  • The latest trend of our medical industry seems to have a raise on more expectation and interest in mystical therapeutics of herb medicine and its efficiency especially for the disease such as chronicity and other obstinacy that used to be impossibie to be cured with only Western medical treatment. potentiality of ideal medical treatment through interchanging of medical study between Eastern and Western is becoming an issue today. Herb medicine is our native ethnic medicine and is based on the friendly-nature and human oriented under one of the classification of natural medicine. The point of this medicine has a strong connection with the conceptional trait of Health-Care that is been newly paid a lot of attention in Western medical science. This 'Y'Oriental Medical Clinic Interior Design is to grant a new possibility of global recognition of herb medicine getting over from a limited ethnic medicine by correcting the existing problems and expanding its scope to a part of natural medicine and to newly establish its meaning as a space for Health-Care utilizing a concept of nature.

  • Recently the hospitals or clinics tend to get out of the functional and technological aspect so as to gradually emphasize service for patients. While qualitative rather than quantitative alteration is noticeable, the scale of clinics is getting larger. Especially, the opulence resulted from economic, social and cultural development has enabled more people to visit dermatology or plastic surgery besides treatment for disease. Responding to this tendency, dermatology is focusing on skin beauty, plastic operation, controlling obesity, etc. for women rather than ordinary treatment. Thus, dermatology is in need of space for skin control as well as ordinary treatment, which raises the immediate necessity of new plan for space and interior environment. In order to meet such necessity of dermatology, it is required to fully study and consider the plan for interior space. First, the purpose, scope and method of research will be defined in the introduction. Second, the concept of clinic as well at the characteristic of dermatology will be studied by theoretical investigation. Third, the general concept of dermatology will be analyzed by examining the characteristic of each room in dermatology, the moving line of nurses and patients, the color of dermatology and the design factor of finishing materials through general investigation on dermatology. Fourth, in order to look into the general case of dermatology, the object of examination will be selected for examination through literature and visiting. After examining data, the result will be analyzed and evaluated to prepare the ground for interior plan of dermatology.

  • We analyzed 45 types of herbal medicines for Soyangin, clinically applied in Dongyisoosebowon. In order to discover the standard of herbal classification for the Sasang constitutions, four concepts of Sasang Medicine were applied. These included 'Sadangron(theory of four groups)', 'Seungganggaehap(ascending-descending and gathering-dispersing)', 'Pyorihanyoul(exterior-interior and hot-cold)', and 'Hyungchiaekmi(fragrance, smell, bodily fluid and taste)'. According to these analyzing methods of herbal properties, we have reached the following conclusions: Herbal medicines for 'Soyangin' are characterized by descending energetics that reinforce the Yin Qi. The 'Exterior cold disease' is treated with herbs that descend the "Exterior Yin" in five ways: by releasing exterior, by resolving dampness, by clearing and transforming heat phlegm, by clearing heat, and by settling and calming the spirit. The 'Interior heat disease' is treated with herbs that raise the "Interior Yang" in three ways: by tonifying kidney Yin, by clearing heat, and by clearing heat and purging.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to find the principal of the assignment of Sidong disease and Sosaeng disease(是動病 所生病) into 12 meridians and suggest the author's opinion. Methods : 1. The authors investigated the conception of Sidong disease and Sosaeng disease through several literatures. 2. The authors investigated the line course of 12 meridians(經脈流注) and their Sidong disease and Sosaeng disease. 3. The authors classified Sidong disease and Sosaeng disease following the study by Kim et al. 4. The authors suggested the opinions about the diseases that are difficult to be understood direct relation with the course of meridian. Results : 1. The result of classification of Sidong disease and Sosaeng disease into 5 shows that the percentages were 32.96% for meridian's own disease(本經病), 13.97% for organic own disease(本臟腑病), 12.85% for other organic own disease(他臟腑病), 20.67% for related organic disease(有關器官病), 19.55% for etc.(其他病). 2. Therefore, 19.55% of the whole Sidong disease and Sosaeng disease is that which occurred on the site that is not related directly with the meridian. Conclusions : 1. The exterior and interior relation(表裏關係) and mutual communication between organ and bowel(臟腑相通) are associated with the basic principal of the assignment of Sidong disease and Sosaeng disease that is not related with the course of meridian. 2. The cause of assignment of Sidong disease and Sosaeng disease can be explained according to the profound medical theories.

  • The main purpose of this study is to lay the groundwork of mutual assistance between Shanghanlun and Sa-sang Constitutional Medicine by looking into their differences and similarities in the concept and the medical treatment in the diaphoretic therapy and the purgative therapy. The study compared Shanghan Jomun quoted in Soeumin. Dongyi-Soose-Bowon with Je-ma, Lee's Theory of Medicine. And its conclusion is the following: 1. Both Shanghanlun and Sa-sang Constitutional Medicine connote the concept of pathogenic factors in the Nae-Kyung Medicine as the medicinal substances. And both of them have the fundamental structure of exterior-to-interior movements in the symptoms of disease to appear when pathogenic factors penetrate into the bodies. 2. Sa-sang Constitutional Medicine has treated the causes and the mechanism of disease in the symptoms of disease differently from other therapies: focusing on the body's constitutional symptom of disease. namely Soeumin's lack of the Yang-Qi and the poor Ascending Yang, not an attack on pathogenic factors as a interior-exterior symptom. Therefore Ascending-yang Supplying Qi, which fills up the lacking parts of the body and keeps the balance of the body fitted in one's constitution, has been used rather than the diaphoretic and purgative therapy. 3. As Shanghanlun and Sa-sang Constitutional Medicine have the similarities in the interior-to-exterior structure, pathogenic factors. and the notion of diaphoresis and purgation, they do so in the principle of the medicinal substance and the therapy. However, there are actually differences of carrying out the diaphoretic and purgative therapy and other treatments between Shanghanlun and Sa-sang Constitutional Medicine by the reason of the dissimilarities in the mechanism of disease and focal points.

  • The following conclusions were obtained from the studies on Bangpuntongseongsan both from the documents and Hyungsang medicine. Bangpungtongseong-san was created by Yu Wan-so to relieve both interior and exterior of disease from the pathogenic fire, and it cures wind syndrome and dry syndrome. Bangpungtongseong-san is of light herbal combination and it works in the upper part of the body and is mainly applied to skin disease. Perspiration without harming the exterior and purgation without hurting the interior shows that it is not a severe prescription belonging to meditation therapy. It is mostly used for curing the disease of internal heat caused by over drinking and consuming heavy food, and it has special relationship with Yangmyung meridian. It is mentioned in the chapters of spirit, head, face, eye, ear, nose, throat, skin, hair, prescription, wind, dryness, fire, internal damage, epidemic infectious disease, carbuncle and cellulitis, ulceration, and pediatrics of ${\ulcorner}$Donguibogam${\lrcorner}$. It is usually applied to those who belong to Yangmyung type of the six meridian types or wind type, who has excessive heat, people with red complexion, reddened nose, pimples over the face and nose, coarse heel, loss of hair due to wind-heat, and to those who tend to have dandruff. Through examination over the cases treated with Hyungsan medicine, Bangpungtongseong-san was found efficacious in bloodshot eyes, brandy nose, loss of hair, various skin problems, tetanus, acute alcoholism, paralysis of hand and foot, deafness, and tinnitus.
