  • This study was conducted on rare plants distributed in Chungnam area from April, 2012 to November, 2017. The rare plant populations that are emerging are: Utricularia pilosa, Jeffersonia dubia, Iris ruthenica, Tipularia japonica, Calanthe discolor, Parasenecio pseudotaimingasa, Ranunculus kazusensis, Berchemia racemosa, Pogonia minor and Glehnia littoralis. According to the criteria of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), plant resources in the rare species category were one important type (CR), three hazardous species (EN) and six vulnerable species (VU). As a result of analyzing characteristics of ecological environment and threats, five types of habitat types, two aquatic areas, two types of flatland and coastal sand dune distribution types were analyzed. The decreasing tendency of the rare plant populations in the surveyed area is judged to be artificial disturbance and habitat destruction rather than climate or environmental change. Considering the characteristics of habitat, conservation measures should be prepared for each population.

  • This study was carried oui to find a proper heat storage material and iris container for the thermal energy recovery system of a vehichle. For this purpose, various phenomenon during phase change from solid to liquid and vice versa for three kind material, octahydrate barium hydroxide, naphthalene and acetamide, are experimentally investigated. Also three type material such as pyrex glass, polyethylene and cupper are tested the feasibility as being a container of heat storage material. From this experimental results, $Ba(OH)_2{\cdot}8H_2O$ showed high possibility as good storage media with condition of long life cycle and stable phase change, and cupper was found out as proper container of $Ba(OH)_2{\cdot}8H_2O$.

  • A fuzzy identity based signature (FIBS) scheme allows a signer with identity ${\omega}$ to generate a signature which could be verified under identity ${\omega}^{\prime}$ if and only if ${\omega}$ and ${\omega}^{\prime}$ are within a certain distance of each other as judged by some metric. In this paper, we propose an efficient FIBS scheme from lattice assumption, which can resist quantum-computer attacks. Without using the Bonsai Tree technique, we utilize the lattice basis delegation technique to generate the private key, which has the advantage of keeping the lattice dimension invariant. We also prove that our proposed scheme is existentially unforgeable under an adaptive chosen message and identity attack in the random oracle model. Compared with existing scheme, our proposed scheme is much more efficient, especially in terms of communication overhead. Since our FIBS scheme possesses similar error-tolerance property, it can be well applied in post-quantum communication biometric authentication environments, where biometric identifiers such as fingerprints, voice, iris and gait are used in human identification.

  • We determined equivalent circuit parameters of a 1.5 cell S-band RF gun cavity from the resonant characteristics of its decoupled cavities(half cell and full cell) using the code SUPERFISH. Equivalent circuit parameters of the 1.5 cell RF gun cavity resonated in the 0-mode were obtained easily from the circuit parameters of each decoupled cavities. In order to obtain equivalent circuit parameters for the $\pi$ -mode cavity, we calculated the differences of the resonant frequencies and the equivalent resistances between the 0- and $\pi$ -modes with slight variations of the radius and thickness of the coupling iris. From those differences, we obtained R/Q value and equivalent resistance of the $\pi$ -mode, which are directly related to the equivalent circuit parameters of the coupled cavity. Using calculated R/Q value, we can express equivalent inductance, capacitance and resistances of the RF gun cavity resonated in the $\pi$ -mode, which can be useful for analyzing coupled cavities in a steady state.

  • A 15-year-old castrated male Persian (Case 1), an 1.5-year-old castrated male Bengal (Case 2), and an 1.5-year-old spayed female Russian Blue (Case 3) cats were presented with iris-color change and suspicious anterior chamber mass. Complete ophthalmic examination revealed a vascularized or blood tinted mass filling with anterior chamber accompanied by rubeosis iridis, dyscoria, keratic precipitates, and severe aqueous flare. Ocular ultrasonography showed an iridociliary mass with blood flow signal in Case 1. Abdominal ultrasonography also revealed suspicious metastatic involvements of liver and spleen in this cat. Case 2 and 3 were suspected of being infected with feline infectious peritonitis. Topical antibiotic/steroid combinations were prescribed to control the uveitis in all 3 cases, although enucleation was initially considered for palliative pain management in Case 1. Anterior chamber mass had almost completely disappeared after topical medications and uveitis has been successfully managed, remaining in sight, even though ocular hypertension developed 1 month later in Case 1.

  • This study was conducted to assess the health risk of carcinogenic heavy metals such as arsenic, nickel, chromium and cadmium Ambient concentrations of these metals were measured bimonthly, during May 1987 to March 1988. Respirable Particle concentrations of As, Ni, Cr, Cd in traffic area(Shinchon) were 16ng/㎥, 43ng/㎥, 4.2ng/㎥, 6.6ng/㎥, respectively, and in residential area(Bulkwang) were 25ng/㎥, 32ng/㎥, 4.7ng/㎥, 8.9ng/㎥, respectively. Carcinogenic risk of each metal was calculated by multiplication of ambient concentration and unit risk of the metal which was referred to recent version of Integrated Risk Information System(IRIS). Sum of the risk from these for metals was 9.8$\times$10$^{-5}$ as individual risk in traffic area and 13.9$\times$10$^{-5}$ in residential area.

  • Albinism, characterized by absence or lack of pigmentation from the hair, skin, hooves, nasal region and the eyes is rarely seen in cattle in Korea. A 15-day old calf, approximately weighing 28 kg has been conspicuously distinct from the rest of 40 herds of cattle raised in Sunchang country because of its white coat color, white muzzle and hooves and eyes with light pinkish iris. The calf was born of Korean indigenous cattle with no previously reported history of albinism since inception of the farm for over a decade period. It was assumed as a form of recessive genetic disorder. This observation was documented to present occurrence of albinism in cattle in Korea.
