해양구조물의 K-Joint 피로연구 (Fatigue Study of K-Joints for Offshore Structures)

  • The paper describes a test program on welded K-joints fabricated from circular hollow section brace members and chords made with API 2W 50 grade steel produced by POSCO. The K-joints were tested for three loading conditions at RIST. The specimens were tested in reaction frame that allowed vertical uniform loading to the structure. From the test, the crack initiation and development were observed and the fatigue failure could be predicted. The results were also compared with the provided S-N curves by DnV.

QUALITY STABILIZATION OF BALL SEAT IN AUTOMOTIVE SUSPENSION PARTS

  • Recently, many solution have been suggested to development of plastic products. Among many manufacturing technologies for plastic parts, the injection molding process is very attractive because of its low production cost and short cycle time. In this paper, the plastic ball seat of a ball joint, one of the essential components for automotive suspension or steering system, was studied to enhance its mechanical performance and durability by using PA66 that is reinforced polymeric plastic resin. But ball seat has some trouble in manufacture process. And strength of molded part is not enough to use. For the quality stabilization and reliability of injection molded parts, we designed the mold cavities through analytical simulation software and tested the mechanical performance for the injection molded ball-seat parts. After modification, tensile strength increases by about $13.5\%$. Strength and quality stabilization is improved.

  • A formulation is proposed for modelling the process of intra-granular diffusion of fission gas during irradiation of $UO_2$ under both normal operating conditions and power transients. The concept represents a simple extension of the formulation of Speight, including an estimation of the contribution of bubble motion to fission gas diffusion. The resulting equation is formally identical to the diffusion equation adopted in most models that are based on the formulation of Speight, therefore retaining the advantages in terms of simplicity of the mathematical-numerical treatment and allowing application in integral fuel performance codes. The development of the new model proposed here relies on results obtained by means of molecular dynamics simulations as well as finite element computations. The formulation is proposed for incorporation in the TRANSURANUS fuel performance code.

  • 다관절 로봇 교육 효과의 향상을 위해서는 제어 소프트웨어를 통해 로봇의 동작을 쉽게 개발할 수 있어야 한다. 기존의 다관절 로봇 개발기법은 매우 복잡한 구현을 교육해야하지만, 우리의 도구는 로봇의 동작을 쉽게 하여 제어나 움직임에 대한 창의적인 활동을 가능하게 한다. 본 논문에서 교육용 다관절 로봇의 동작 제어를 쉽고 빠르게 프로그램화하기 위해서, 모션 생성 도구를 개발하였다. 우리는 도구를 통해 정확하고 쉽게 프로그램을 교육하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 모션 생성 도구는 기존의 복잡한 언어 제어 프로그램 방식을 탈피하였을 뿐만 아니라 사용자 편의성 중심이라는 GUI(Graphic User Interface) 방식보다도 쉽게 로봇 제어를 할 수 있었다. 또한 편리한 로봇 동작 구현은 물론 교육적으로 활용되는 마이크로프로세서 실험 장치에서도 적용이 가능하다.

조선 및 해양플랜트 구조물의 불안전 파괴방지 설계기술 (Design for avoid unstable fracture in shipbuilding and offshore plant structure)

  • Recently, there have been the increase of ship size and the development of oil and gas in arctic region. These trends have led to the requirements such as high strength, good toughness at low temperature and good weldability for prevent of brittle fracture at service temperature. There has been the key issue of crack arrestability in large size structure such as container ship. In this report for the first time, crack arrest toughness of thick steel plate welds was evaluated by large scale ESSO test for estimate of brittle crack arrestability in thick steel plate. For large structures using thick steel plates, fracture toughness of welded joint is an important factor to obtain structural integrity. In general, there are two kinds of design concepts based on fracture toughness: crack initiation and crack arrest. So far, when steel structures such as buildings, bridges and ships were manufactured using thick steel plates (max. 80~100mm in thickness), they had to be designed in order to avoid crack initiation, especially in welded joint. However, crack arrest design has been considered as a second line of defense and applied to limited industries like pipelines and nuclear power plants. Although welded joint is the weakest part to brittle fracture, there are few results to investigate crack arrest toughness of welded joint. In this study, brittle crack arrest designs were developed for hatch side coaming of large container ships using arrest weld, hole, and insert technology.

확산 접합에 의해 제조된 텅스텐-레늄 합금/티타늄/그래파이트 접합체의 미세구조 및 고온 안정성 (Interfacial Microstructure of Diffusion-Bonded W-25Re/Ti/Graphite Joint and Its High-Temperature Stability)

  • Graphite was diffusion-bonded by hot-pressing to W-25Re alloy using a Ti interlayer. For the joining, a uniaxial pressure of 25 MPa was applied at $1600^{\circ}C$ for 2 hrs in an argon atmosphere with a heating rate of $10^{\circ}C\;min^{-1}$. The interfacial microstructure and elemental distribution of the W-25Re/Ti/Graphite joints were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Hot-pressed joints appeared to form a stable interlayer without any micro-cracking, pores, or defects. To investigate the high-temperature stability of the W-25Re/Ti/Graphite joint, an oxy-acetylene torch test was conducted for 30 seconds with oxygen and acetylene at a 1.3:1 ratio. Cross-sectional analysis of the joint was performed to compare the thickness of the oxide layer and its chemical composition. The thickness of W-25Re changed from 250 to $20{\mu}m$. In the elemental analysis, a high fraction of rhenium was detected at the surface oxidation layer of W-25Re, while the W-25Re matrix was found to maintain the initial weight ratio. Tungsten was first reacted with oxygen at a torch temperature over $2500^{\circ}C$ to form a tungsten oxide layer on the surface of W-25Re. Then, the remaining rhenium was subsequently reacted with oxygen to form rhenium oxide. The interfacial microstructure of the Ti-containing interlayer was stable after the torch test at a temperature over $2500^{\circ}C$.

