강내탄도의 성능 영향 요소 분석 (Analysis of Elements Influencing on Performance of Interior Ballistics)

  • 강내탄도의 다양한 해석 모델에 따른 성능 및 내부 유동을 분석하였다. 항력 모델은 초기 내부 유동 특성에 큰 영향을 미치며 고체추진제의 항력이 작을수록 차압의 진동을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. Nusselt 수 모델은 강내탄도의 주요 성능에 영향을 미치지 않으며 고체추진제의 열전달이 없는 경우에는 역압력이 발생하지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

  • This paper presents a procedure for the aerodynamic and aeroacoustic characteristics of a sirocco fan. For the aerodynamic and aeroacoustic analyses of the sirocco fan, three-dimensional steady and unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations are solved with a shear stress transport turbulence model for turbulence closure. The flow analyses were performed on a hexahedral grid using a finite-volume solver. The validation of the numerical results is performed by comparing with experimental data for the pressure, efficiency and power. The internal flow analyses of the sirocco fan are performed to understand the unstable flow phenomenon on the casing for the wall pressure and internal flow characteristics at each position. It was found that fluctuation of pressure and locally concentrated noise source are observed near the cut-off and expansion regions of the casing.

  • We investigate an internal flow pattern of an evaporating droplet where the contact line non-uniformly recedes. By using tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry, we observe a three-dimensional azimuthal vortex pair that is maintained until the droplet is completely dried. The non-uniformly receding contact line motion breaks the flow symmetry. Finally, a simplified scaling model presents that the mechanical stress along the contact line is proportional to the vorticity magnitude, which is validated by the experimental results.

  • SAENGMAEGSAN(SMS) has been used in oriental medicine for many years as a therapeutic agent for cerebral disease. The effect of SMS on the vascular system is not known. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of SMS on blood pressure, regio-nal cerebral blood flow(rCBF). 1. Blood pressure did not change by SMS in rats. 2. rCBF was increased by SMS in a dose-dependent manner. 3. Pretreatment with propranolol. methylene blue and indomethacin significantly inhibited SMS induced increase in rCBF. These results suggest that SMS causes a diverse response of blood pressure, regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) and pial arterial diameter. The increase in rCBF is also mediated by prostaglandins. cyclic GMP and adrenergic ${\beta}$receptor.

  • This paper describes numerical analysis of the impulse turbine with fixed guide vanes, a high performance bi-directional air turbine having simple structure for wave energy conversion. The numerical analysis of the 2-dimensional incompressible viscous flow based on the full Reynold-averaged Navier-Stokes equations which was made to investigate the internal flow behavior. Numerical results are compared with experimental data obtained by T.Setoguchi laboratory. As a result, as suitable choice of design factor has been clarified with the understanding of the internal flow from the numerical analysis.

Study on visualization of water mixing flows in a digester equipped with a vertical impeller by using radiotracers

  • A mixer with a new concept design has been adapted into water treatment plants. It reportedly cuts down the energy consumption of the mixer by the new mixer, which moves vertically and creates internal flows toward its bottom. However, no experimental observations have been made on the internal flow caused by a vertical impeller. In this study, a radiotracer experiment, radioactive particle tracking (RPT) technique, and particle image velocimetry (PIV) were carried out to visualize the flow in the mixer, and compared to each other. The results show that the flow patterns from these techniques are very similar to each other, and the performance of the mixer was good enough to mix the inner materials.

CFD를 이용한 가향 탱크 내부 유동에 관한 연구 (A Study on Internal Flow of Mixing Tank by CFD)

  • In the chemical, mineral and electronics, mechanically stirred tanks are widely used for complex liquid mixing processes. The paper present results from a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model for the mixing tank in casing process. We used CFD software, FLUENT(Fluent, Inc, Lebanon, NH, version 6.2). A species transport model was used to model the problem. The flow patterns in a mixing tank, 1.6 m in diameter and 2.0 m in height, were studied using CFD. Numerical analysis results show that improved mixing tank was reduced low speed flow region and turbulent region in internal flow of mixing tank.

Air-Water Two-phase Flow Patterns and Pressure Distributions in a Screw-type Centrifugal Pump

  • It was reported recently that the pump head degradation near the best efficiency point from single-phase flow to the break-down due to air entrainment became less in a screw-type centrifugal pump than in a general centrifugal pump. In this paper, I carried out internal pressure measurements and visualizations, and investigated the various physical phenomena occurring inside a screw-type centrifugal pump operated in air-water two-phase flow. The results could give some characteristics about the degradation of pump performance on air-water two-phase flow.

  • A preconditioned numerical method for gas-liquid two-phase flows is applied to solve cavitating flow. The present method employs a finite-difference dual time-stepping integration procedure and the MUSCLTVD scheme. A homogeneous equilibrium cavitation model is used. The present density-based numerical method permits simple treatment of the whole gas-liquid two-phase flow field, including wave propagation, large density changes and incompressible flow characteristics at low Mach number. Some internal flows such as convergent-divergent nozzles are computed using this method. Comparisons of predicted and experimental results are provided and discussed.
