인도의 문화코드와 글로컬문화콘텐츠 (Indian Culture Code and Glocal Cultural Contents)

  • 전 세계적으로 문화콘텐츠 산업이 주목받기 시작하면서 글로컬문화콘텐츠 개발에 대한 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 골드만삭스의 BRICs 보고서에 따르면 인도는 중국과 더불어 미래 글로벌 경제의 성장 동력이자, 문화콘텐츠 소비시장의 새로운 블루칩으로 주목 받고 있다. 글로컬문화콘텐츠 개발에 있어 가장 중요한 것은 각 나라의 문화를 체계적·심층적으로 분석하는 것이다. 인도의 경우 단일문화권인 우리나라와는 다르게 복합·다문화 체계를 가지고 있으며 한국, 중국, 일본을 대표하는 동아시아 문화권에 속하지 않아 문화적 거리감도 큰 편이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 인도 진출을 목적으로 한 한국기업들을 위해 글로컬문화콘텐츠 개발의 방향을 제시하고 인도의 문화코드를 이해하는데 그 목표를 두고 있다. 연구 결과를 요약하면, 인도는 정치와 사회 그리고 문화 분야에서 대략 다음과 같이 9가지 문화코드가 발견된다. 먼저 정치와 사회 문화코드로는 다음 5가지가 있다: i) 지속적 민주주의와 서민구제, ii) 권력지향적 권위주의, iii) 집단주의와 개인주의 성향을 동시에 지닌 집단적 개인주의, iv) 생활종교의 정착, v) 미래보다 현재에 충실한 '카르페 디엠'. 그리고 경제 문화코드는 vi) 12억 인구가 모시는 또 다른 신인 돈, vii) 과소비를 지양하는 실용적 구매라는 2가지 코드로 요약할 수 있으며, 마지막으로 인도인이 선호하는 문화콘텐츠 코드로는 viii) 인도의 국민문화콘텐츠라고 할 수 있는 맛살라 무비를 들 수 있다. ix) 그리고 이 맛살라 무비의 공통된 주제인 해피엔딩을 꼽을 수 있다. 결론에서는 <대장금>, <괴물>, <디워>를 앞서 제시한 9가지 인도의 문화코드에 적용하여 어떤 점이 부합하고 또 어떤 점이 부합하지 않는지를 개략적으로 살펴보았다. 인도를 상대로 한 비즈니스는 결코 쉽지 않다. 그 이유는 일차적으로 인도라는 나라가 문화적으로 다양성을 기초로 이루어진 국가이기 때문이다. 따라서 우리나라와 인도의 현존하는 문화적 거리를 좁히는 것이 우리나라의 문화콘텐츠산업이 인도에 진출하는데 있어 가장 큰 과제라 할 수 있으며, 현지화 과정에 있어서는 인도인이 선호하는 콘텐츠가 무엇인지를 파악하는데 많은 노력을 기울어야 할 것이다.

  • Fire and smoke can from a small ignition source develop rapidly. Active systems in combination with Passive Fire Protection measures will offer highest safety standards to the building's developers and occupants. Nevertheless, the fire growth is very unpredictable and it is therefore essential at the planning stage that tested solutions are well selected according to National codes and later on installed by qualified contractors to ensure optimum performance. This demonstrates that Passive Fire Protection as safety measure cannot be neglected. Recent fire cases all over the world still proof that fire can develop any time and any where even in countries of high safety standards.

CIS 국가 내진 설계 방법과 SNiP Code를 적용한 주거시설 구조설계 사례 (Example of the Structural Design with Applied SNiP codes in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS))

  • CIS국가는 구소련국가연합을 지칭하는 말로써, 각 국의 설계 규준은 구소련의 규준인 SNiP을 기본으로 작성하여 서로 유사한 부분이 많이 존재한다. 내진 SNiP 규준은 강진지역인 카자흐스탄을 중심으로 정립되어 구소련의 기준으로 사용되었으며, 독립이후 각 국의 상황에 맞게 발전되었다. 일정규모 이상의 건물은 SNiP 이외 별도의 기술지침 (TU)을 발급받아야 하며, 건축 계획시부터 내진에 유리한 방향으로 설계를 진행한다. 본문에서 소개된 주거복합시설은 계획단계에서부터 내진 안정성을 우선적으로 고려하였으며, 해석프로그램 및 배근방법을 현지에 맞게 적용하였다. 또한 실제 도면 표기방법에서도 국내표기방식과 현지 표기방식을 절충하여 현지와 맞는 도면을 작성하였다.

