Movement of Research in Mathematics Education in 1990's - focused on the master's theses in Korea - (1990년대 우리나라 수학교육연구 동향 - 석사학위논문을 중심으로-)

  • In this study, the number of theses conducted in 1990's for the master's degree in mathematics education was investigated in terms of their fields and themes. These theses were analysed as to how much they had been studied according to the field and whether they had conformed to the expectations and requirements for research in mathematics education under the current educational curriculum. Futhermore, this study aimed to discover advancing directions of research in mathematics education. The results are as follows: First, the rate of annual thesis presentations decreased as many as 3.82% in 1994 compared with the previous year, but the rate increased steadily in the other years showing an overall annual average increase of 8.41%. Second, in the geographical distribution of thesis presentations among local provinces, Seoul represented the highest frequency at 41.13% and Cheju Island the lowest at 1.68%. When the annual thesis presentations were analysed among regions, their number increased steadily in Seoul, but fluctuated in most other regions. Third, regarding study themes, theses on mathematics education formed 70.91% of the total while those focusing on pure mathematics formed 29.09%. Among the theses of mathematics education, most were based on teaching curriculums and the least were based on education assessment. Among the theses on teaching curriculum, teaching analytics formed the highest rate. Theses on education technology, such as computerizing and computing, have shown to be increasing annually and formed 8.95% of the total in 1999. The study also indicated that especially in the late 1990's, there have been many designed programs based on the Web, like JAVA and CGI, and studies on teaching and teaming methods using the internet.

  • Recently in connection with the development of network technology, GIS researches shift their focuses to openGIS which enables to share heterogeneous geodata and geoprocessing resource under the environment of LAN and WAN. This study proposes an easy method to develope GUIs which enables openGIS in the intranet environment. In the developing stage of GUI, the most important thing is to develop effective windows programming technique and apply a internet linking technique to developed GUIs. This study shows an internet linking technique and a GUI developing method using OLE automation and ActiveX/COM standards. Using a case study of Taegu City Library, the study constructs a GIS database and develops its GUI which performs map overlaying, referencing attribute tables, drawing up of thematic map, buffer analysis, and statistical calculations. This study remains same further research areas of developing a new advanced technique for openGIS and its GUI using distributed object model of CORBA, Java language, and JDBC data accessing technique.

  • By using geolocation and maps, we need to trace the path of ourselves, others, or the objects. Until now, we used a native apps development mehod to develop path tracking systems in mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet computers. A disadvantage of this method is that we have to work again to provide the same service on different platforms. Web Apps and Hybrid Apps are developed to recover this disadvantage. Since Hybrid Apps look like Native Apps apparently, users prefer Hybrid Apps to Web Apps. In this paper, we develop a hybrid app which can trace the path on mobile devices. The recently suggested next generation markup language, HTML5, has geolocation features. By using them, we implemented a hybrid app for a path tracking system. First, we create a web app using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript, Then, PhoneGap, a mobile development framework, is used to convert it to the hybrid app. By implementing hybrid app, various apps which need path tracking can be developed rapidly and effectively, regardless of the mobile devices.

  • It has been recognized as an important issue to design optimally a firm's logistics network for minimizing logistics cost and maximizing customer service. It is, however, not easy to get an optimal solution by analyzing trade-off of cost factors, dynamic and interdependent characteristics in the logistics network decision making. Although there has been some developments in a system which helps decision making for logistics analysis, it is true that there is no system for enterprise-wise's on-site support and methodical logistics decision. Specially, E-biz process along with information technology has been made dramatic advance in a various industries, there has been much need for practical education closely resembles on-site work. The software developed by this study materializes efficient algorithm suggested by recent studies in key topics of logistics such as location and allocation problem, traveling salesman problem, and vehicle routing problem and transportation and distribution problem. It also supports executing a variety of experimental design and analysis in a way of the most user friendly based on Java. In the near future, we expect that it can be extended to integrated supply chain solution by adding decision making in production in addition to a decision in logistics.

