It has regarded an attempt to design and construct more safe structures as challenges such as fate. In order to operate public facilities safely, It can be taken how to improve the resistance to applied load by increasing the cross-section of structural members or by installing reinforcement. But inevitably such a way is accompanied by an increase of construction cost or maintenance cost. To make a cost-effective construction, Reliability-based decision analysis which can judge the adequacy of investment is suggested using statistical data of the load, resistance and the maintenance cost.

Grinding process takes a long time that grinding machine is setted properly. It is difficult for user to judge correctly the abnormal states generated in grinding process. Air grinding has to be reduced for the improvement of productivity. In addition, it is important to monitor the dressing and the grinding process so that the grinding working maintains optimal grinding conditions. In this study, the monitoring system using the acoustic emission is developed to monitor these processes continuously. This system was able to reduce the preparation as well as the machine setting time in grinding operation.

This paper proposes a method of fault diagnostics on switching mode power supply. When the error of switching mode power supply cannot be found when the conventional diagnostics is performed, this proposed method first performs diagnosis on the switching mode power supply strictly to judge the operating condition. This method analyzes the PWM wave which depends on the load change, to make sure the feedback control of the power supply to diagnosis the operation of the power supply system.

Human support systems, such as computers and robots, are required to be changed to a machine equipment independently operates and communicate with human, rather than non-sensitivity and obedient machine equipment Therefore, we notice nonverbal language that human recognizes naturally. While Korea does not have any legal statement on surrogacy, treatments are carried out in practice. As a result, every Institutional Review Board (IRB) of each fertility clinic faces an ethical predicament in reviewing each case. There is a need to arrange the institutions' own standards of surrogate pregnancy procedures before the establishment of national or professional regulation. This article examines the legal, social, and medical issues of surrogacy to help IRBs to judge their cases.

In this paper, we describe the implementation of a monitoring and diagnostic system for GIS. This system monitors operation status of GIS and transmits data from GIS to host. With this system, an operator can monitor an operating condition and judge the aging of each device, and prevent the failure or breakdown in advance.

This paper provides a framework for evaluating business information systems. The framework identifies three evaluation domains: IS business value, IS expenses, and IS functionality. Discussions of each category encompass what to be measured, how to measure, and how to judge the measured value. Then, the framework classifies three categories of individual information systems based on IS life cycle: industry-common, industry-similar, and firm-specific. This categorization is used to match the role of an individual system with the focus of evaluation efforts. The framework can contribute to the systematic design of evaluation programs for business information systems.

The stability of system is one of the important aspects and to judge system's stability is another complicated problem. Previously, new technique derived from relaxing Lyapunov conditions has been already introduced and in this paper, this proposed technique applies to the practical dynamic systems. This utility of numerical procedures prove the comparable improvements of the estimation of robustness for dynamic systems having structured (bounded) perturbations.

Precursor analysis is widely used in the nuclear industry to judge the significance of events relevant to safety. However, in case of events that may damage equipment through effects that are not ordinary functional dependencies, the analysis may not always fully appreciate the potential for further evolution of the event. For fires, which are one class of such events, this paper discusses modelling challenges that need to be overcome when performing a probabilistic precursor analysis. The events used to analyze are selected from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Fire Incidents Records Exchange (FIRE) Database.
