국산 소나무재 건조스케줄 개량에 관한 연구 (Improvement of Drying Schedule for Domestic Red Pine Lumber)

  • 두께 50 mm 국산 소나무(Pinus densiflora Sieb. et Zucc.) 판재의 건조스케줄 개량을 위해 일반 열기 건조스케줄, 시간 기준 건조스케줄, 연속 온도상승 건조스케줄, 그리고 습구온도 조절 건조스케줄을 적용하여 최종함수율 15% 정도까지 건조한 후 각각의 건조스케줄 적용에 의한 건조특성을 비교분석하였다. 두께 50 mm 국산 소나무의 일반 열기 건조스케줄 적용실험 결과 건조속도는 0.53%/hr, 시간 기준 건조스케줄 적용에 의한 건조속도는 0.9%/hr, 그리고 연속 온도상승 건조스케줄 적용에 의한 건조속도는 2.29%/hr였으며, 습구온도 조절 건조스케줄 적용에 의한 건조속도는 1.52%/hr였다.

로타리 킬른형 건조로 열유동 해석에 관한 연구 (Study on CFD Analysis of Dying Plant with Rotary Kiln Type for Eco-Industrial Park)

  • This paper presents the numerical analysis of process of sludge drying to know the characteristics of design parameters and develop the new process plant. Finite volume method and $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model were used to analogy the sludge drying furnace. It has been attempted to perform the disposal of sewage sludge such as simple reclaiming and dumping in sea and incineration. Currently, these methods are restricted by national or international government regulations. The drying process is adopted as an effective method for sewage sludge treatment. However sewage sludge makes it difficult to treat with a large volume at the real drying process plant because of its own complicated physical, chemical, and thermal properties. The final design value of moisture content with 10% of the dried sludge can be obtained through the simulated outputs in this study.

Iroko재(材)의 고주파진공건조성 및 물리적 성질 개선 (Improvement of a radio-frequency/vacuum drying ability and physical properties of Iroko Lumber)

  • This study was carried out to investigate a radio-frequency/vacuum (RF/V) drying ability and physical properties of the green boards and the pre-kiln dried boards with 40 mm thickness, and the 70 mm-thick green board of Iroko (Milicia excelsa). The major results were summarized as follows; The drying time from initial moisture content (MC) of 110% to approximate 6% MC for a 40mm-thick green board was 192 hours, and about 200 hours for the 70 mm-thick green board, respectively and so the RF/V drying times were dramatically shortened compared to conventional kiln drying time. The case hardenings at the RF/V drying completion stage test were very negligible, thus represented almost no existence of the residual stress. The checks were very slightly formed on all of the boards during the RF/V drying test, but crook appeared quite severely. During the accelerating test, the water-resistant treated specimens had not experienced any signs of checking occurred, whereas the control boards had encountered very frequent occurrences of end checking and slight surface checking. There were no observations of warping and discoloring regardless of the treatment.

미송(美松)의 열기건조(熱氣乾燥)스케쥴 개선(改善)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Study on Kiln-Schedule Modification for Douglas Fir)

  • For the modification of kiln drying schedule, relations between resistance to drying Rd and the moisture content or drying times were found for 4/4, 6/4 and 8/4 green Douglas fir heartwood by the mild drying schedule and the severe drying schedule until the average moisture content was about 10 percent. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Resistance to drying of thicker lumber was higher than that of thinner lumber and resistance to drying of three different thicknesses were negligible between the mild-and the severe drying schedule. The relationships between resistance to drying and two schedules or three thicknesses of lumber were $Rd_1=1.830{\times}10^5\;M^{-2.24}$ for 4/4 lumber by the mild drying schedule, $Rd_2=1.822{\times}10^5\;M^{-2.25}$ for 4/4 lumber by the severe drying schedule, $Rd_3=2.352{\times}10^5\;M^{-2.14}$ for 6/4 lumber by the mild drying schedule, $Rd_4=3.457{\times}10^5\;M^{-2.27}$ for 6/4 lumber by the severe drying schedule, $Rd_5=1.317{\times}10^6\;M^{-2.56}$ for 8/4 lumber by the mild drying schedule, $Rd_6=8.267{\times}10^5\;M^{-2.40}$ for 8/4 lumber by the severe drying schedule. 2. Thinner lumber exhibited lower level of moisture content and shorter drying time required at intersection point between the moisture content and resistance to drying as a function of drying time than those of thicker lumber. Drying time of mild drying was longer than that of severe drying and similar to the level of moisture content at intersection point.

