The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI): Opportunities and Risks from Vietnamese Perspective

  • The goal of this research is to look at the Belt and Road Initiative's (BRI) goals, principles, and priorities, as well as criticisms and concerns. Another goal is to determine the Vietnamese government's best response to the BRI. Finally, the study looks at the Vietnamese viewpoint. Document review is used in conjunction with PESTELED analysis and EIU country risk model technique in this study. The study is focused on in-depth interviews with 38 top government leaders, researchers, and scholars by adopting the Delphi technique to determine major factors of risks and opportunities as well as obtain a clearer view on the Vietnamese perspective of the BRI. The main conclusion is that Vietnam's participation in the BRI could result in a variety of benefits and risks, including economic development, connectivity and integration, development finance, cooperation, coordination, trade facilitation, and people-to-people communication, as well as diplomatic and political risks, financial risks, environmental challenges, and job creation. Another conclusion is suggested that careful and case-by-case negotiation with China is needed for Vietnam to exploit the future benefits of BRI. There is a need to set up the strategy to mitigate the risk impacts, reduce the risk level, avoid risk, at last turn the risk into opportunities.

위탁급식업체 규모에 따른 급식관리자 직무만족에 영향을 미치는 개인, 급식소 및 조직특성 분석 (Identifying the Effect of Personal, Foodservice and Organizational Characteristics on Foodservice Managers' Job Satisfaction by the Contract Management Company Scale)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the influences of contract foodservice managers' personal characteristics, foodservice characteristics and organizational characteristics on job satisfaction, including interpersonal relationships, self-actualization and promotion opportunity categories. A survey was administered to four hundred contract foodservice managers of five large companies and five small/medium companies in the Seoul and Kyungin areas. The final response rate was 66%(N=265), and the data were analyzed using SPSS Windows(ver. 12.0). The respondents were 76.1% female, average age 28.8 years, and 73.0% were regular workers. Contract foodservices have profit and loss contracts(69.1%), single menu types(59.6%) and buffet serving styles(37.7%). There are significant differences of job satisfaction by some personal characteristic variables(gender, martial status, age, education, position, work hours, period of working for the present company, and payroll per year) and foodservice characteristic variables(type of contract and charge of food costs). In three job satisfaction categories, foodservice managers reported the highest interpersonal relationship satisfaction, following self-actualization satisfaction and promotion opportunity satisfaction in both large companies and small/medium companies. However, foodservice managers of large companies tended to be more satisfied regarding their promotion opportunities than foodservice managers of small/medium companies(p<0.05). Work hours, number of meals served/day, male, workload, communication with the clients, relationship with co-workers, obvious role and autonomy were significant factors to increase the job satisfaction in contract foodservices of large companies. On the other hand, relationships with co-workers and males were significant factors to increase the job satisfaction in contract foodservices of small/medium companies. This research suggests that contract foodservice companies need to understand the characteristics of their managers, foodservices and organizations to enhance the job satisfaction of foodservice managers and to develop specified human resource management strategies that can be applied to each company scale.

신규 보건진료전담공무원이 인식한 직무역량과 교육요구 (Job Competencies and Educational Needs Perceived by New Community Health Practitioners)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to identify job competencies and needs for job education perceived by new community health practitioners. Methods: This study used a qualitative research design. Eight new community health practitioners participated in this study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using content analysis. Results: Five job competencies were identified in this study, including primary care, public health management, interpersonal relationship, teaching and counseling, and leadership. The contents of job education that they needed were management of major symptoms and chronic diseases, understanding and prescription of medications, emergency responses and care, management of endemic diseases, planning and management of public health programs, writing official documentsand computer works, and leadership training. The learning methods they preferred were connecting theory and practice, situation- or case-based learning, skill- or practice-based learning, and increased opportunities of clinical practice. Conclusion: The findings of this study provided the direction of job education for new community health practitioners. Job education for new community health practitioners needs to consider the job competencies and educational needs identified in this study.

