Preparation and Characterization of Mesoporous Ceramic Materials (메조기공 세라믹 소재의 형성과 특성 분석)

  • Ordered mesoporous oxide films have been focused because of their low density, high interior specific surface area, and high thermal insulation. Specially, the ordered mesoporous oxide films prepared by self-assembly has many advantages due to easy process and high reproducibility. In this work, ordered mesoporous $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, and $TiO_2$ films were synthesized by control of composition and processing parameter. Also, their structural, thermal, and mechanical properties were characterized variously. In conclusion, ordered mesoporous oxides will be one of core materials in new technology due to their excellent and unique properties.

  • A passenger vehicle has various and complicated transmission paths of sound and vibration. In order to identify the mechanism of transfer path, estimation of excitation force and exact modeling of transfer path are required. In this paper vector synthesis technique is employed to identify the characteristics of road noise and its transmission to vehicle compartment through noise and vibration analysis. Vibration reduction efficiency of each transfer path is evaluated by comparing individual vector components obtained virtual simulation. The degree of effect is used to estimate the contribution of vibration input components to total output. And in this paper presents a new technique based on simulation studies using vector synthesis diagram and design of experiments, by which the effects of magnitude and phase change of input paths can be predicted.

Effects of mud-flap parameters on aeroacoustic noise generation inside high-speed trains (풍동을 이용한 고속열차 머드플랩 형상변경에 따른 공력소음 특성 분석)

  • Aeroacoustic sound induced from inter-couch spacing is an important contributor to interior noise generation for high speed trains. Especially the open space between mud-flap has significant impact from flow-structure interactions. To understand noise generation mechanism, experiments were performed using the wind tunnel. To find mud-flap parameters for minimal noise generations the various shape of the mud-flap was installed and its effects on the wall-pressure generation were investigated.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the ultimate strength and behavior of triangular and rectangular frames in steel towers. Investigations of collapse mechanism including local and global failures of partial frame are carried out through finite element analysis and small scaled experiments. Ultimate strength and deformation are investigated in case of shape variations with change of the interior and exterior frames. The efficiency of rectangular frame saving sub-brace members are verified with comparisons of the ultimate strength of triangular frames.

  • Comprehensive numerical computations are made of side-heated squire cavity which is exposed to time dependent external mechanical forcing. Numerical solutions are acquires to the governing two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations for a Boussinesq fluid. Time dependent heat transfer characteristics of interior fluid are analyzed to illustrate resonance phenomenon. When system is exposed to pure sinusoidal mechanical forcing, the numerical results disclose that the basic mechanism of resonance of mechanical forcing is same as that of thermal forcing of Ref. [3, 9]. In comparatively small amplitude of mechanical forcing, thermal characteristics of the system are similar to basic system(${\varepsilon}=0$).

  • Theoretical analysis of noise reduction by a membrane-duct system is presented. When acorn waves propagate in the membrane-duct, the membrane is also excited and its motion is coup with interior medium. It has been shown that propagating waves with supersonic wave speed exist beyond a certain critical frequency that is determined from the mass ratio of the me and the fluid. Also found are subsonic waves which couple strongly wi th the membrane a provide a powerful mechanism of energy dissipation. Existence of an exterior medium alter dispersion characteristics. It provides additional mass loading and reduces the subsort speed further. The effect of mean flow speed on dispersion characteristics is also consider results show that the membrane-duct system can be applied to diminish and absorb 1 frequency noise in duct instead of passive muffler, such as a simple expansion chamber absorption material.

ON BI-POINTWISE CONTROL OF A WAVE EQUATION AND ALGORITHM

  • We are concerned with mathematical analysis related to the bi-pointwise control for a mixed type of wave equation. In particular, we are interested in the systematic build-up of the bi-pointwise control actuators;one at the boundary and the other at the interior point simultaneously. The main purpose is to examine Hilbert Uniqueness Method for the setting of bi-pointwise control actuators and to establish relevant algorithm based on our analysis. After discussing the weak solution for the state equation, we investigate bi-pointwise control mechanism and relevant mathematical analysis based on HUM. We then proceed to set up an algorithm based on the conjugate gradient method to establish bi-pointwise control actuators to halt the system.

New Mathematical Models with Core Loss Factor for Control of AC Motors

  • This paper establishes in a new unified manner new mathematical models with core(iron) loss factor for two kinds of AC motors, induction and synchronous motors which are supposed to generate torque precisely or/and efficiently under vector controls. Our new models consist of three basic equations consistent with the others such as differential equation describing electromagnetic dynamics, torque equation describing torque generating mechanism, energy transmission equation describing how injected energy is wasted, saved or transmitted where all vector signals are defined in general frame of arbitrary instant angular velocity. It is clearly shown in our models that equivalent core-loss resistance can express appropriately and separately both eddy-current and hysteresis losses rather than mere vague loss. Proposed model of induction motor is the most compact in sense of the number of employed interior states and parameters. This compact model can also represent eddy-current and hysteresis losses of rotor as well as stator. For synchronous motor, saliency is taken into consideration. As well known model for cylindrical motor can be obtained directly from salient one as its special case.

  • This paper proposes to position and speed control of interior Permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive without mechanical sensor. Also, this paper develops a adaptive fuzzy controller based fuzzy logic control for high performance of PMSM drives. In the proposed system, fuzzy control is used to implement the direct controller as well as the adaptation mechanism. A Gopinath observer is used for the mechanical state estimation of the motor. The observer was developed based on nonlinear model of IPMSM, that employs a d-q rotating reference frame attached to the rotor. A Gopinath observer is implemented to compute the speed and position feedback signal. The validity of the proposed scheme is confirmed by various response characteristics.

  • The effect of grain refinement on the plastic deformation behaviour of nanocrystalline metallic materials is investigated. A phase mixture model in which a single phase material is considered as an effectively two-phase one is discussed. A distinctive feature of the model is that grain boundaries are treated as a separate phase deforming by a diffusion mechanism. For the grain interior phase two concurrent mechanisms are considered: dislocation glide and mass transfer by diffusion. The proposed constitutive model was implemented into a finite element code (DEFORM) using a semicoupled approach. The finite element method was applied to simulating room temperature tensile deformation of Cu down to the nanoscale grain size in order to investigate the pre- and post-necking behaviour.