MULTI-SCALE MODELS AND SIMULATIONS OF NUCLEAR FUELS

  • Theory-based models and high performance simulations are briefly reviewed starting with atomistic methods, such as Electronic Structure calculations, Molecular Dynamics, and Monte Carlo, continuing with meso-scale methods, such as Dislocation Dynamics and Phase Field, and ending with continuum methods that include Finite Element and Finite Volume. Special attention is paid to relating thermo-mechanical and chemical properties of the fuel to reactor parameters. By inserting atomistic models of point defects into continuum thermo-chemical calculations, a model of oxygen diffusivity in $UO_{2+x}$ is developed and used to predict point defect concentrations, oxygen diffusivity, and fuel stoichiometry at various temperatures and oxygen pressures. The simulations of coupled heat transfer and species diffusion demonstrate that including the dependence of thermal conductivity and density on composition can lead to changes in the calculated centerline temperature and thermal expansion displacements that exceed 5%. A review of advanced nuclear fuel performance codes reveals that the many codes are too dedicated to specific fuel forms and make excessive use of empirical correlations in describing properties of materials. The paper ends with a review of international collaborations and a list of lessons learned that includes the importance of education in creating a large pool of experts to cover all necessary theoretical, experimental, and computational tasks.

Evaluation of required seismic gap between adjacent buildings in relation to the Egyptian Code

  • International seismic codes stipulate that adjacent buildings should be separated by a specified minimum distance, otherwise the pounding effect should be considered in the design. Recent researches proposed an alternative method (Double Difference Combination Rule) to estimate seismic gap between structures, as this method considers the cross relation of adjacent buildings behavior during earthquakes. Four different criteria were used to calculate the minimum separation distance using this method and results are compared to the international codes for five separation cases. These cases used four case study buildings classified by different heights, lateral load resisting systems and fundamental periods of vibrations to assess the consistency in results for the alternative methods. Non-linear analysis was performed to calculate the inelastic displacements of the four buildings, and the results were used to evaluate the relation between elastic and inelastic displacements due to the ductility of structural elements resisting seismic loads. A verification analysis was conducted to guarantee that the separation distance calculated is sufficient to avoid pounding. Results shows that the use of two out of the four studied methods yields separation distances smaller than that calculated by the code specified equations without under-estimating the minimum separation distance required to avoid pounding.

공동주택 단위세대의 기기발열 특성 분석 및 추정모델 개발 (An Analysis on Characteristics and the Development of Estimation Model of Internal Heat Gain from Appliances in Apartment Units)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze characteristics and to develop estimation model of IHG(Internal Heat Gain) from appliance in domestic apartment units. To do this, it was defined the source of IHG from appliance and the calculation method through the case study of international and domestic codes. And the equipment related datum such possession, usage or not, etc were collected through field survey in apartment units, and the appliances' electricity consumption were measured separately from overall electricity consumption. Annual electricity consumption value were calculated with field survey datum and appliances' electricity consumption measurement datum, and then IHG value was calculated by applying PHPP v9 method. And it was conducted correlation analysis between IHG value and the area for exclusive use, the number of occupants, and then the IHG from applianace estimation model was deducted with regression analysis. Finally, it was analyzed the present level and of the domestic code(The Building Energy Efficiency Rating System) comparing with the value of estimation model, and the various international codes(HERS, Building America, SAP).

