강우로 인한 보강토옹벽의 붕괴사례 연구 (A Case Study in a Rainfall induced Failure of Geosynthetics-Reinforced Segmental Retaining Wall)

  • 본 논문에서는 옹벽 시공 완료 후 여름철 집중강우로 인해 붕괴된 보강토 옹벽 사고사례에 대한 원인 분석을 실시하였다. 사고 원인의 명확한 규명을 위해 붕괴된 옹벽의 현장조사 및 실내시험, 현 설계법에 근거한 안정성평가, 강우의 침투해석 및 suction을 고려한 사면안정해석을 실시하였고, 그 결과 현장조건을 제대로 반영하지 못한 부적합한 설계와 불량한 뒤채움 흙의 사용, 단기간의 집중호우로 인한 suction의 감소 및 전단강도의 감소가 붕괴의 주원인인 것으로 나타났다.

  • 일본에서 2004년도에 발행된 산림토목 목제구조물 시공 매뉴얼에 실려 있는 산림토목 목제구조물 설계지침은 총설, 목재의 이용과 특성, 조사, 계획 및 설계 등으로 구성되어 있으며, 이 논문에서는 총설, 목재의 이용과 특성, 조사 및 계획에 대하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 목재의 특성은 목재의 물리 화학적 특성, 환경에의 영향, 심리 생리적인 효과 및 목재의 부후성에 대해 정리되어 있으며, 조사항목은 유수에 의한 영향의 정도, 일사의 정도, 흰개미의 생식 유무, 지표수 및 지하수의 유하 상황, 계류 등에 서식하는 동식물의 상황, 물이용 상황 등이 제시되었다. 또한 계획에서는 목제구조물의 구조와 설치장소, 취급방법, 해당 지역의 목재 간벌재의 이용, 방부처리 등에 대하여 설명되어 있다.

  • 한국해양연구소(KORDI)는 후구로(Fugro Int.)사의 도움으로 마라도에서 약 152km 떨어진 지점에 건설 예정인 이어도 해양관측기지 건설을 위해서 해저지반의 특성조사를 수행하였다. 지반조사의 근본 목적은 해양과학기지가 설치될 이어도의 해저지반의 공학적 특성을 파악하고 조사자료를 이용하여 고정식 해양구조물의 기초설계를 하기 위한 것이었다. 본 논문에서는 해저지반조사의 상세한 설명과 고정식 해양구조물의 기초설계에 필요한 설계상수를 산정하는 방법에 대해서 토론하고자 한다. 연구결과로는 해저 현장토질의 특성을 고려한 해양말뚝의 기초설계에 필요한 지반설계 상수를 제안하였다.

A Basic Study on the Sustainable Design Elements in China's Houtan Park

  • With industrialization, environmental problems have become severe worldwide as resources are exhausted for mass production purposes and pollutants are produced in excess of nature's capacity to absorb them. Since modernity, urban parks have emerged as an important element for addressing challenges facing urban environments, which include environmental degradation. In 1987, the Brundtland Commission's report presented a sustainable developmental perspective in solving environmental problems and provided ideas for sustainable design and sustainable urban park landscape design. The purpose of this study is to analyze sustainable design applied to Houtan Park in central Shanghai, China from the perspective of social culture preservation, ecological restoration, and economic effect, and to provide the basic data for urban park design in similar areas in the future. This study consists of a literature survey and a field investigation. The field investigation lead to analysis from three perspectives: social culture preservation, ecological restoration, and economic effect. The literature survey examined sustainable urban parks and Houtan Park based on relevant papers, newspaper articles, and reports. Through actual visits (Aug. 28 - Sep. 1, 2018), it also examined the elements of sustainable design that were applied to the architecture. The three sustainable design elements derived from this study, being a sustainable design for the future, will be used as an important basis for developing urban parks for the regeneration of brownfields in many areas in China.

