  • Purpose: To develop educational material about nutrition during antepartum period for women pregnant with twins by using smartphone applications. Methods: A series of steps according to ADDIE model, including Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation were used to develop smartphone application of antepartum nutrition care for women pregnant with twins. Results: Based on experts' evaluation, the average score was $4.6{\pm}0.39$ in total. Content score was $4.7{\pm}0.40$. Interface design score was $4.5{\pm}0.55$. Content score was higher than interface design score. User evaluation was conducted in the form of interview. Results of interviews revealed that users generally responded positively to the accuracy, understanding, and objectivity for content items of the smartphone app. As for the evaluation of consistency for the evaluation item of interface design, users answered "ordinary" or "generally yes". For design suitability and accuracy of vocabulary, they answered 'generally suitable'. Conclusion: The smartphone app developed through this study is expected to aid antepartum care for women pregnant with twins. It will also contribute to health promotion of both pregnant women and twin fetus.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the subject and standards of evaluation on integrated IR interface. For this study, we studied the preceding research about major IR interface models. We took the survey for interface elements which were verified by experts. These interface elements are divided twe viewpoints. One is the cognitive viewpoints which are the page design, content design, site design, output form, usability and aesthelic facet. The other is the objective viewpoints which are page design, dontent design, site design, output for and usability. We found that these evaluation elements have a crediblilty.

  • IVNS(In-Vehicle Navigation System) which developed by the advance of technological system including computer, display and communication will procide the important interface functions between the driver and the ITS (Intelligent Transport System). However, hat the human factors engineer can actually offer to the designer is by no means a complete set of design specifications. Therefore, a set of boundary conditions and operational ranges within which the designer can be assured that physical, perceptual and cognitive abilities and limitations of drivers will be accommodated system atically[6]. Also, this will be the considerations to compose the IVNS HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design guidelines and IVNS HMI evaluation system. As the first phase of developing the IVNS HMI evaluation system, this paper describe the architecture and the content of this system.

  • An Integrated Test Facility(ITF) is a human factors experimental environment to evaluate an advanced man machine interface(MMI) design. The ITF includes a human machine simulator(HMS) comprised of a nuclear power plant function simulator, man-machine interface, experiment control station for the experiment control and design, human behavioural data measurement system, and data analysis and experiment evaluation supporting system(DAEXESS). The most important features of ITF is to secure the flexibility and expandibility of Man Machine Interlace(MMI) design to change easily the environment of experiments to accomplish the experiment's objects In this paper, we describe a development scope and characteristics of the ITF such as, hardware and software development scope and characteristics, system thermohydraulic modelling characteristics, and experiment station characteristics for the experiment variables design and control, to be used as an experiment environment for the evaluation of VDU-based control room.

  • In this paper, the evaluation method of interfacial fracture toughness to apply the fracture toughness was investigated in adhesively bonded joints of AI/Ced./A1. Four types of adhesively bonded double-cantilever beam(DCB) joints with the interface crack were prepared for the test of interfacial fracture toughness. The experiments to measure the interfacial fracture toughness were performed under the various mixed-mode conditions. The critical energy release rate, Gc, was obtained by the experimental measurement of compliances. From the experimental results, the interfacial fracture toughness for the mixed-mode specimens is well characterized by the energy release rate, and the method of strength evaluation by the interfacial fracture toughness was discussed in adhesively bonded joints.

  • After arranging the general usability evaluation criteria of existing VUI researchers, this study verified how appropriate these criteria are for AI VUI specialized in navigation and the priority of their suitability. The VUI used in this study was analyzed through a survey from a total of 195 Chinese users after analyzing the navigation VUI used in China. As a result of the analysis, the usability evaluation criteria of the navigation VUI were extracted from three sub-factors of 'task accuracy', 'function satisfaction', and 'information reliability' in verifying conformance with general VUI evaluation criteria. With the recent advent of self-driving cars, safety and response speed are becoming very important, so Chinese users also ranked responsiveness as the top priority in VUI design, and the importance was also found to be high. Also, both men and women have the highest reactivity and the lowest multiplicity. VUI requires a convenient and natural interface to understand the intention between two objects through usability evaluation and verification in order to have effective interaction between humans and machines.

  • Since experimental evaluation of underground RC structures considering interaction with surrounding soil medium is quite difficult to be simulated, the evaluation for the underground RC structures using an analytical method can be applied very usefully. For underground structures interacted with surrounding soils, it is important to consider path-dependent RC constitutive model, soil constitutive model, and interface model between structure and soil, simultaneously. In this paper, an elastoplastic interface model which consider thickness of interface is proposed and applied for the analysis considering the interaction. Failure mechanism of underground RC box of two story and two box subway station under seismic action is obtained and the effects of ductility of intermediate column to entire underground RC system are investigated through analysis.

  • This study presents the benchmark results of several design frameworks for the purpose of developing an efficient design framework in view of Excel interface. For the benchmark, three optimum design problems are chosen and solved by using the design frameworks. In order to compare the frameworks with each other, the evaluation criteria are specified and modified to fit the problems with Excel interface. Three example cases are solved and compared. The evaluation report is summarized in terms of efficiency, ease of use, internal structure, API, etc. However, the optimization result itself is not focused because the specific optimization algorithm is not our concern. Finally, some suggestions of how to develop an efficient design framework with Excel interface are presented.

  • The present study aims to derive optimal interface treatment conditions for emulating a monolithic construction. The joints in this construction are formed through the bonding shear evaluation method during the placement of ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) and normal strength concrete (NSC). The evaluation items include push-off tests for homogeneous UHPC + UHPC and heterogeneous NSC + UHPC. The experimental samples comprised a monolithic placement as the baseline, two levels for the separated placement according to the compression strength of concrete, and five levels for the interface treatment. The increase in the number of grooves and their cross-sectional areas only slightly influenced the bonding shear performance. The optimal interface treatment method for the homogeneous UHPC + UHPC construction grooves was at least 30mm. The heterogeneous NSC + UHPC construction should utilize waterjet roughening to expose the aggregate for the increased roughness.