구인 구직 애플리케이션 사용성 평가 연구 -알바몬과 알바천국을 중심으로- (Job Application Usability Assessment Study -Focused on Albamon and Albachunkuk-)

  • 최근 실업률 증가와 프리터족의 등장으로 아르바이트 구인 구직 애플리케이션의 이용률이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 아르바이트 구인 구직 애플리케이션 '알바몬'과 '알바천국'을 중심으로 구인 구직 애플리케이션의 현황과 문제점을 파악하고, 피터 모빌(Peter Morville)의 허니콤 모델을 기초로 설문조사와 심층 면접을 진행하였다. 사용성 평가 결과를 분석하여 도출된 개선 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 불건전 업소 및 중복된 구인 글 차단 필터가 더욱 강화되어야 한다. 둘째, 애플리케이션의 주 사용자인 20대에게 맞춘 디자인이 필요하다. 셋째, 메인 화면에 사용자에게 맞는 섬세한 맞춤형 아르바이트 목록 구성이 필요하다. 넷째, 애플리케이션 자체에서 근로 계약서 작성 확인 절차와 업주자 신고 기능이 필요하다. 본 연구를 통해 국내 구인 구직 애플리케이션 서비스 개선에 기여하기를 기대한다.

프랜차이즈 레스토랑 점장의 직무만족에 관한 연구 (A study on the manager장s jon satifaction in franchise restaurant.)

  • This study aims to examine theoretical frame work of franchise restaurant, the characteristics of store manager's job and the level of their job satisfaction through an empirical investigation. Job satisfaction survey study shows that store managers consider important all work to be attended to as part of their duty with service management on top. It is also found that the majority of store managers consider their aptitude as most important job satisfaction factor and those, who are satisfied with their job content, advancement and the prospect, are more proactive in delivering qualify service and more than willing to commit themselves to their duties. Regrading demographical variables, store managers with scholarly competence and higher pay level are more likely to be satisfied with their job but married men are not satisfied with the work environment in general. Ergo, Businesses should correspond by capitalizing on those store managers content with their duty thus collecting additional information and providing opportunities to further contribute to the business. For those dissatisfied individuals, however, businesses should determine their demands and by educational training supply a motive therefore making possible the conversion of such individuals to satisfied store managers and their active participation in business management. But, as with any study, this one has a number of limitation which constraints the generalizability of the empirical findings. It has not been for long since franchise restaurants established in domestic market and has been few studies regarding this topic there. Furthermore, managers are not willing to release operation related data. Therefore, further study are urged to overcome this limitation and should examine other dimensions of job satisfaction such as relations between revenue and profit with the level of store manager's job satisfaction remain to be investigated.

임상 간호사의 감정노동, 감성지능 및 사회적 지지가 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Emotional Labor, Emotional Intelligence and Social Support on Job Stress in Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of emotional labor, emotional intelligence and social support on job stress in clinical nurses. Methods: Participants were 123 clinical nurses and data were collected from October to December, 2011 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression with SPSS 18.0. Results: A positive correlation was found between job stress and emotional labor. Emotional labor showed a significant negative correlation with emotional intelligence and social support, whereas a positive correlation was found between emotional intelligence and social support. The strongest predictor of job stress was emotional labor. In addition, institution satisfaction (dissatisfaction) and the reason for selecting the job (opportunities for service) accounted for 21% of variance in job stress. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that it is important to manage emotional labor as well as to improve job satisfaction in order to reduce job stress in clinical nurses.

