In this paper, major species of tree were discriminated in compartment by using LiDAR data and optic imagery. This is an important work in forest field. A current digital stock map has created the aerial photo and collecting survey data. Unlike high resolution imagery, LiDAR data is not influenced by topographic effects since it is an active sensory system. LiDAR system can measure three dimension information of individual tree. And the main methods of this study were to extract reliable the individual tree and analysis techniques to facilitate the used LiDAR data for calculating tree crown 2D parameter. We should estimate the forest inventory for calculating parameter. 2D parameter has need of area, perimeter, diameter, height, crown shape, etc. Eventually, major species of tree were determined the tree parameters, compared a digital stock map.

Vegetation carbon sequestration and regeneration are the two major parameters of forest research. In this study, we analyzed the vegetation carbon stock and regeneration of community-managed pine plantation of Kathmandu, central Nepal. Vegetation data were collected from 40 circular plots of 10 m radius (for the tree) and 1m radius (for seedling) applying a stratified random sampling and nested quadrat method. The carbon stock was estimated by Chave allometric model and estimated carbon stock was converted into CO2 equivalents. Density-diameter (d-d) curve was also prepared to check the regeneration status and stability of the plantation. A d-d curve indicates the good regeneration status of the forest with a stable population in each size class. Diversity of trees was very low, only two tree species Pinus roxburghii and Eucalyptus citriodora occurred in the sample plots. Pine was the dominant tree in terms of density, basal area, biomass, carbon stock and CO2 stock than the eucalyptus. The basal area, carbon stock and CO2 stock of forest was 33±1.0 ㎡ ha-1, 108±5.0 Mg ha-1 and 394±18 Mg ha-1, respectively. Seedling and tree density of the plantation was 4,965 ha-1 and 339 ha-1 respectively. The forest carbon stock showed a positive relationship with biomass, tree diameter, height and basal area but no relationship with tree density. Canopy cover and tree diameter have a negative effect on seedling density and regeneration. In conclusion, the community forest has a stable population in each size class, sequestering a significant amount of carbon and CO2 emitted from densely populated Kathmandu metro city as the forest biomass hence have a potentiality to mitigate the global climate change.
Government spending on research and development increased continuously is much more important to decision-making methodology for rational investment. Rely on a group of minority experts in the application of a general methodology, a tipping effect occur in specific technology field or difficult balanced procedure and objective control to maintain. This paper presents a qualitative-quantitative methodology to avoid such risks by utilizing Technology-Tree pertaining to energy R&D planning of the government Energy Technology Development program. Especially Energy Technology Development program "energy storage system" is applied to the analysis of Technology-Tree, mapping and analysis of existing government-supported projects during the recent 5 years, is derived essential missing elements of the technology value chain. This study suggests that significant evidence is utilized for improving efficiency of government R&D budget considering the importance of technology, domestic research-based and so forth, could be used to implement the R&D project planning.