초교환 상호작용 제어를 통해 강유전 BiFeO3-BaTiO3 시스템에서 유도된 상온 강자성 거동 (Room-Temperature Ferromagnetic Behavior in Ferroelectric BiFeO3-BaTiO3 System Through Engineered Superexchange Path)

  • Multiferroics exhibiting the coexistence and a possible coupling of ferromagnetic and ferroelectric order are attracting widespread interest in terms of academic interests and possible applications. However, room-temperature single-phase multiferroics with soft ferromagnetic and displacive ferroelectric properties are still rare owing to the contradiction in the origin of ferromagnetism and ferroelectricity. In this study, we demonstrated that sizable ferromagnetic properties are induced in the ferroelectric bismuth ferrite-barium titanate system simply by introducing Co ions into the A-site. It is noted that all modified compositions exhibit well-saturated magnetic hysteresis loops at room temperature. Especially, 70Bi0.95Co0.05FeO3-30Ba0.95Co0.05TiO3 manifests noticeable ferroelectric and ferromagnetic properties; the spontaneous polarization and the saturation magnetization are 42 µC/cm2 and 3.6 emu/g, respectively. We expect that our methodology will be widely used in the development of perovskite-structured multiferroic oxides.

  • 교량은 재료의 발달과 신형식의 개발로 많은 발전을 이루어 왔으나, 현장에서 거의 모든 작업 공정이 이루어진다는 기본 틀을 탈피하지 못하고 있다. 급속 시공 건설 기술은 현재 세계적으로 그 효용성이 증가하게 되어 현재 국내 외적으로 조립식 교량에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 하지만, 상부구조와 비교하여 하부구조의 경우에는 연구 및 시공 실적이 매우 미미한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 조립식 내부 구속 중공 CFT 교각에 대해서 대략적으로 설명하고, 교각 세그먼트 접합부의 설계식을 제안하였으며 교각 세그먼트 접합부의 구성요소에 대한 매개변수 연구를 수행하였다.

엔진배기밸브의 내열강 이종재 마찰용접의 최적화와 고온 크리프의 실시간 예측 및 AE에 의한 실시간 평가 (Dissimilar Friction Welding of Engine Exhaustive Valve and High Temperature Creep Prediction and Their Real-Time Evaluation by AE)

  • The engine exhaustive valve became essential as the important element. The dissimmilar welding method of exhaustive valve head to stem was asked for manufacturing the engine exhaustive valve, for which the electric resistance are welding has been conventionally used, resulting in poor quality of the welded joint. In this paper, not only the development of optimizing of friction welding with more reliability and more applicability but also the development of in-process real-time weld qudlity(such as strength and toughness) evaluation technique by acoustic emission for friction welding of the engine exhaustive valve(SUH3-SUH35 dissimilar steels) were perfomed. The high temperature(500, 500, 600$^{circ}$C) creep properties prediction of the friction welded joint of SUH3-SUH35 was investigated relating to the initial strain meethod(ISM) as a new approach, resulting in obtaining an experimental equation of creep life prediction.

지구물리 자료를 이용한 한일공동개발구역 일원의 구조 해석 (Study on the Structure of the Korea-Japan Joint Development Zone by Means of Geophysical Data)

  • 이 논문에서는 중력, 자력, 및 탄성파 자료를 이용하여 한일공동개발구역(Korea-Japan Joint Development Zone, JDZ)의 구조를 분석했다. 중력과 자력 자료를 분석한 결과 제주 분지 일원에서 낮은 중력 및 자력 이상을 보이는 영역이 확인되었다. 또한, 분지 경계를 확인하기 위하여 부게 이상 자료에 총수평 기울기(total horizontal gradients)를, 그리고 총자기 이상 자료에 어넬리틱 시그널(analytic signal)을 적용한 결과 분지 경계를 확인할 수 있었다. 높은 대자율을 보이는 타이완-신지 벨트는 북동-남서 방향으로 JDZ의 중심을 가로지르고 있으며 관입암체로 추정되는 암상들이 JDZ에 산발적으로 나타난다. 3차원 자력 및 중력 역산 결과는 대자율과 밀도의 높은 상관 관계를 보였다. 제주 분지와 호 분지에서 낮은 밀도 분포를 나타내며 타이완-신지 벨트에서는 높은 대자율 분포를 보여준다. 제주 분지 일원 측선에서 밀도 단면도와 탄성파 단면도를 비교한 결과 높은 밀도는 화성 활동에 의한 암상(sill), 지루(horst), 기반암 상승부와 연관 있으며 낮은 밀도는 기반암이 함몰된 지구(graben)과 연관된 것으로 해석된다. 이 결과는 탄성파 자료와 중자력 자료를 활용한 융합 해석법이 JDZ 일원의 지하구조 특성을 효과적으로 파악할 수 있음을 제시한다.