학교도서관 순회사서 직무만족도 연구 (A Study on the Job Satisfaction of School Library Itinerant Librarians)

  • 본 연구는 학교도서관 인적자원의 현황을 파악하고, 인적자원이 부재한 학교도서관을 지원하는 순회사서의 직무만족도를 통해 학교도서관의 발전방향을 제시하고자 한다. 순회사서제도가 운영되고 있는 전남, 경북, 경남의 직원을 대상으로 일반적인 현황과 근무체계, 업무 특성을 파악하고 직무만족도를 조사·분석하였다. 분석결과 사서 1명이 10여개에서 200여개의 학교를 담당하고 있었으며, 30%의 사서는 공공도서관 소속으로 나타났다. 직무만족도는 3.45점으로 나타났으며, 세부항목을 보면 직무(4.15), 보람(3.89), 의사소통(3.70)은 평균 이상인 반면, 승진공정(2.08), 교육(1.96)은 낮게 나타났다. 직무만족을 높이기 위해 본 연구에서는 순회사서 인력 증원, 계속교육 기회제공, 순회사서 소속 변경 등을 제안하였다.

  • 중국에서 기업 내부의 창의적인 아이디어와 건설적인 제안은 새로운 글로벌 기회와 도전을 더 잘 맞이할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 실증분석을 통해 채택된 발언행동이 중국 직원들의 업무성과에 미치는 영향을 검증하고, 매개변수로 조직지원 인식을 선정하고자 한다. 본 연구는 이론적 연구를 바탕으로 6가지 연구 가설을 제안하고 연구모형을 설정한다. 조사 방법으로 중국의 직원들로부터 데이터를 수집했고 구조 방정식 모델(SEM)을 사용하여 가설을 검증하였다. 분석결과는 채택된 발언행동과 직무만족, 직무몰입, 직무성과의 관계에서 조직지원 인식이 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 본 연구는 자료수집의 편의성 때문에 연구결과의 일반화에 한계가 있고 향후 연구는 이 방법론 문제를 개선해야 한다.

Issues of Workplace in Korea: How to Inspire Temporary Workers?

  • Purpose - This study will focus on motivation of temporary workers working in distributors as well as generic companies, especially MPS (motivating potential score) proposed by job characteristics model. We think that temporary workers required intrinsic motivation in order to commit with their organization because they are difficult switch-regular workers due to glass ceiling. Research design, data, methodology - This study operates a survey targeting temporary workers, specifically, we used 144 copies except uncollected copies and dishonesty response of total 165 copies on analysis. We used multiple regression and 3 step regression to investigate the proposed model. Results - The high level of perceived distributional justice and procedural justice was increased the level of organizational commitment, respectively. And, MPS was increased the level of organizational commitment, too. Finally, this study showed that both justice and Job characteristics were very important to increase organizational commitment. Conclusions - In order to inspire temporary workers, the company provides placing enough considering job characteristics as well as fairness of the procedure and distribution. Also, to more fully understand the underlying processes between HRM (Human Resource Management) concepts, new fundamental methods may be required such as switch full-time opportunities.

Factors Affecting Job Motivation among Faculty Members: Evidence from Vietnamese Public Universities

  • Higher education has long been considered as a means of human resource development in a nation. The faculty member plays a significant role in improving the quality of higher education. It is clear that job satisfaction and motivation have effect on the faculty member's performance. The objective of this study is to investigate the levels and factors affecting lecturers' motivation in Vietnamese public universities. In this study, ordinary least squares (OLS) and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) have been utilized to identify the factors affecting work motivation of lecturers at Vietnamese universities. A questionnaire was administered to a sample of 189 lecturers at different public universities in Vietnam. The finding indicates that seven factors including Work characteristics (WC), Wage and welfare (WW), Social recognition (SR), Peer relationships (PR), Training and promotion opportunities (PO), Leader caring (LC) and Teacher-student interaction and student's attitude (IA) have positive effect on lecturers' work motivation. Among these factors, Teacher-student interaction and student's attitude (IA) has the strongest impact with the coefficient of 0.631 and Peer relationships (PR) has the least impact on work motivation with the coefficient of 0.020. The study findings can facilitate the understanding of how to increase work satisfaction at the universities in Vietnam.
