This study investigated the effects of variations in the kinetic structure on science knowledge acquisition. According to the rationale of the kinetic structure theory, a communication having high structrue would facilitate greater knowledge acquisition than a presentation with low structure. To testify that hypothesis, a modified non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design was used. Four 10th grade classes (2 classes for each sex) were selected. On the topic of human digestive system, two tape recorded lessons differing in kinetic structure were developed. On n of two was high structure ($\bar{B}_{1}$=0.56), and the other was low structrue ($\bar{B}_{1}$=0.99) Results indicated that the high structure lesson did not show significantly higher score than the low structrue lesson(F=2.225, P<0.137). But when the data were analyzed by sex, only boy students showed the result that the high structure lesson had significantly higher score than the low structure lesson (F=4.785, P<0.009). The results of this study suggest that a high Structure communication will facilitate the science achievement in the case of boy students.

Kinetic behaviors of homoepitaxial growth on Ni(110) surface was studied at the growth-temperature ranges 290~380 K with scanning tunneling microscopy. At low temperature (~290 K), deposited Ni grows layer-by-layer mode in the first several layers with one-dimensional islands but eventually (at > monolayers) forms three-dimensional islands througy the kinetic shortening of the average length of one-dimensional islands. At the intermediat temperature (~340 K), the three-dimensional islands were observed to be I) regular mesa-like structure with high aspect ratio (~1:10) at ~15 monolayer, ii) hut-like structure with low aspect ratio (~1:1.5) at ~35 monolayer, and iii) rounded mound structure at ~55 monolayers, due to the competition of kinetic and energetic terms. At the high temperature (~ 380 K), the flat surface with layer-by-layer mode was observed up to 50 monolayers. Microscopic orgins for the observations will be discussed on the basis of kinetic Monte Carlo simulations.
Carbon nanotube (CNT) aluminum composite coatings were built up through kinetic spraying process. Deposition behavior of CNT aluminum composite on an aluminum 1050 alloy substrate was analyzed based on deposition mechanism of kinetic spraying. The microstructure of CNT aluminum composite coating were observed and analyzed. Also, the electrical resistivity, bond strength and micro-hardness of the CNT aluminum composite coatings were measured and compared to kinetic sprayed aluminum coatings. The CNT aluminum composite coatings have a dense structure with low porosity. Compared to kinetic sprayed aluminum coating, the CNT aluminum composite coatings present lower electrical resistivity and higher micro-hardness due to high electrical conductivity and dispersion hardening effects of CNTs.