Predicting Final Moisture Contents of Kiln-dried Western Hemlock Boards I: Distribution of Moisture Contents along the Length

  • This study was conducted to find the relationship between the moisture content and basic density of green lumber and the final moisture content of kiln dried lumber. The possibility of using a ultrasonic nondestructive testing technology was investigated. Four matched 2-foot long boards were kiln-dried for 12, 24, 36 and 48 hours. Twenty three slices were cut to examine the distribution of moisture content along the length. It was revealed that the green weight was a better estimator of the final moisture content of the kiln-dried board than the green moisture content. The standard deviations of the moisture contents of the slices were not correlated with the final moisture contents of the kiln-dried boards. The two ultrasonic devices used for this study were apparently good tools for NDT.

침엽수재(針葉樹材)의 수분확산(水分擴散)모델을 이용(利用)한 소나무판재(板材)와 평소각재(平小角材)의 열기건조(熱氣乾燥) 시간(時間)과 함수율(含水率) 추정(推定)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Studies on Predicting the Kiln Drying Time and Moisture Content of Board and Dimension Lumber of Pinus densiflora using an Internal Moisture Diffusion Model of Softwood)

  • This experiment was carried out to know the mothod of changing the step of moisture content schedule with time in conventional kiln drying. For the purpose of this object. we made drying model by applying the moisture diffusion model by J.FSiau(1984) to average moisture content equation by J.Crank(1956) derived it from Fick's second law. And to verify this method of drying model. 2.5cm-thick boards and 5.0cm-thick dimension lumbers of Pinus densiflora were kiln-dried with the schedule of T11-C3 and T10-C4, respectively. And then the drying rates were investigated and compared with those calculated from drying model. The results obtained were as follows 1. Average drying rate and total drying time of board to dry to 6.5% moisture content were 0.64%/hr and 109hr., and those of dimension lumber to dry to 8.3% moisture content were 0.4%/hr. and 162hr., respectively. 2. The moisture content of shell and core decreased by equalizing treatment and increased by conditioning treatment both on board and dimension lumber. But the moisture gradient was lower after conditioning than after equalizing. 3. As the drying was proceeded, the transverse bound water diffusion coefficient all but linearly decreased, the water vapor diffusion coefficient abruptly curvilinearly increased, while the transverse diffusion coefficient curvilinearly decreased both on board and dimension lumber. But each of diffusion coefficients on board was larger than that on dimension lumber. 4. Compared to experimential drying rate of board. theoretical drying rate was larger at 30.0%-21.8% moisture content range and was similiar at 21.8%-5.4% moisture content. And in case of dimension lumber, the drying rate was similiar at 30.0%-16.1% moisture content range but theoretical drying rate was much lower at 16.1%-8.3% moisture content range. 5. The possibility of adapting this drying model to changing the moisture content schedule step with time was in the range of 21.8%-5.4% moisture content on board. And in the case of dimension lumber that was in the range of 30.0%-16.1% moisture content.

큰 정각재의 가열판과 고주파 진공건조간 건조특성의 비교 (Comparison of Drying Characteristics of Square Timber by Heated Platen and Radio-frequency/Vacuum Drying)

  • 변장 14.0 cm와 16.5 cm인 소나무 정각재의 가열판진공건조와 고주파진공건조간의 건조속도, 함수율분포와 비(比)에너지를 비교하였다. 고주파진공건조는 가열판진공건조보다 건조속도 및 변장이 건조속도에 미치는 영향이 컸었다. 가열판진공건조 목재의 재장방향, 두께방향과 폭방향의 함수율분포는 볼록 형태를 나타내었고, 고주파진공건조 목재는 오목 형태를 나타내었다. 가열판진공건조 목재의 폭방향과 두께방향간의 수분경사는 유사하였으나 고주파진공건조 목재의 경우는 폭방향의 수분경사가 두께방향보다 완만하였다. 가열판진공건조와 고주파 진공건조의 비(比)에너지곡선은 함수율이 감소할수록 증가하는 경향을 나타내었고, 가열판진공건조의 비(比)는 고주파진공건조보다 컸었다.