A study on Countermeasures by Detecting Trojan-type Downloader/Dropper Malicious Code

  • There are various ways to be infected with malicious code due to the increase in Internet use, such as the web, affiliate programs, P2P, illegal software, DNS alteration of routers, word processor vulnerabilities, spam mail, and storage media. In addition, malicious codes are produced more easily than before through automatic generation programs due to evasion technology according to the advancement of production technology. In the past, the propagation speed of malicious code was slow, the infection route was limited, and the propagation technology had a simple structure, so there was enough time to study countermeasures. However, current malicious codes have become very intelligent by absorbing technologies such as concealment technology and self-transformation, causing problems such as distributed denial of service attacks (DDoS), spam sending and personal information theft. The existing malware detection technique, which is a signature detection technique, cannot respond when it encounters a malicious code whose attack pattern has been changed or a new type of malicious code. In addition, it is difficult to perform static analysis on malicious code to which code obfuscation, encryption, and packing techniques are applied to make malicious code analysis difficult. Therefore, in this paper, a method to detect malicious code through dynamic analysis and static analysis using Trojan-type Downloader/Dropper malicious code was showed, and suggested to malicious code detection and countermeasures.

Current Issues & Prospects of International Space Law

  • This paper first gives a brief overview of the history of space law making in the international geopolitical context and recalls some of the main principles as elaborated in the framework of the United Nations. Next, several topics are discussed that will require the attention of space lawyers in the near future. They are the International Space Station, space debris, exploitation of space resources, space tourism, private property rights in space, and militarization and weaponization of space. The paper raises some questions in each of these areas that need to be addressed and concludes that the general legal framework for space activities under public international law as contained in the UN treaties is in place, and is sufficiently general and flexible to enable and encourage states to carry out space activities in an orderly manner. However, as demonstrated by the examples discussed in the paper, the time has come for the international community to agree on the further development of these general principles, starting perhaps with space debris, imminent 'new' uses of space such as space tourism, or some of the 'age old' issues such as the weaponisation of outer space that will continue to require our attention and vigilance. Whether such rules can be in the form of non binding guidelines, codes of conduct and the like, or should be embodied in solid legal instruments creating rights and obligations remains to be seen.

소방시설 내진설계의 필요성과 기준정비에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Necessity of Seismic Design for Fire Protection System and the Establishment of Standard)

  • 최근 세계적으로 대규모 지진들이 발생하고 있다. 이러한 지진의 피해는 진동에 의한 피해보다 지진으로 소방시설이 기능을 상실하여 전기 및 가스설비의 파손으로 발생하는 화재를 진압하지 못한 2차적 피해가 더 크다. 따라서 현재 우리나라의 지진 발생 추이를 확인할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 미국과 일본의 소방시설의 지진피해 사례 및 내진설계기준을 분석 하였으며, 우리나라와 유사한 미국의 기준과 비교한 결과 소방시설 내진설계기준의 적용범위가 우리나라의 건축 구조물의 특성에 매우 비효율적인 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 국내 현실을 감안하여 적용범위를 설정하도록 제안하였다.

The Effect of Welding Residual Stress on Whole Structure with T-Joint RHS

  • In the field of welding the mechanical behavior of a welded structure under consideration may be predicted via heat transfer and welding residual stress analysis. Usually such numerical analyses are limited to small regular mesh models or test specimens. Nevertheless, there is very few strength assessment of the whole structure that includes the effect of welded residual stress. The present work is based on the specialized finite element codes for the calculation of nonlinear heat transfer details and residual stress including the external load on the welded RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section) T-joint connections of the whole structure. First the thermal history of the combined fillet and butt-welded T-joint equal width cold-formed RHS are calculated using nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) considering the quarter model of the joint. Then using this thermal history the residual stress around the joints has been evaluated. To validity the FEA result, the calculated residual stresses were compared with the available experimental results. The residual stress obtained from the quarter model is mapped to the full model and then to the whole structure model using FEM codes. The results from the FEM codes were exported to the commercial package for visualization and further analysis applying loads and boundary conditions on the whole structure. The residual stress redistribution along with the external applied load is examined computationally.
