Track maintenance works based on track geometry recordings are essential to enhance the safety and comfort of railway transportation. Usually, the track irregularity has been measured by a special inspection trains which all were imported from abroad. Because the inspection train speed is limited under 160 km/h, it takes a long time to inspect railways and there is difficulty in daytime operation. To solve this problem, we started to develop a track geometry measuring system (TGMS) with measurement speed up to 300 km/h which can be installed in commercial vehicles such as HEMU-430X. In this paper, we introduce a newly developed inertial TGMS and propose two inertial navigation system (INS) algorithms (method A, B) for measuring track geometry. In order to investigate advantage and disadvantage of each algorithm, we performed vibration test of the TGMS, which was simulated by 6-axis shaking table. Through the vibration test, we analyzed the influence of vehicle vibration on the TGMS which will be installed on bogie frame. To the vibration test, two methods satisfied the required accuracy of track geometry measurement under the level of the actual vehicle vibration of HEMU-430X train. Theoretically, method A is sensitive to vehicle vibration than method B. However, HEMU-430X's bogie vibration frequency range is out of interest range of measurement system. Therefore, method A can also apply the HEMU-430X train.
The purpose of this study was to predict successful defibrillation in ventricular fibrillation using parameters extracted by wave analysis method and neuro-fuzzy. Total 15 dogs were tested for predicting successful defibrillation. Feature parameters were extracted for return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) and non-ROSC by wave analysis method, and these parameters are an irregularity factor, spectral moments, mean power of level-crossing spectrum, and mean of alpha-significant value. Additionally, two parameters by analyzing method of frequency were extracted into a mean of power spectrum and a mean frequency. Then extracted parameters were analyzed in which parameters result to have high performance of discriminating ROSC and non-ROSC by a statistical method of t-test. The average of sensitivity and specificity were 62.5% and 75.0%, respectively. The average of positive predictive factor and negative predictive factor were 61.2% and 75.8%, respectively.
Behaviour of 7 horned Japanese Black Cattle (3-9 years old) kept in a $450m^2$ dry-lot under loose housing condition was observed in the daytime (0930-1730 h) during 3 consecutive days. Eating and lying behaviour of cattle and the positions of all animals when lying together were recorded at 10-min intervals. Agonistic encounters and social licking interactions in the herd were also recorded. The cattle established a social hierarchy which was near linear. An irregularity in the diurnal rhythm of lying behaviour was found on the 3rd day, which appeared to be caused by oestrus behaviour of a herdmate. Eating frequency showed greater variation among individuals than lying frequency, and the most dominant animal ate most frequently in the herd. The spatial pattern of the herd when lying indicated a relatively loose dispersion in the lot. Higher ranking cattle tended to lie down more frequently near the hay rack in the lot, so that lower ranking animals had more difficult access to feed. Cattle with more social licking interactions had a tendency to lie down near each other irrespective of proximity of social order, therefore it was suggested that social preference among particular individuals occurred in the herd.
This study was performed to compare dietary behaviors based on residence types of female college students. Self reports on dietary behavior and one-day dietary records were obtained from 227 female college students using anonymous questionnaires. The mean age of the subjects was $20.4{\pm}1.43$, and the height and weight were $162.5{\pm}4.8cm$ and $52.3{\pm}7.9kg$, respectively, The dietary behavior of female college students was inadequate, showing indifference to dietary balance, irregularity of meals, skipping breakfast, and high experience of drinking. One-day dietary records were obtained from 24k recall methods also showed a high number registering skipped meal status ($55.3\%$) and less diverse food intake (DVS, 12.5; DDS, 3.93). The students in self boarding residence were especially more likely not to eat properly and their dietary behaviors were found to be significantly poor. In the case of home residence, food intake frequency scores for milk and dairy products, fruits, and fishes were significantly higher, however the students in self boarding residences showed high food intake frequency scores in salted food, retort food, canned food, and especially instant ramyun. Therefore, more attention needs to be given to them to recognize the problems in their own dietary behaviors and more practical nutritional supports, like developing a menu for breakfast in college cafeterias, would be helpful to improve their dietary choices.
