Motion synthesis using physics-based controllers can generate a character animation that interacts naturally with the given environment and other characters. Recently, various methods using deep neural networks have improved the quality of motions generated by physics-based controllers. In this paper, we present a control policy learned by deep reinforcement learning (DRL) that enables Luxo, the mascot character of Pixar animation studio, to run towards a random goal location while imitating a reference motion and maintaining its balance. Instead of directly training our DRL network to make Luxo reach a goal location, we use a reference motion that is generated to keep Luxo animation's jumping style. The reference motion is generated by linearly interpolating predetermined poses, which are defined with Luxo character's each joint angle. By applying our method, we could confirm a better Luxo policy compared to the one without any reference motions.

In this paper, a 3V 8-bit 200MSPS CMOS folding / interpolation A/D Converter is proposed. It employs an efficient architecture whose FR(Folding Rate) is 8, NFB(Number of Folding Block) is 4, and IR (Interpolating Rate) is 8. For the purpose of improved SNDR by to be low input frequency, distributed track and hold circuits are included. In order to obtain a high speed and low power operation, further, a novel dynamic latch and digital encoder based on a novel delay error correction are proposed. The chip has been fabricated with a 0.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ 2-poly 3-metal n-well CMOS technology. The effective chip area is 1070${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$$\times$650${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and it dissipates about 230mW at 3.3V power supply. The INL is within $\pm$1LSB and DNL is within $\pm$1LSB, respectively. The SNDR is about 43㏈, when the input frequency is 10MHz at 200MHz clock frequency.

We have designed the system that measure one channel ECG by two electrode and extract real-time EDR with more related resipiration and comportable to subject by using conductive textile. On the assumption that relation between RL electrode and potential measurement electrode is coupled with RC connected model, we designed RL drive output to feedback two electrode for reduction of common mode signal. The conductive textile which was used for two ECG electrode was offered more comfort during night sleep in bed than any other method using attachments. In the method of single-lead EDR, R wave point or QRS interval area could be used for EDR estimation in traditional method, it is, so to speak, the amplitude modulation(AM) method for EDR. Alternatively, R-R interval could be used for frequency modulation(FM) method based on Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia(RSA). For evaluation of performance on AM EDR and FM EDR from 14 subject, ECG lead III was measured. Each EDR was compared with both temperature around nose(direct measurement of respiration) and respiration signal from thoracic belt(indirect measurement of respiration) on mean squared error(MSE), cross correlation(Xcorr), and Coherence. The upsampling interpolation technique of multirate signal processing is applied to interpolating data instead of cubic spline interpolation. As a result, we showed the real-time EDR extraction processing to be implemented at micro-controller.
In this paper, we explain a volume rendering system for client-server environment. A single GPU-equipped PC works as a server which is based on the ideas that only a few concurrent users use a volume rendering system in a small hospital. As the clients, we used Android mobile devices such as smart phones. User events are transformed to rendering requests by the client application. When the server receives a rendering request, it renders the volume using the GPU. The rendered image is compressed to JPEG or PNG format so that we can save network bandwidth and reduce transfer time. In addition, we perform an event pruning method while a user is dragging the touch to enhance latency. The server compensates the pruning by interpolating the touch positions. As the result, real-time volume rendering is possible for 5 concurrent users on single GPU-equipped commodity hardware.

In this paper, we propose a method for improving the performance of low complexity LS channel estimation for OFDM in fast time varying channels. The CE-BEM channel model used for the low complexity LS channel estimation has a problem on its own and deteriorates channel estimation performance. In this paper, we first use time domain windowing in order to remove the effect of ICI caused by data symbols. Then samples are taken from the results of the LS channel estimation and the effects of the windowing are removed from them. For resolving the defect of CE-BEM, the channel responses are recovered by interpolating the resultant samples with DPSS employed as basis functions the characteristics of which is well matched to the time variation of the channel. Computer simulations show that the proposed channel estimation method gives rise to performance improvement over conventional methods especially when channel variation is very fast and confirm that not only which type of functions is selected for the basis but how many functions are used for the basis is another key factor to performance improvement.