Numerous genes of Escherichia coli have been shown to growth phase-dependent expression throughout growth. The global patterns of growth phase-dependent gene expression of E. coli throughout growth using oligonucleotide microarrays containing a nearly complete set of 4,289 annotated open reading frames. To determine the change of gene expression throughout growth, we compared RNAs taken from timecourses with common reference RNA, which is combined with equal amount of RNA pooled from each time point. The hierarchical clustering of the conditions in accordance with timecourse expression revealed that growth phases were clustered into four classes, consistent with known physiological growth status. We analyzed the differences of expression levels at genome level in both exponential and stationary growth phase cultures. Statistical analysis showed that 213 genes are shown to, growth phase-dependent expression. We also analyzed the expression of 256 known operons and 208 regulatory genes. To assess the global impact of RpoS, we identified 193 genes coregulated with rpoS and their expression levels were examined in the isogenic rpoS mutant. The results revealed that 99 of 193 were novel RpoS-dependent stationary phase-induced genes and the majority of those are functionally unknown. Our data provide that global changes and adjustments of gene expression are coordinately regulated by growth transition in E. coli.
This paper focuses on lossy medical image compression methods for medical images that operate on three-dimensional(3-D) irreversible integer wavelet transform. We offer an application of unbalanced tree structure algorithm to medical images, using a 3-D unbalanced wavelet decomposition and a 3-D unbalanced spatial dependence tree. The wavelet decomposition is accomplished with integer wavelet filters implemented with the lifting method. We have tested our encoder on volumetric medical images using different integer filters and coding unit sizes. The coding unit sizes of 16 slices save considerable dynamic memory(RAM) and coding delay from full sequence coding units used in previous works. If we allow the formation of trees of different lengths, then we can accomodate more transaxial scales than three. The encoder and decoder can then keep track of the length of the tree in which each pixel resides through the sequence of decompositions. Results show that, even with these small coding units, our algorithm with certain filters performs as well and better in lossy coding than previous coding systems using 3-D integer unbalanced wavelet transforms on volumetric medical images.
In order to investigate the effect of electrolyte solutions on the activities of bow-tie water trees in XLPE insulated power cable, we have tried to observe the characteristics on water treeing ( bow-tie type ) using several electrolyte solutions such as $CH_3COOH$, $MgCl_2$,HCl and NaCl solution and tap water. Bow-tie tree density in $CH_3COOH$ and $MgCl_2$ solution was higher than in any other solution, and the growth of tree was stimulated in NaCl and $CH_3COOH$ solution, and diffusion of bow-tie trees into insulation in $MgCl_2$, HCl and NaCl solutions was faster than in $CH_3COOH$ solution and water. Also, although the increase of applied voltage caused bow-tie tree density to be high, it didn't affect the growth of tree maximum length noticeably.
In this paper, we derived an efficient indexing scheme, SJ tree, which handles multi-attribute data and spatial join operations efficiently. In addition, a number of algorithms for manipulating multi-attribute data are given , together with their computational and I/O complexity . Moreover , we how that SJ tree is a kind of generalized B-tree. This means that SJ-tree can be easily implemented on existing built-in B-tree in most storage managers in the sense that the structure of SJ tree is like that of B-tree. The spatial join operation with spatial output is benchmarked using R-tree, B-tree, K-D-B tree, and SJ tree. Results from the benchmark test indicate that SJ tree out performance other indexing schemes on spatial join with point data.
R&D is a foundation for new business chance and productivity improvement leading to enormous expense and a long-term multi-step process. During the R&D process, decision-makers are confused due to the various future uncertainties that influence economic and technical success of the R&D projects. For these reasons, several decision-making models for R&D project investment have been suggested; they are based on traditional methods such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Decision Tree Analysis (DTA) and Real Option Analysis (ROA) or some fusion forms of the traditional methods. However, almost of the models have constraints in practical use owing to limits on application, procedural complexity and incomplete reflection of the uncertainties. In this study, to make the constraints minimized, we propose a new model named Real Option Decision Tree Model which is a conceptual combination form of ROA and DTA. With this model, it is possible for the decision-makers to simulate the project value applying the uncertainties onto the decision making nodes.
Two-dimensional (2-D) X-ray computerized tomography (CT) equipments are widely used in industrial and medical fields, and nowadays studies on reconstruction algorithm for 3-D cone-beam acquisition systems are active for better utilization. The authors recent-By have proposed a fast reconstruction aigorithm using tree-structured filter bank for 2-D C1, and shown the algorithm is applicable to an approximate reconstruction of 3-D CT. For exact 3-D CT reconstruction, however, we have to backproject 1-D signal into 3-D space. This paper proposes a fast implementation method for this back-projection by use of tree-structured filter bank. and shows the proposed method works approximately 700 times faster than the direct one with almost same reconstruction image quality.

The degree-constrained minimum spanning tree (d-MST) problem is considered NP-complete for no exact solution-yielding polynomial algorithm has been proposed to. One thus has to resort to an heuristic approximate algorithm to obtain an optimal solution to this problem. This paper therefore presents a polynomial time algorithm which obtains an intial solution to the d-MST with the help of Kruskal's algorithm and performs k-opt on the initial solution obtained so as to derive the final optimal solution. When tested on 4 graphs, the algorithm has successfully obtained the optimal solutions.
