  • There has been an increasing interest in the construction of smart buildings that can actively monitor and react to their surroundings. The capacity of these intelligent structures to precisely predict and respond to deflection is a crucial feature that guarantees both their structural soundness and efficiency. Conventional techniques for determining deflection often depend on intricate mathematical models and computational simulations, which may be time- and resource-consuming. Artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms have become a potent tool for anticipating and controlling deflection in intelligent structures in response to these difficulties. The term "deflection-aware smart structures" in this sense refers to constructions that have AI algorithms installed that continually monitor and analyses deflection data in order to proactively detect any problems and take appropriate action. These structures anticipate deflection across a range of operating circumstances and environmental factors by using cutting-edge AI approaches including deep learning, reinforcement learning, and neural networks. AI systems are able to predict real-time deflection with high accuracy by using data from embedded sensors and actuators. This capability enables the systems to identify intricate patterns and linkages. Intelligent buildings have the potential to self-correct in order to reduce deflection and maximize performance. In conclusion, the development of deflection-aware smart structures is a major stride forward for structural engineering and has enormous potential to enhance the performance, safety, and dependability of designed systems in a variety of industries.

  • Efficient path planning for mobile crane lifting operations in the construction industry is essential for ensuring smooth machinery operation, worker safety, and the timely completion of projects. The inherently complex construction sites, characterized by dynamic environments, constantly changing conditions, and numerous static and mobile obstacles, underscore the necessity for advanced algorithms capable of generating optimal paths under various constraints. Mobile crane path planning algorithms have been researched extensively and possess the potential to resolve the challenges presented by construction sites. However, the application of these algorithms in actual construction sites is rare, suggesting a need for ongoing research and development in this field. This paper begins by systematically identifying and analyzing relevant research papers using predetermined keywords, providing a comprehensive review of the current state of mobile crane path planning algorithms. Specifically, it categorizes mobile crane path planning algorithms into four main groups: Graph search-based algorithms, Sampling-based algorithms, Nature-inspired algorithms, and Newly developed algorithms. It performs a critical analysis of each category, offering guidance to researchers exploring path planning solutions suitable for the dynamic and complex environments of construction sites. Through this review, we affirm the need for continued interest and attempts at new methodologies in mobile crane path planning, suggesting improvements for further research and practical application of these algorithms.

  • International trade in the clothing industry has contributed significantly to South Korea's economic development. This study examines the interplay between textile and clothing exports, imports, and gross domestic product (GDP) growth from a macroeconomic perspective using a model with vector autoregressive with exogenous variables (VARX). The findings indicate that GDP growth negatively impacts textile and clothing exports but is positively correlated with imports. Furthermore, GDP growth from one and two years prior negatively affects current exports while positively influencing imports. Macroeconomic indicators, including the consumer price index, private consumption index, and producer price index, significantly impact the textile and clothing trades. By contrast, the won/dollar exchange rate and the Bank of Korea's base interest rate do not appear to exert any substantial effect. An unexpected impulse from GDP growth strongly affects the status of textile and clothing imports. Predictions for the future indicate stable GDP growth over the next five years, with high volatility anticipated in the clothing industry's trade balance. This study applies endogenous growth theory to the global clothing trade, yielding theoretical insights, and offers empirical guidance for government agencies wishing to support domestic clothing trade firms.

  • In terms of the size of aquaculture farms and production volume, inland freshwater aquaculture is much smaller than marine aquaculture in Korea. However, freshwater aquaculture provides fish which is not produced in the sea. Freshwater aquaculture plays an important role in the efficient use of resources, development of local areas and economy vitalization in under - developed areas. freshwater aquaculture also helps ecosystem recovery by stocking farmed fry. As addressed above, inland freshwater aquaculture plays various roles and can not be ignored. However, freshwater aquaculture has been off the interest of fisheries authority. Considering a series of changes in the circumstances such as the government's disapproval of pen - raised aquaculture, higher standard for discharged water from aquaculture farms and a rapid increase in import of low price fish from other countries, it is difficult to expect the quantitative expansion of the freshwater aquaculture any more. Furthermore, freshwater aquaculture lost the trust of people because of the use of Malachite green, and the consumption of farmed product plummeted last year. Even though it would be difficult to expect the quantitative expansion, we could expect qualitative growth and let the inland freshwater aquaculture keep playing the own roles. In order to achieve competitive advantage and regain the trust by providing safer farmed product, the government's support and freshwater aquaculture industry's active and voluntary efforts are very important. This paper suggests several points for the future oriented inland freshwater aquaculture in Korea such as strategic intensive development of selected species, the technical improvement and its diffusion, increased cooperation among the government authority, industry and scientists.