  • The purpose of this paper is the development of course data models and learning achievement computation algorithms for enabling the course-embedded assessment(CEA), which is essential of competency-based education in higher education. The previous works related CEA have weakness in the development of the systematic solution for CEA computation. In this paper, we propose data models and algorithms to implement competency-based assessment system. Our data models are composed of a layered architecture of learning outcomes, learning modules and activities, and an associative matrix of learning outcomes and activities. The proposed methods can be applied to the development of the course-embedded assessment system as core modules. We evaluated the effectiveness of our proposed models through applying the models to a practical course, Java Programing. From the result of the experiments we found that our models can be used in the assessment system as a core module.

  • In many metropolitan cities around the world, ground and underground transportation networks are saturated due to urbanization. In addition, regulations on carbon emissions to prevent global warming are becoming stricter, and eVTOL, which will be operating in complex cities, is gaining popularity as the next generation of eco-friendly transportation. In this study, the hover lift efficiency and disc loading of eVTOLs for each type were calculated by classifying eVTOLs into following types: multicopter, lift+cruise, and vectored thrust. In addition, using the aerodynamic analysis programs OpenVSP, Fluent and Javaprop, the specific battery energy required for the smooth operation of eVTOL, which will be realized in the near future, was calculated and analyzed base on reports published by Uber and airworthiness authorities of each country.

Constructing a Conceptual Electronic Record Management System Model Based on Eight Indonesian Education Standards to Support School Accountability

  • Record management, especially in schools as an institution's information centre, needs serious attention from government agencies. Under record management policy, there needs to be practical guidance on record management specific to schools. This paper aims to construct a record management model based on the Eight Indonesian Education Standards to support school accountability in Indonesia. The urgency of this paper in filling the gap in the Electronic Record Management System (ERMS) role is primarily to support school accountability. It is important to include educational laws and regulations in Indonesia to be a foundation in archive management, including preparing the ERMS. This study aims to develop a model of record management in schools. The final stage in this research is to find the final model. The final model is a model that experts and practitioners have validated. A total of 30 records managers were selected for the interviews. Furthermore, the trial was carried out in 30 senior high schools. The research sampling consisted of representatives of archive managers at selected schools from five islands in Indonesia (Kalimantan, Java, Papua, Sumatra, and Sulawesi). Our research findings show that conceptual models meet valid criteria and significantly impact archivist performance in better schools. The practical implication is that the archival management model based on national education standards policies contributes to practical archives and records management to support school accountability.

  • The interest in the aircraft interior market is gradually growing due to technological development based on the 4th industrial revolution and competition for airlines to attract customers, and as part of that, Cabin Display System (CDS) for FAA Part.25 civil aircraft is being developed in Korea. The CDS is a system that provides various multimedia services to passengers by utilizing Flexible and Transparent Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED) with Integrated Display Processing Module (IDPM). This paper presents a new method for efficient Data Load Process of large-sized files and deals with their implementation and performance. The results of this study are expected to be applied to Data Load Process development of avionics that require reliable large-capacity file transmission along with reducing the costs of development compared to existing ARINC-615A.