석회 공동의 특성과 카르스트 지역 내 교량 기초를 위한 조사 설계 (Characteristics of Lime-cavities and Survey Design for Bridge Foundation in the Karst Area)

  • Recently, the construction of the several highway bridges in the karst area have encountered severe problems associated with cavities and sinkholes. To solve this problems, it is important to understand the distribution characteristics of cavities in the construction site on limestone area. This paper briefly describes the different types, the distribution control factors and the infill sediment types of lime-cavities in the study area, bridge site in the karst area and propose the effective method of survey design. Cavity system may be divided into two main groups, 1)'slot and cave system'and 2)'sinkhole and cave system'. And the shape, the size and the distribution pattern of cavity are controlled by three main factors - rock type, geological structure and ground water condition. Additionally, infill sediment may be considered as one of the important design factors for foundation design and divided into four types by sediment properties. There are geophysical thechnics and geologic survey and drilling test, etc. by the survey method to interpretate characteristics of cavity system, and this methods are optimally designed at the site investigation stage.

Numerical investigation of the buckling behavior of thin ferrocement stiffened plates

  • One of the most common applications of ferrocement is the manufacturing of thin stiffened plates which are prone to buckling. This study focuses on the investigation of the behavior of a ferrocement plate, stiffened in both directions by means of an appropriate grid of ribs. In the present paper detailed three-dimensional numerical Finite Element models are formulated for the simulation of the behavior of the structure under study, which are able to take into account both the geometric and material non-linearities that are present in the subject at hand (plasticity, cracking, large displacements). The difference among the formulated models lies on the use of different types of finite elements. The numerical results obtained by each model are compared and the most efficient model is determined. Finally, this model is in the sequel used for the further investigation of the effect of different parameters on the ultimate load capacity, such as the initial out-of-plane imperfection of the plate and the interaction between the axial loads in both directions.

  • It is well known that pneumatic motors convert fluid power into mechanical power with a low efficiency. The Value of the efficiency depends on several factors, of which the most important are ; type of motor, speed, supply pressure, sie and geometry of the motor. This paper presents an analytical and experimental study of the performance of he vane type pneumatic motors. This investigation deals with all the pneumatic motors. This investigation deals with all the major aspects of the air flow through a vane type pneumatic motor and pints out which are the main causes of the low efficiency of the motor, and therefore indicates which changes in a motor design an lead to optimum performance.

  • U-Channel Bridge is effective bridge type, because its edge beam performs role of barrier and enables to reduce additional dead loads. Although it is effective to reduce additional dead loads, there is possibility of bridge collapse under impact load due to car crash. Also, edge beam must have ability to induce safe driving and prevent falling accidents. Therefore, it requires behavior analysis and property investigation through the vehicle impact crashing edge beam. This study presents method of structural analysis of U-channel bridge and investigates design specifications for the effect of the edge beam under the vehicle impact. Also, it carries out stability investigation of behavior of edge beam and slab, based on Korean Highway Bridge Design Specifications and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification.

  • This paper presents experimental data from model windings with different arrangement of coil in order to provide information to design a 22.9kV class HTS transformer. Before experiment, the composite insulation of two different type of HTS transformers are investigated. The first basic of investigation is a breakdown characteristic of liquid nitrogen and flashover characteristic on the GFRP surface under ac and impulse, The second investigation is insulation design, manufacture and test of model windings. These include a AC withstand voltage test of 50 kV rms and a lighting impulse test of 150 kV at peak.

  • When a crime occurs, the information necessary for solving the case, and various pieces of the evidence needed to prove the crime are collected from the crime scene. The tangible residues collected through scientific methods at the crime scene become evidence at trial and a clue to prove the facts directly against the offense of the suspect. Therefore, the scientific investigation and forensic handling for securing objective forensic in crime investigation is increasingly important. Today, digital systems, such as smartphones, CCTVs, black boxes, etc. are increasingly used as criminal information investigation clues, and digital forensic is becoming a decisive factor in investigation and trial. However, the systems have the risk that digital forensic may be damaged or manipulated by malicious insiders in the existing centralized management systems based on client/server structure. In this paper, we design and implement a blockchain based digital forensic management model using Hyperledger Fabric and Docker to guarantee the reliability and integrity of digital forensic. The proposed digital evidence management model allows only authorized participants in a distributed environment without a central management agency access the network to share and manage potential crime data. Therefore, it could be relatively safe from malicious internal attackers compared to the existing client/server model.