The Purpose of this study is to give the hydrologically basic data for the development of water resources in Korea and a quantity of daily average precipitation and its frequency in a year are investigated to study the presumption which is affected to river flow. Characteristics of precipitation is poor as source of water resources compared with its efficiency. So, because of such characteristics of precipitation, river flow also is in harmony and distribution of river flow comes to the result of irregularity, that is, range of river coefficiet between the quantity of maximum river flow and others river flow is big, and it is insufficient as source of water resources. Yearly river flow being expressed by daily unit indicates the ratio(%) of distribution to total yearly river flow, and the model of hydrograph is drawn up. The gives the basis to make yearly water balance sheet. This study is not completed, yet but in forth-coming days, the water will try continuously to give more correct basis for the development of water resources according to a great deal of data.
The vibration of an attractive magnetic levitation(Maglev) vehicle transportation system is caused by the irregularity of the guideway track and the performance of the suspensions of the Maglev system. It is essential for us to give attention to the secondary suspension of the vehicle system as it determines the ride quality. In order to improve the ride quality and running stability, active secondary suspensions have been developed and applied to the vibration problems. This paper analyzes the performance of the active secondary suspension which is applied to an attractive magnetic levitation vehicle system running on a rough track. The dynamics of the suspension system and the optimal control problems are studied. According to the transient and frequency response analyses to the track disturbance, the ride quality of an attractive Maglev vehicle has been improved by applying the designed LQR active controller, and it has been confirmed that this improvement was also influenced by the configuration of the system.
The performance of printer can be determined by the printing speed, noise level, printing quality which includes the resolution, regularity of printed matter and etc. Among them, printing quality mostly depends on the irregularity of the line spacing and dot size. The irregular line spacing and dot size in laser beam printer are mainly from the jitter which comes from the vibration of Organic Photo Conductive(OPC) drum and the Laser Scanning Unit(LSU). Jitter due to the vibration of LSU appears as high-frequency component which occurs 100-300$\mu\textrm{m}$ interval in printed matter and the causes of it can be estimated as the vibration of polygon motor, case, reflecting mirror and etc. In this paper, vibration characteristics of the LSU under development are investigated and the strategy for improvement of the dynamic characteristics is established and its validity is demonstrated.
In this paper, the correlation between the vibration characteristics of the track components and the parameters affecting the vibration is analysed. To do it, the accelerations of each track component such as rails, sleepers and ballast are measured in Kyong-Bu high-speed railway lines. The RMS values of the measured data are calculated and the corrugation, the track irregularity and the pad stiffness are considered as the parameters in the viewpoint of track. By using the linear regression, the correlation coefficient is calculated to analyse the relationship. The parameter whose correlation coefficient is more than 0.7 is considered as the major one. Also, the 1/3 Octave analysis is calculated to analyse the dominant frequency band of the vibrations of the track components.
This study investigated potential causes of obesity by examining diet and lifestyle factors. The data from the 2008 Korea National Health and Nutrition Survey were statistically analyzed to determine the relative importance of causes of obesity. Because the factors affecting obesity for males and females were significantly different, binary choice logistic models of the male and female subjects were built and estimated separately. Our results show that stress, the irregularity of eating breakfast, and frequency of eating out had the three greatest impacts on male obesity, respectively, and stress, employment status, and age had the greatest impacts on female obesity, in that order.
In this paper, the correlation between the accelerations measured at the track components and the parameters affecting the acceleration is analyzed. To do it, the accelerations of each track component such as rails, sleepers and ballast are measured in Kyong-Bu high-speed Line. The RMS values of the measured accelerations are calculated and the pad stiffness, the longitudinal irregularity, running velocity and the corrugation, are considered as the parameters affecting the acceleration. By using the linear regression, the correlation coefficients are calculated to analyze the relationship between the acceleration characteristics and the parameters. Also, the 1/3 Octave analysis is calculated to analyze the dominant frequency band of the accelerations of the track components.
