A study on direct-to-consumer and intermediated marketing for the 6th industrialization in the U. S. agricultural sector

  • The Korean government introduced the $6^{th}$ industrialization in the agricultural sector to increase farmers' income and value-added agricultural products. The U.S. government has also supported farmers' efforts to increase their income and value-added products in a similar way even though the $6^{th}$ industrialization is not the usual concept in the U.S. Especially, direct-to-consumer and intermediated marketing is one of the main methods to increase farmers' income and value-added agricultural products in the U.S. The purpose of this paper was to analyze direct-to-consumer and intermediated marketing in the U.S., through a survey and frequency analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, U.S. farmers have shifted their concern and efforts from direct-to-consumer marketing to intermediated marketing because intermediated marketing may offer higher value-added agricultural products. However, consumers' perception and interest are higher for direct-to-consumer marketing than for intermediated marketing of agricultural products and related services. Consumers also will increase the portion of consumption of agricultural products and related services through direct-to-consumer marketing. This difference between farmers and consumers may cause difficulties in increasing farmers' income and value-added agricultural products in the U.S. Korean farmers may have same problem in the future, even though they have not encountered it yet. Especially, the Korean government needs to develop the capabilities of farmers so that they can solve this problem.

A Study on Mediating Effect of International Marketing Activity between R&D and Network Capabilities and Performance of Korean INNOBIZs (기술개발·네트워크 역량과 경영성과간 관계에서 국제마케팅 활동의 매개적 역할에 관한 연구)

  • This study researched relationship between R&D capability(TC), Network capability(NC), International marketing activity(IMA) and effect to performance of Korean globalizing INNOBIZs. In former research, they found out that TC, NC, IMA effect to performance directly. But they didn't focus on the relationship between the variables and Korean INNOBIZs. Recently, Global environment of competition is getting more and more complicated. So even the companies develop the excellent product, the companies can not get superior performance than competitor as long as the company combine with IMA or NC. In this study, empirical analysis performed using covariance structural analysis for Korean INNOBIZs. As we know in former research, TC and IMA have a positive effect on performance directly. But NC does not have a direct effect on performance. Also we found out TC and NC intermediated by MC have positive effect on performance. This result is theoretically and practically suggestive that using the company developed NC in International IMA effect on Performance.

The intellectual property factors affecting R&D outcome (연구개발성과에 영향을 미치는 지식재산요인)

  • The purpose of this research is to deduce the effects factor of R&D output and outcome in the aspect of the researcher's intellectual property capacity, and conduct an empirical analysis to see if there is intermediated effect between cooperation of a patent attorney and output. I applied three step, input (researcher's intellectual property capacity and intellectual property environment), output (number of patent and SCI paper), outcome (number of technology transfer, profit), and analyzed the effects of researcher's intellectual property factors on output and outcome through structural equation model. The results are as follows. First, there's no cooperation between a researcher and patent attorney, the researcher's knowledge on patent specification had direct effect on the output. Second, a researcher and an patent attorney cooperate, the cooperative activities have complete mediation effect on the output, and the researcher's will to commercialize the technology has direct effects on the output. Third, the intellectual property environment of the research organization gives direct effects on the researcher's intellectual property capacity, and gives indirect effects on the outcome. this study suggest that it is important to cooperate with external experts in order to excellent R&D outcome.