A 9b MS/s CMOS cyclic folding A/D converter (ADC) for intelligent battery sensor and battery management systems is proposed. The proposed ADC structure is based on a cyclic architecture to reduce chip area and power consumption. To obtain a high speed ADC performance, further, we use a folding-interpolating structure. The prototype ADC implemented with a 0.35um 2P4M n-well CMOS process shows a measured INL and DNL of maximum 1.5LSB and 1.0LSB, respectively. The ADC demonstrates a maximum SNDR and SFDR of 48dB and 60dB, respectively, and the power consumption is about 110mW at 2MS/s and 3.3V. The occupied active die area is $10mm^2$.

A CMOS 6-bit 100MSPS ADC for DBS receiver is designed. The proposed ADC is composed of folding block, latch block, and digital block. The cascode interpolating block and kickback reduced latch are proposed with a high speed architecture. To verify the performance of ADC, simulations are carried out by HSPICE. The ADC achieves a clock frequency of 100MHz with a power dissipation of 40mW for 3 V supply voltage. The active chip area is $1500{\mu}m{\times}1000{\mu}m$with $0.65{\mu}m$ 2-poly 2-metal CMOS process. Further, INL and DNL are within ${\pm}0.6LSB$, ${\pm}0.5LSB$, respectively. SNDR is about 33dB at 10MHz input frequency.

The treatment planning and dosimetry of small fields for stereotactic radiosurgery with 10 MV x-ray isocentrically mounted linear accelerator is presented. Special consideration in this study was given to the variation of absorbed dose with field size, the central axis percent depth doses and the combined moving beam dose distribution. The collimator scatter correction factors of small fields $(1\times1\~3\times3cm^2)$ were measured with ion chamber at a target chamber distance of 300cm where the projected fields were larger than the polystyrene buildup caps and it was calibrated with the tissue equivalent solid state detectors of small size (TLD, PLD, ESR and semiconductors). The central axis percent depth doses for $1\timesl\;and\;3\times3cm^2$ fields could be derived with the same acuracy by interpolating between measured values for larger fields and calculated zero area data, and it was also calibrated with semiconductor detectors. The agreement between experimental and calculated data was found to be under $2\%$ within the fields. The three dimensional dose planning of stereotactic focusing irradiation on small size tumor regions was performed with dose planning computer system (Therac 2300) and was verified with film dosimetry. The more the number of strips and the wider the angle of arc rotation, the larger were the dose delivered on tumor and the less the dose to surrounding the normal tissues. The circular cone, we designed, improves the alignment, minimizes the penumbra of the beam and formats ball shape of treatment area without stellate patterns. These dosimetric techniques can provide adequate physics background for stereotactic radiosurgery with small radiation fields and 10MV x-ray beam.

In this paper, we propose a real-time two-dimensional bar code detection system even at long range using a vision technique. We first perform short-range detection, and then long-range detection if the short-range detection is not successful. First, edge map generation, image binarization, and connect component labeling (CCL) are performed in order to select a region of interest (ROI). After interpolating the selected ROI using bilinear interpolation, a location symbol pattern is detected as the same as for short-range detection. Finally, the symbol pattern is arranged by applying inverse perspective transformation to localize bar codes. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system successfully detects bar codes at two or three times longer distance than existing ones even at indoor environment.
Just by adjusting the control points iteratively, progressive iterative approximation (PIA) presents an intuitive and straightforward scheme such that the resulting limit curve (surface) can interpolate the original data points. In order to obtain more flexibility, adjusting only a subset of the control points, a new method called local progressive iterative approximation (LPIA) has also been proposed. But to this day, there are two problems about PIA and LPIA: (1) Only an approximation process is discussed, but the accurate convergence curves (surfaces) are not given. (2) In order to obtain an interpolating curve (surface) with high accuracy, recursion computations are needed time after time, which result in a large workload. To overcome these limitations, this paper gives an explicit matrix expression of the control points of the limit curve (surface) by the PIA or LPIA method, and proves that the column vector consisting of the control points of the PIA's limit curve (or surface) can be obtained by multiplying the column vector consisting of the original data points on the left by the inverse matrix of the collocation matrix (or the Kronecker product of the collocation matrices in two direction) of the blending basis at the parametric values chosen by the original data points. Analogously, the control points of the LPIA's limit curve (or surface) can also be calculated by one-step. Furthermore, the $G^1$ joining conditions between two adjacent limit curves obtained from two neighboring data points sets are derived. Finally, a simple LPIA method is given to make the given tangential conditions at the endpoints can be satisfied by the limit curve.