The kinetic structure of the content of instructions at the unit of 'heart and circulation' in "the common science", which was respectively given by two teachers majored in biology and two teachers majored in earth science was investigated. Concerning of the mean of the fundamental coefficient (B1), the mean of weighted coefficients (B2) and the progression of instruction (P), T4 (B1, 0.14; B2, 0.82; P; 0.86) teacher showed relatively lower kinetic structure and faster progression than those of the others. The other teachers showed a different level of the kinetic structure and progression: T1(B1, 0.21; B2, 0.86; P; 0.79), T2 (B1, 0.02; B2, 0.85; P; 0.80), and T3 (B1, 0.22; B2, 0.83; P; 0.78). T1 teacher who showed the largest total frequency of verbal elements, the great number of sorts of verbal elements and secondary span, had a higher level of the kinetic structure, but T4 teacher showed the lowest level of total frequency of verbal elements, the great number of sorts of verbal elements and secondary span. The main reason why T4 teacher's instruction achieved a lower level of kinetic structure was estimated that he neglected to reorganize teaching materials and he showed a small number of discourse units. In addition, the unit of 'heart and circulation' was less related to T4 teacher's major and T4 teacher had a shorter teaching experience than those of the others. T4 teacher also took charge of only one class, and this did not allow to instruct repeatedly.
To automate cooking processes, quantitative descriptions are needed on how quality parameters, such as texture change during heating. Understanding mechanical property changes in foods during thermal treatment due to changes in chemical composition or physical structure is important in the context of engineering models and in precise control of quality in general. Texture degradation of food materials has been studied widely and softening kinetic parameters have been reported in many studies. For a better understanding of kinetic parameters, applied kinetic models were investigated, then rate constants at $100^{\circ}C$ and activation energy from previous kinetic studies were compared. The food materials are hardly classified into similar softening kinetics. The range of parameters is wide regardless of food types due to the complexity of food material, different testing methods, sample size, and geometry. Kinetic parameters are essential for optimal process design. For broad and reliable applications, kinetic parameters should be generated by a more consistent manner so that those of foods could be compared or grouped.
Purpose: This paper aims to analyse the composition system of architectural elements including shape, kinetic and material elements of kinetic facades and establish the design parameter system as a common conceptual and practical knowledge sharing platform with mechanical and electrical experts. Method: This research has been conducted in a three steps. At first, 120 cases of external shading devices are analyzed and their classification criteria have been established. Secondly geometric, kinetic and material elements are categorized in a common kinetic facade coordinates system considering environmental effects and operation method, and the applicability of combination of each element are tested. Lastly core design parameters for each element have been established in a common office building installation coordinate. Result: Geometry elements are categorized into seven geometric shapes and kinetic elements is categorized into basic linear and rotational motion and combinational folding and rolling motion. The combined set of parameters for three elements composes the whole design parameters for architectural elements of kinetic façade. Design parameters of shape elements are composed of shape, installation and arrangement parameters; design parameters for kinetic elements are composed of axis and range parameters; and design parameters of material elements are composed of thermal, lighting and color parameters.
Kinetic typography is technology such as color, scale, position of the letter changes dynamically with time and it communicates information with aesthetics and originality. The purpose of this study is to identify the design factors in the formativeness of Hangul and present and implement the interaction design method of unique Hangul kinetic typography based on the scientific structure of Hangul. We implemented the Hangul kinetic typography system, which varies in sizes and motion directions according to a viewer's movement and exhibited in a media art event. To do this, we used a viewer's skeleton information on typography synchronization. The results indicated that Hangul kinetic typography has potential not only as a means to communicate with viewers but also as a medium to show the artistic value of Hangul.
In this study, the laminar burning velocity of syngas fuel($H_2/CO$) and flame structure with various hydrogen contents were studied using both experimental measurements and detailed kinetic analysis. The laminar burning velocities were measured by the angle method of Bunsen flame configuration and the numerical calculations including chemical kinetic analysis were made using CHEMKIN Package with USC-Mech II. A wide range of syngas mixture compositions such as $H_2$ : CO = 10 : 90, 25 : 75, 50 : 50, 75:25 and equivalence ratios from lean condition of 0.5 to rich condition of 5.0 have been considered. The experimental results of burning velocity were in good agreement with previous other research data and numerical simulation. Also, it was shown that the experimental measurements of laminar burning velocity linearly increased with the increment of $H_2$ content although the burning velocity of hydrogen is faster than the carbon monoxide above 10 times. This phenomenon is attributed to the rapid production of hydrogen related radicals such as H radical at the early stage of combustion, which is confirmed the linear increase of radical concentrations on kinetic analysis. Particular concerns in this study are the characteristics of burning velocity and flame structure different from lean condition for rich condition. The decrease of OH radicals and double peaks are observed with $H_2$ content in rich condition once $H_2$ fraction exceeds over threshold.

The kinetic energy during ship collision with bridge piers is released as the permanent deformations of structure and friction between the impact surfaces. So the ship collision energy is estimated from the equations of motions for ship-pier collisions which include the influence of the surrounding water, different impact angles and impact locations. The normal impact energy and tangent impact energy at a collision location and angle can be transformed into the normal impact force and friction force acting on the structure. Also the kinetic energy after collisions is calculated from the linear and angular impulse of ship collisions. The collision energy absorption system such as the protective structures for bridges is designed by evaluating the damage portions of ship and structure during the ship-structure collisions varying from the soft impact to hard impact and then the estimation of it will be suited for the design of protective measures.