IS 지식에 대한 IS 실무자와 전공 교수 간의 인식 차이 분석

  • IS/IT 분야 실무자가 지니고 있어야 한다고 생각되는 지식과 전문 기술들을 '지식/능력 영역'과 '소프트웨어 전문 기술 영역'으로 구분하여 각각 세부 항목을 명세하였다. 그리고 분류된 두 영역에 대하여 IS/IT 분야 실무자가 생각하는 필요한 지식 및 전문 기술들의 중요도와 IS/IT 전공 교수가 생각하는 IS/IT 실무자에게 필요한 지식 및 전문 기술들의 중요도를 조사하여 두 그룹간의 인식차 비교를 시도하였다. 조사지역은 실무자는 충청지역 및 수도권 지역에 분포하는 SI 업체를 대상으로 이루어 졌다. IS/IT 실무자를 대상으로 한 조사는 실무자 본인의 일장에서 IS/IT 실무자가 갖추어야 된다고 판단되는 지식 및 전문 기술들의 중요도를 측정하였다. 그와 더불어 그들이 수행하는 IS 활동에 대하여 투자한 시간을 기준으로 군집분석을 실시하여 세가지 그룹으로 구분하여 실무자 전체와 세 그룹간의 비교가 가능하도록 조차되었다. 비교 결과, 지식/능력 영역에서는 IS 실무자들이 상대적으로 '하드웨어에 대한 지식', '특정 조직', '운영체제에 대한 지식'에 대해 더 높은 중요도를 부여하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 소프트웨어 전문 기술 영역에서는 실무자보다 전공교수가 생각하는 중요도가 보편적으로 더 높게 나타났다. 전공 교수는 '프리젠테이션 도구', '객체지향 언어(C++, Java 등)'에 4점 대의 높은 점수를 주어 중요한 것이 무엇인가 하는 인지가 있는 것으로 보이나 실무자 그룹에서는 특별히 중요시 여기는 항목이 명확히 드러나지 않고 보편적인 값이 median 값 주변에 위치하고 있다. 이는 현재 실무자들이 빠르게 변화하고 있는 IS/IT 환경에서 본인의 경력경로 (career path)을 위해 무엇이 중요한 갓인지 아직 명확히 하고 있지 못하는 것으로도 해석이 가능하다. 자세한 비교/분석 및 해석은 현재 진행 중이며, 여러 흥미로운 해석이 가능할 것으로 기대 된다.합형 파괴가 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 이상의 결과로, 상아질 접착제의 접착단계/과정이 결합내구성에 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 접착과정의 단순화가 반드시 접착에 효과적이라고 할 수 없다.는 저작 운동 잔에는 2군에서 Heliomolar가 Pyramid보다 변연적합도가 우수하였고 (p < 0.05) 그 외의 군에서는 유의차가 없었으며, 저작 운동 후에는 모든 군에서 재료간 유의차가 없었다. 각 부위별 변연적합도를 비교하면, 저작 운동 전 Pyramid에서는 교합면 변연에서는 4군이 2군에 비해 높은 변연적합도를 보였고 (p < 0.05), 인접면과 치은면에서는 군 간 유의차를 보이지 않았다. Heliomolar에서는 교합면 변연에서 2, 4군이 1군에 비해 높은 변연적합도를 보였고 (p < 0.05), 인접면과 치은면에서는 군간 유의차를 보이지 않았다. 저작 운동 후 Pyramid에서는 교합면 변연에서는 3군이 1, 2군에 비해 높은 변연적합도를 보였고 (p < 0.05), 인접면과 치은면에서는 군간 유의차를 보이지 않았다.   • The management of data on biological diversity is presently complex and confusing. This study was initiated to construct a database so that such data could be stored in a data management, and analysis instrument to correct the problems inherent in the current incoherent storage methods. MySQL was used in DBMS(DataBase Management System), and the program was basically produced using Java technology Also, the program was developed so people could adapt to the requirements that are changing every minute. We hope this was accomplished by modifying easily and quickly the advanced programming technology and patterns. To this end, an effective and flexible database schema was devised to store and analyze diversity databases. Even users with no knowledge of databases should be able to access this management instrument and easily manage the database through the World Wide Web. On a basis of databases stored in this manner, it could become routinely used for various databases using this analysis instrument supplied on the World Wide Web. Supplying the derived results by using a simple table and making results visible using simple charts, researchers could easily adapt these methods to various data analyses. As the diversity data was stored in a database, not in a general file, this study makes the precise, error-free and high -quality storage in a consistent manner. The methods proposed here should also minimize the errors that might appear in each data search, data movement, or data conversion by supplying management instrumentation on the Web. Also, this study was to deduce the various results to the level we required and execute the comparative analysis without the lengthy time necessary to supply the analytical instrument with similar results as provided by various other methods of analysis. The results of this research may be summerized as follows: 1)This study suggests methods of storage by giving consistency to diversity data. 2)This study prepared a suggested foundation for comparative analysis of various data. 3)It may suggest further research, which could lead to more and better standardization of diversity data and to better methods for predicting changes in species diversity.
