, through examining the historical origin of elites, the formation of the dominant elites and their politicization in Peru, 1824-1919. In detail, the first section of this paper examines theoretical concepts and the political economic conditions of elites. The next part explores the emergence of the dominant elite group and their politicization, which is focused on economic incentives and conditions in the Guano era. Finally, this paper suggests that peruvian elite group after independence is politically motivated by the direct control of economic resources and maximized privilege in distributions of economic benefits. Furthermore, these features provided the archetype of the Peruvian politics, such as the pre-modern oligarchy and the military intervention.

공군 KMS 활용실태 실증분석을 통한 군 조직에서의 KMS 활용에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Influencing Factors of KMS Utilization in Military Organizations by analyzing current use of KMS in Korea Air Force)

  • 디지털 경제사회는 지식 사회이기도 하다. 많은 조직들이 KMS(지식관리시스템)을 도입하였고 군도 예외가 아니다. 본 연구는 군이라는 특수한 상황에서의 KMS 활용의 활성화 방안을 도출하고자 그 영향 요인에 대해서 분석하였다. 이를 위해서 특히 공군의 KMS 실태를 조사하고 진단하여 문제점을 살펴보고 군 조직의 특성에 따른 해결방안을 모색해 보았다. 본 연구를 통해서 지식공유에 영향을 미치는 군 조직의 특성으로 군 조직 업무특성의 공식화, 조직문화상의 동료간의 신뢰, 지식공유에 대한 지휘부의 의지를 도출하였으며, 실증분석으로 지휘부가 지식공유에 대해 의지가 있다고 인식하는 사용자가 지식공유에 대한 인식도 높으며, KMS 활용도 많이 한다는 사실을 입증하였다. 이를 통해서 특히 군 조직에서는 지휘부가 솔선수범하여 지식공유에 참여하는 것이 가장 중요함을 입증하였다.

  • 지식정보사회에서 컴퓨터교육의 필요성 및 중요성은 계속 강조되고 있다. 그러나 현재의 초등학교 컴퓨터 교육은 컴퓨터활용만을 위주로 전개되고 있는 형편이다. 그러나 응용 SW의 기능 습득을 통한 기계적 사무 처리 능력 향상이나 교육용 SW의 단순한 활용 측면의 접근용 지식정보사회의 요구에 부응하기 어렵다. 그러므로 이제는 창의적이고 논리적인 사고를 바탕으로 계속적으로 변화, 발전하는 지식정보사회의 사회적, 문화적인 환경을 이해하여 새로운 가치를 창조하고 지식을 형성하기 위한 본질적인 과학으로서의 컴퓨터교육이 필요한 시기라 여겨진다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 현 컴퓨터 교육의 문제점을 토대로 초등컴퓨터교육과정 변화의 필요성을 제시하고, 지식정보사회에서의 초등학교 컴퓨터 교육과정의 변화 방향에 대한 현장 교사들의 의견을 조사하였다. 또한 현재 초등학교 컴퓨터교육과정을 ACM과 미국 노스캐롤라나주, 캘리포니아주의 초등학교 컴퓨터교육과정을 중심으로 비교 분석 하여 초등학생을 위한 컴퓨터교육과정을 제시하였다.

  • In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the importance of information protection is increasing day by day with the advent of the 'hyper-connection society', and related government financial investment is also increasing. The source of the government's fiscal investment projects is taxpayers' money. Therefore, the government needs to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of the project by comparing the public benefits created by the financial investment projects with the costs required for it. At present, preliminary feasibility study system which evaluates the feasibility of government financial investment projects in Korea has been implemented since 1994, but most of them have been actively carried out only in some fields such as large SOC projects. In this study, we discuss the feasibility evaluation of public projects for the purpose of information security. we introduce the case study of the personal information protection program of Korean public institutions and propose a cost-effectiveness analysis method that can be applied to the feasibility study of the information protection field. Finally, we presented the feasibility study and criteria applicable in the field of information security.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve ubiquitous fashion design which adolescents can be satisfied with. The methods of this study are documentary research of previous studies, survey research and deep interviews. For this study 371 students are selected as samples of survey. As a result of this study, we could know that the adolescents of the 21st century are enjoying actively the culture of consumers and the culture of information era. Domestic adolescents have much knowledge and interest in information and in UFC fashion products. So we can predict that domestic adolescents' interest and desire of UFC fashion products will increase gradually. As for using occasions, adolescents will use UFC fashion products for 'mobile', 'exercise', 'social followship', and as for using purposes, they will use UFC fashion products for 'listening to music', 'playing games', 'communication', 'search for information', etc. So when we develop UFC fashion products for adolescents, we'd rather develop the products for entertainment than for studying. To satisfy the various tastes of adolescents, UFC fashion products must also consider the design factors like styles, colors, materials, etc. In conclusion all UFC fashion products for adolescents must have not only the basic qualities like functions and conveniences, but also the qualities of designs.

  • As the world enters the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is represented by advanced technology, it not only changes the industrial field but also the education field. In recent years, Smart Learning has enriched learning by using diverse forms and technologies that utilize vast amount of information about learners' individual knowledge through the emergence of realistic and intelligent contents that combine high technology such as artificial intelligence, big data and virtual reality and there is an increasing interest in intelligent adaptive learning, which can customize individual education. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore intelligent adaptive learning method through recent smart education environment, beyond traditional writing-based communication education which is highly dependent on the competency of instructors. In this study, we analyzed the various learner information collected in the communication course and constructed a concrete teaching and learning method of intelligent adaptive learning based on the instructor's intended smart contents. The result of this study is expected to be the basis of highly personalized teaching and learning method of digital method in communication education which is emphasized in the fourth industrial revolution era.

  • 오늘날과 같은 현대사회를 융합의 시대라고 할 수 있다. 이동통신 단말기 산업계는 모바일 컨버전스 시대로 급격히 변화되고 있다. 최근 우리나라의 경우 스마트폰 이용자는 급격하게 늘어나고 있으며 지식정보화 사회로 가속화 될수록 스마트폰의 새로운 역할과 가치가 증대되어 생활 전반에 미치는 영향은 더욱 커질 것으로 판단된다. 이러한 컨버전스는 스마트폰에서 새로운 가치 창출을 제공한다. 스마트폰을 이용하여 생활가전 기기를 조작할 수 있는 기능을 제안하고자 한다.

  • This paper is to analyse the major impact of the new era of information technology on the changes being made in physical environment of existing corporate training centers through the case of on- and off-line LG academies. By the analysis, some interesting features are to be found which can be a hint for the future planning and design of corporate training centers. Unlike the expectation in the early stage of changes, the rapid growth of on-line education forms a very strong partnership with the existing in-house training programs at all levels. Understanding of such key issues surrounding the use of facilities is specific to the formation of an effective environment for training programmes. After all aspects of the facility uses-not just the class rooms, but also the residential, dining, recreational, and support areas, as well as on-line type of educational services-are carefully examined, a design guideline is identified as considerations for guestrooms, classrooms, public facilities, the recreational areas, and the audio-visual provisions.