구조용(構造用) 내화처리(耐火處理) 합판(合板)의 재건조(再乾燥)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Redrying Fire - Retardant - Treated Structural Plywood)

  • 미송(美松) 및 포푸라 내수합판(耐水合板)을 내장용내화제(內裝用耐火劑)로 가압처리한 다음 저온(低溫), 중온(中溫) 및 고온건조상태(高溫乾燥狀態)에서 재건조(再乾燥)를 실시(實施)하였다. 붕사(硼砂)-붕산(硼酸), 크롬화(化) 염화아연, 미나리스, 파이레소오트 및 일종(一種)의 상업용(商業用) 내화제(耐火劑)로 내화처리(耐火處理)를 실시(實施)하였다. 건조방법(乾燥方法)은 키른건조(乾燥)와 열판건조(熱板乾燥)를 적용(適用)하였으며 건조속도(乾燥速度)와 건조결함(乾燥缺陷)에 관하여 검토(檢討)하였다. 붕사(硼砂)-붕산(硼酸)은 수분처리합판(水分處理合板)과 유사(類似)한 건조속도(乾燥速度)를 나타내었으나 기타(其他)의 내화제(耐火劑)는 일층(一層) 늦은 건조속도(乾燥速度)를 나타내었고 더 많은 건조결함(乾燥缺陷)을 일으키는 경향(傾向)이 있었다. 특(特)히 크롬화(化) 염화아연은 가장 건조속도(乾燥速度)가 느렸으며 가장 많은 건조결함(乾燥缺陷)을 일으키는 경향(傾向)이 있었다. 열판건조(熱板乾燥)는 키른 건조(乾燥)와 비교(比較)하여 같은 온도수준(溫度水準)에서 삼배(三倍)나 더 빨리 건조(乾燥)하였으나 열판압력을 50 $1b/in^2$(3.52$kg/cm^2$)를 적용(適用)하였기 때문에 두께 수축율(收縮率)은 이배(二倍)를 나타내었다.

굴참나무 판재와 원판의 천연건조와 열기건조 (Air-and Kiln-Drying the Boards and Disk of Quercus variabilis)

  • 참나무는 소나무와 함께 우리나라의 대표적 수종이나 아름다운 목리에도 불구하고 건조가 어려워 다양하게 사용되지 못하였다. 본 연구를 통해 굴참나무 판재와 원판의 효율적 건조방법을 찾고자 노력하였다. 먼저 마구리 도포제 효과를 조사한 결과 4가지 마구리 도포제 중 PVAc 접착제를 두껍게 도포한 것이 가장 좋은 효과를 나타냈다. 천연건조속도는 1.2%MC/일로 미농무성(USDA)의 안전건조속도(safe drying rate) 1-3%MC/일을 초과하지 않았다. 본 연구에 사용된 USDA의 참나무 열기건조 스케쥴은 천연건조된 국산굴참나무재를 내부 할열없이 함수율 8%까지 건조하는데 효과적이었다. pallet형 잔목을 사용하여 참나무 원판의 V-크랙을 막고자 하였으나 성공하지 못했다. 그러나 일반 잔목 건조에 비해 V-크랙의 갈라진 면이 깨끗했으며 다른 할열은 거의 발생하지 않았다.

저압증기폭쇄(低壓蒸氣爆碎)처리가 고온영역(高溫領域)하에서의 목재(木材) 수지삼출(樹脂渗出) 예방에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Low Pressure Steam Explosion Treatment on Prevention of Resin Exudation from Wood under High Temperature Surroundings)

  • 본 과제는 Spruce재가 사우나와 같은 고온 공간용 부재(部材)로 사용되어질 때 나타나는 수지삼출의 문제점을 해결하여 그 방안을 제시코저 수행하였다. 건식(乾式)공간용 부재(部材)의 경우 적절한 열기건조가 이루어진다면 별도의 처리를 실시하지 않더라도 110℃의 수지삼출 안정선을 얻을 수 있는 것으로 확인되었으며, 고주파진공건조에 의해 수지삼출 안정선이 열기건조보다 약 20℃ 정도 더 상승하였다. 습식(濕式)폭로시험에서는 저압증기폭쇄처리재의 경우 열기건조재나 고주파진공건조재 모두 수지가 전혀 삼출되지 않은 반면에, 무처리재의 경우 건조방법에 관계없이 130℃ 이상의 폭로조건에서는 수지삼출의 정도가 건식(乾式)폭로시험의 경우보다 심한 것으로 나타나, 수지삼출을 예방하기 위하여 인공건조중 저(低)함수율 상태의 건조말기에 고온(高溫)을 적용하여 건조하는 것보다는 건조전 고(高)함수율 상태에서 과열(過熱)증기로 분무(噴霧)처리하는 것이 더 바람직한 것으로 확인되었다.
