  • As environmental damage increase by a highly developed material civilization of today, many companies take a growing immensely interest in the influence of environment for beginning a new paradigm year by year. The previous assessments dose not run the gamut of industry but is confined within a certain facility or an area. Industrial processes and operations can not be accomplished independently but are connected with each others through suppliers and customer, and these ideas are fundamental notions of Life Cycle Assessment(LCA). This paper will introduce Life Cycle Assessment(LCA) n environment which is rising, and would like to build environmental management system using approach of Quality Function Development(QFD) and Safety Function Development(SFD) belonging to the assessment method.

  • Compiler course is one of the important courses in computer science. It requires more efficient learning environment because of its large coverage scale and complexity. One of its solutions is to provide the integrated development environment for educational compilers which is enable to give practice-oriented class and enhance student's interest. This paper presents the code generation support system developed in an integrated development environment of educational compiler. Our system helps students to understand the process of code generation and visualizes the relation among the source language, AST, and the target language. It makes students develop their own compilers more easily.

  • According to increasing the number of rice farm households, it is important to find optimal farm scale, farm crops, and labour constraints depending on growth time. The study aims to analyze the optimal farming system using the linear programming in Seosan county, Chungnam. The survey was conducted in-depth interview to collect data from one farm household. Results show that farmers change their some crops in dry filed into ginger and hire farm labours in April. The findings should be of interest to rice farmers and policy makers to manage their farm effectively and to support them.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the environmental education of public servants in National Institute of Environmental Human Resource Development(NIERD). Based on CIPP model, Evaluation areas and items were made. The data were collected through interviews, questionnaires and training and development team's internal information from November, 2005 to January, 2006. Based on the interviews and survey of 11 employee from training and development team, context factors, input factors, process factors, product factors were evaluated. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, the problem of the environmental education of environmental officials indicated lack of interest about education of Ministry of Environment, lack of education expense, lack of expertise of employee in training and development team, and so on. Second, the curriculum for environmental officials was not considered the environmental officials' readiness for education, developmental level and competency. Suggestions for future research were offered.

  • The giant croaker, Nibea japonica is a large, estuarine sciaenid distributed around southem Korea and Japan. In Repubic of Korea, giant croaker is a highly desired commercial and recreational species and there is interest in develoment of techniques for production of fish for enhancement of wildstocks and aquaculture since the giant croaker possesses some desirable characteristics for aquaculture including tolerance to widely varying salinities and receptivity to induced spawning in captivity.   • Smart tourism research and development have mainly focused on the benefits of smart tourism technologies to certain stakeholders with transactional relationships in destinations. However, smart technologies in destinations could also cause several negative outcomes, leading to social, ethical, and moral issues. Such issues arise from the power imbalance between different stakeholders of smart tourism development. To mitigate the adverse effects of smart technologies, destinations need to enunciate the essential moral and ethical principles when developing smart tourism. Therefore, adopting descriptive and normative approaches to stakeholder theory, this paper proposes a framework to showcase several methods to address the issues.

A Study on the Environmental Impact Assessment for the Unconventional Gas Development (비전통 가스 개발의 국내외 환경영향평가 현황)

  • Interest has been growing worldwide in unconventional natural gas that has become an increasingly important source of energy in the world. Unconventional gas development, including shale gas, generally involves a larger environmental impact, compared to conventional gas development, due to its intensity and scale of the operation. There are a growing number of studies on identifying and minimizing the environmental impacts of unconventional gas development. This study aims to examines the current environmental policies and regulatory systems related to the unconventional gas development. The study shows that few environmental regulation exists concerning unconventional gas development, even in the USA where unconventional gas development is most actively pursued. Regulations, however, are being developed based on studies currently underway on health and environmental risks of unconventional gas development and on guidelines designed to reduce the risks. In a world where environmental regulations are ever strengthening, review the environmental regulatory systems and guidelines about unconventional gas need to be established for Korean firms to understand environmental impacts of unconventional gas development they invest or take part in, enabling them to manage and operate gas activities in a way that minimizes environmental damages.

  • According to trends in scientific technical competition, many countries around the world are interested in and focused on the STEAM integrated education. By observing the fact that the goal of our country's science education is to cultivate creative workers who have scientific knowledge, the need for STEAM integrated education cannot be denied. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to develop the STEAM integrated program focused on themes that considered activities and interest in the grade 6 science subject in order to identify its influence on the creativity and interest levels of elementary students. The STEAM integrated education program in this study was developed so that it can be applied as a unit review or reinforcement activities in the closing activities per unit in grade 6. The focus was placed on heightening students' creativity and interest in science subject learning through a program focused on activities per theme. As a result of applying the developed STEAM integrated program in prior and post conditions on 3 elementary school's students in J Province, it was discovered that significant improvement was found in the creativity and scientific interest of elementary students in the experimental group, compared to the control group. Therefore, continuous and systematic development of the STEAM integrated education program is required, and moreover, it must be developed for all elementary grade levels and efforts should be put into actively applying the program in the field of education.

Effects of Participation in Non-face-to-face Daily Science Class on Elementary School Students' Perception of Science and Scientific Competency (비대면 생활과학교실 참여가 초등학생들의 과학기술에 대한 인식 및 과학적 역량에 미치는 영향)

  • Daily science classes, which have been continued as part of the spread of participatory science culture, has taken the lead in popularizing science as an effective out-of-school experiential and research activity. However, due to the recent COVID-19 situation, daily science classes have also become an environment in which there is no choice but to switch to non-face-to-face or to combine face-to-face and non-face-to-face education. Therefore, in this study, we examine how elementary school students participating in the non-face-to-face daily science class program change their usual fields of interest, perception of science and technology, interest about science, and scientific competency. In addition, the educational effectiveness of the non-face-to-face daily science class improved by comparing the differences in perceptions of students and parents, and future operation plans were sought. As a result of the study, after participating in the non-face-to-face daily science class program, students' interest in science and technology development, future technology, environmental pollution, and social media increased, and their interest in games decreased. Also, students' interest in science and technology activities, interest in science, and scientific competency also increased. This shows that non-face-to-face daily science class education is effective. Therefore, it was suggested that it is necessary to diversify the learning topics and content levels of the daily science class program, to expand the opportunities of non-face-to-face science education for underprivileged learners, and to develop and share science content using the latest media.
